    I wish I had some great injury story to share, but I got hip flexor strain from a new work from home job where I sit in one spot for 9 hours a day. I've started doing these stretches and I hope the pain goes away soon. It's more of an annoyance than anything. But there are times it really hurts. Ouch! Good luck to everyone.

    Had this issue for 8-9 months now. I am 60 and used to do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 3-4 times a week. I had to give it up…too painful. I was told it was from being hunched over my computer 8-10 hours a day for a few years during covid. I have to fix this !

      I just got this injury from having just restarted bjj at 36 and doing a warmup poorly and the pain has been persistent because I work from home at a computer all day too. I've gotten a lot of insight from different videos with different PT and rehab approaches. For me it seems to be weak glutes, which are the main support for the much smaller hip flexors and soas.

    I experienced this while playing football (soccer) about a year ago. Hurt like crazy, real depressing. I stopped playing for about 7 months and it healed. Now aftrr my third month of playing weekly, sometimes multiple times a week, including heavy weekly squats, i just strained it again today. So it can go away but is likely to come back. Super frustrating

    • @jerryseinfeld6971
      @jerryseinfeld6971 4 года назад +8

      Don't stretch it as much, focus on the isometric contractions through various angles that don't give you pain, continue to stretch through a pain free range of motion.

    • @Courtney_Ann_
      @Courtney_Ann_ 2 года назад

      The hanging leg raises for me 🙋🏼‍♀️ I think I used my hip flexors to overcompensate for my weaker ab muscles and the swinging leg motion did me in. It really does replicate a kicking motion so it makes sense.

    I have had a hip flexor strain for 6 months now. I have done everything my doctor has told me to do - basically total rest with just a little ice and heat. No golf, no running, no soccer no gym and I can't understand why I am having the same discomfort everyday. I totally understand that my age is a factor - 57. I have spent my life playing sports so I know that a muscle strain takes time but this is not improving. Frustrating. Had athletic pubulga for about 4 years and finally got over that with daily regimented stretching. Need help.

    I have been having a lot of pain in my right groin area, my GP says it is a Hip Flexor Strain, however, I am 56 and do not play any sports, I cannot remember injuring myself. How can you get a Hip Flexor Strain without injuring yourself? At first, I had an X-Ray to check if my hip joints were the problem, but my hips are fine and there is no sign of arthritis.

      From walking, getting out of bed, walking up or down stairs, anything were you use that muscle, the less active you are and the older you get, the weaker your body becomes. That's why it's mostly old people that go doctors, hospitals, get sick and die. How are you now, feeling better?

      If it is hip flexor tendinitis I have learned that it will go away by about 99%. You may notice the pain occasionally but it will not restrict you from doing anything including sports. Other than the tendinitis aspect I am unsure
