surge protector will not protect your Playstation against power surge.... why? simple, theres no grounding on the power plug. the only safe with this kind of issues is PS3 with fat models. for the surge protector to work properly, you need a outlet that does have grounding as well the devices/appliance you will be plugging to it. the only best protection you can get to protect your playstaion is using a AVR that is servo type, or a Online Type UPS.
The only issue i have with rest mode is that sometimes the power is taken in my whole house while im in rest mode, even if i dont unplug anything my ps4 will react like i unpluged it, which is normal but also frustrating

Though one day this summer I was playing on my pro and it was so hot we lost power like three times in one day. So I have VERY bad experience with rest mode: First my ps4 pro could potentially not start games anymore (Blue screen and error code). And secondly this happen to me several times, but the last time my „internet-disconnect-fix“ didnt work anymore and I couldnt start ANY application on the ps anymore. Is this only happening when playing a certain game? Sometimes deleting and reinstalling a game fresh on the hard drive helps from the hard drive being bogged down like you're describing
John Hammer unfortunately the only games that I have tried are modern warfare and shitnite, for some reason fortnite is basically the game I can have 100%, and only sometimes modern warfare.

Ya it can improve load times significantly when used externally but if your going for an SSD install it internally as it improves performance and texture pop in as well when installed internally.

Ermin As soon as you turn off the console it cuts power to charge any accessories including the DualSense controller. You have to leave it in rest mode for any of the time periods you mention so that it still supplies power to charge your ps5 controller.

Ermin there’s no problem with doing that. Just make sure you are charging your controller while playing (plugged in) and while the console is powered on, because without rest mode it won’t charge your controller in a powered off state.

Good question, I would try to fix the blue light issue before leaving the PS4 in rest mode. If the console is in the middle of a download/update process in rest mode, the blue light death can corrupt the data.

Good question: It should be safe to leave a disc inside the disc drive of your PS4 as long as you don't plan on moving the console from it's spot. You don't want to shift the disc inside the drive and risk scratching or displacing the disc.

I have a question, i have been using rest mode for a couple of months i think instead of turning it off because i was scared it was going to log me off the ps4 account. If you unplug the cord whilst in rest mode, it comes up with this creepy black screen saying the console was not turned off properly.
