played it against paladin once, biggest fucking mistake ever. He dropped Peacekeeper+Wisdom on it then spammed "Thank you" emote all the way as I milled all my entire deck in 3 turns.
kek
same paladin boner when u gotta be kidding me is played,
A good player would know when to play it and when *not* to play it.
My opponent playd venture co and i peacekeapered it, instant win :D
huldu It's Arena. The other guy can get Humility, many copies of Peacekeeper and Pandas...
Secret Battlecry: Give your opponent horrible flashbacks if they played WoW in TBC
That sound... that horrifying sound...
+Agent Camtho Fel reaver was the god of heart attacks back in the day
Kripp has decided that since the lost of Cattarian, he's going to exclusively stream from the basement of a library
I tried playing with Fel Reaver a few times now, but it always ends up in a disaster.
All you need is 2 golden fell reever
Yo Kripp!
I really enjoy your "how good is" videos aswell as your other videos!
Keep up the good work man!
Greetings from Germany whohhooo! :D
Did he cut the video at 8:32 cause he accidently said dodge a flamestrike vs shaman?
It's been years, but this feels so nastolgic. Back in a simple time.
Just to amend the thought on if it belongs in "mindless" decks, it belongs in decks that never go to Fatigue. A discarded card is no different than a card at the bottom of your deck if you never fatigue. An unseen card is an unseen card.
just yesterday i drafted a pretty nice warlock deck in arena, and happened to draft this big dude. well, i went 3-0 without playing this card even once. 3 games after that i already redeemed my 3-3 rewards only because of this piece of crap. 3 games in a row my opponent managed to stall the game long enough (when the fel reaver was dropped on turn 5-6), so i lost only because of the milling effect. this was too much for me to think its a coincidence, and ill never draft this bullshit losing condition card ever again
Ok, thanks for letting us know
Ok
ok
ok
i aggree with u....it is a terrible card
I have never seen anyone win a game when they play this card. As far as I have seen, it might as well read "Battlecry: lose the game."
Didn't you just watch the video? O_O
I went 12-2 because of this card.(4 "freebies" coz of it) As Kripp explained, your opponents usually focus on milling you, forgetting to remove the fel reaver. Clear their board, hit them in the face twice, and you won by turn 7-8.
Yeah, I guess if you have a really stupid opponent it could work.
The thing is, until you actually run out of cards and start drawing into fatigue, which doesn't usually happen before Fel Reaver is removed, because it IS a decent threat, especially on turn 5 or 6, its effect is basically the same as if it said "Move the top 3 cards of your deck to the bottom of your deck". It's easy to look at the cards you "would have drawn" and think you're somehow being put at a disadvantage, cards that you obviously put into your deck because you wanted to use them, but the order you draw your cards in is always a dice roll as it is, so until you fatigue it's just like having your deck shuffled differently than it was. I'd wager that more than 50% of games don't even make it to the last 10 cards in your deck - so there's always cards that you weren't going to draw. What difference does it make if you don't draw them because they're on the bottom of your deck, or because they were vaporized into thin air? Basically none. Even if you don't vaporize cards out of your deck, you can still fail to draw the cards you need at any moment in any given matchup. Yes, there are times that it will burn "exactly the card you needed" and essentially lose you the game, but it's no different from if your deck wasn't shuffled in that order in the first place. But sometimes it could burn cards you don't need so that you draw cards you DO need. It goes both ways.
Though depending on your deck, Fel Reaver can be a harder hit more at times than others. It's definitely fit in something like Zoo where it's just a bunch of random shit anyway, but you wouldn't want to vape your Quartermasters and Musters as Paladin, or your Force/Savage as Druid - just as examples.
I think the biggest problem with Fel Reaver is just that a vanilla 8/8 just isn't that good right now, even for 5 mana. Before turn 8, your opponent still has a lot of their removal at their disposal, so it ends up dying and you "lose" cards in the process, and its hard to think of that as anything other than terrible, but there are definitely far, FAR worse cards to put in a deck.
No worries. I'm aware that it doesn't matter if it destroys cards if you never got to the bottom of your deck. But you are assuming the enemy player only plays 1 card and activates his effect once. What if the Fel Reaver stays out for two turns and they play three cards each? You literally just destroyed more than half of your deck (18 cards). If you weren't going into fatigue before, you are now.
There are just so many damn ways to counter it. You WANT it to stay on the board and trade as the player playing against it. Use Mirror Image, Aldor Peacekeeper, Sunwalker, Defender of Argus, Annoy-o-Tron, Shieldbearer, Sludge Belcher, etc.... Anything that makes it trade for garbage minions and wholesale any class that has a play that makes it trade against garbage minions, which includes: Mage, Shaman, and Paladin immediately coming to mind, but any deck which includes the above cards.
It just seems like the only way it works is if you have an opponent who gets crazy greedy playing every card in his hand and doesn't think or in arena where answers are hard to come by. In constructed I watched an entire day of Trump trying to make it work and it lost him game after game after game until he basically never touched that deck again.
Did you record this on a toaster? I have it at 720p and everything is still extremely blurry.
Remember when the only edit in Kripps videos was the intro? We've come so far.
YES Finally this video came out!!
turn 4 win as priest:
coin+fel reaver+silence
+Xozzen BGH
Noooooooooo!
+Xozzen Who has BGH that early in their hand?
Someone who got it "unfortunately" after mulligan
Xozzen Yea RNG can be a bitch.
i play one of it in my mech mage. mostly its pretty hard the get the field to a point where i feel save to play it but with mechwarper & coin a 8/8 in turn 3 is just so beautiful xD
kripp, can you go again on fel reaver shaman thoughts?
So I was just watching the VOD of Value Town vs Cloud 9 and you said that you didn't think that anyone would have picked Mech Shaman over Patron Warrior. I'm just curious where you would get that information. I have almost never lost to a Patron Warrior with my mech deck. It is good at exploiting Patron by putting on so much pressure, that the warrior has to pull out combo pieces to keep from dying. Then the game doesn't last long enough for them to draw into other answers.
Yesterday my opponent in arena decided that it was a good idea summoning Fel Reaver at turn 8. My turn was: 2-drop, spare part, spare part, 4-drop. I felt bad for him.
5:10 to skip
thanks
ty bro
ty
you saved 5 minutes of my life ! ( ° ͜ʖ͡°)╭∩╮
Return me my seconds!I'm alredy found gamelpay
I just had a fun arena game with it where the opponent innervated it out on turn 3 on an empty board.. i was like oh shit, how am I going to deal with that? Then I remembered I had humility in my opening hand. First I discovered a minion, then I played a sunwalker so as not to kill it straight away. And after he attacked into it, I used earthen ring farser to restore his minion to a full health! By this point he had 5 cards left in his deck and promptly conceeded!
When you silence a minion, it losses the tag of "beast", "mech", "murloc" etc?
It's countered by zoo and Pally which are pretty big decks right now, and even if you do manage to go face with it before it gets peacekeepered a card that does 8 damage and discards a third of your deck sounds fucking awful
Looking forward to the day you release; "How good is Angry Chicken?"
5:10 the talking stops
What if you just played it on turn 7 with a silence?
So a 3-cost Mountain Giant is usually no big deal, but a turn 5 Fel Reaver is for some reason a huge threat, likely to win you the game, and worth discarding half your deck? Don't get it.
tayyib shahid SeaGiantagainstzoo
QuantumBraced check out some of the mech shaman decks floating around with fel reaver. its a pretty brutal high dmg deck and youd be surprised how good it is. if you get down an early fel reaver and they have no answer it rly doesnt matter if you discard a few cards. it doesnt take many cards in the deck to finish someone off pretty qucikly so the discards dont rly hurt you.
QuantumBraced I think the main benefit of Fel Reaver against the Giants are that it has no immediate (note: direct) drawback, because it has no prerequisite like the giants do. E.g. No cards = no mountain giant, no enemy zoo = no sea giant, etc. But after a few turns, Fel Reaver becomes crap if opponent keeps running through the deck while stopping it from whacking face.
QuantumBraced when have you had a turn 3 with 9 cards in your hand?
Anal Destroyer Tapping warlock dumbass.
I have to say it: I am scared of playing this card in Arena but when I have no choice I pick it.
The games were fucking crazy. I would have never do it so early. Wow... that's why he is Kripp
if you don't play it as early as possible, it will be not be as big relative to the opponent's minions.
I feel like the Fel Reaver was a really poor attempt to make the idea of a giant card more viable outside of warlock. It doesn't work, the drawback is WAY too strong. Trump was the only person I've seen really try to defend the card and yet I still haven't seen him draft it successfully into a deck. If it had charge or really ANYTHING else. Maybe if it only burned two cards. But as it stands, the opponent usually has an answer and if he doesn't, well say bye to half your deck anyways. If you want to run 8/8's, just run handlock.
Half of your deck , no biggie , you won't need that half as a mindless aggro anyway
CollegeLion Its a mech for one. And can also be easily silenced post play.
I had some success with fel reaver with a priest silence deck. It was pretty gimmicky, but I had all silence and all drawback cards with wailing soul especially.
oh damn, I remember playing that, good times 🙂
Fel Reaver's ability is actually a buff since you can better predict what your draws will be since your deck is smaller, but your opponent can't do the same without knowing your deck.
I agree, but only in arena and only when you do not discard/draw your entire deck. (Arena only because in constructed with the two card limit your opponent can use discard intel.)
I think it's still ok in some aggro decks.
But why don't you just use sea giant instead?
The problem with Fel reaver in constructed is that, in an aggro deck, you'll spend 5 mana for a minion which does nothing on the turn its played. That's a pretty big risk, because if it eats hard removal or gets BGH'd you'll loose so much tempo you probably won't be able to recover.
I'd never pick Fel reaver in arena tho, because then the discard drawback actually becomes relevant.
Hi could someone explain me why is Dr.Boom played so much? I am not so good at HS and I noticed (how Kripp says) that almost everyone is running it.
read War Golem, then read Dr. Boom and his bots.
It has good stats (7/7 for 7 mana is ok), and the two bombs have a very good chance of dealing significant damage to the enemy's board. Also, this is one of the least situational cards in the game. If you are behind, you can use it to immediately develop or fortify your board presence, while gaining the ability to partially clear the enemy board. If you're ahead, it helps you keep your advantage. It doesnt have a strong weakness to board clear, as the 1/1-s have strong deathrattles, nor it is against silence, as the main body you summon with it basically has no text.
Soma Mányoki Thank you so much :)
It's actually a 9-9 because the boombots count as a 1-1. It's also very sticky since nothing really counters both Dr. Boom and boombots. Even though there are a lot of big game hunters out there to counter this card, big game hunter is actually strongly countered by the boombots. Since bgh has 2 health you are pretty much guaranteed to kill it and do strong general damage to the opponents board.
There aren't many single cards to deal with one big body and two smalls ones, and there also aren't really ways to play around the Boom Bot Deathrattles. Big Game Hunter can come close to trading 1-for-1 with Dr. Boom (which is why there's so much Big Game Hunter,) but frequently dies to a single Boom Bot and it's Deathrattle, or the Boom Bots might blow up things even stronger than the Big Game Hunter. The best way I could personally think of to nullify everything that Dr. Boom does is to use Mass Dispel and Shadow Word: Death: Mass Dispell cantrips so you go 1-for-1 in card advantage, but you're opponent still has two 1/1's. Well, there's also Deathwing, and he's not dying to the bombs I guess.
Generally though, Dr. Boom is so good, that as long as you aren't dead next turn, he's usually your best play: there's almost never a bad time to play Dr. Boom.
I wish Kripp would do a few quick remakes of videos reviewing cards that "sucked" because of BGH and silence... A lot of cool cards have gotten better with Whispers of the Old Gods, and therefore the review will be different.
Once my enemy threw this to my face. He had 18 cards in his deck left. When the turn ended he had 3 left, next turn I fatigued him a bit then killed Fel Reaver. Such a good card, really.
I once took out a third of a person's deck after they used Fel Reaver. It was byoutiful.
It really doesn't matter if they y can use fell reaver at right time they would won
shuvo rahman I know. With the right conditions, Fel Reaver is decent. However, against an Aggro Hunter (which is what I was using at the time), Fel Reaver just burns away your deck as cheap card after cheap card is played.
yes things could go real bad sometimes
whenever someone plays a card against kripp "OMG top deck"
Fel Reaver is too risky in arena. The arena meta is very strongly dominated by Paladin and Mage, and when you play Fel Reaver and a Paladin Aldor Peacekeepers it (or sometimes Humility), you will lose. Likewise with Mage, if she Frostbolts it one turn and then catches it in a Blizzard another turn, you'll lose half your deck and be no closer to getting the kill. I took it as a Priest (the other cards were Shadowbomber and Hungry Crab) and the first two games Fel Reaver was indeed Aldor'd and frozen, so for most of the remaining games I often designated the Fel Reaver to bench sitting unless I could win the game with it in a couple of turns by playing it. If I am ever offered the card in an aggressive deck, like a great Hunter one, I'll gladly take it, but from my first experience with it, I am not impressed. I'd rather take Venture Co. Merc anyday; has the same risks, but I don't lose half my resources when it does get punished.
i play 2 fel reavers with dr. boom and all silences (4) in my deamon(ish..) zoo deck and it owns. Turn 6 coinning fel reaver + owl is super op.... forces (as max) an (like kripp said) bgh and let´s u play a safe dr. D(b)oom on turn 7.
But if u play an undertaker (Nax and pre-GvG zoo) deck, don´t go for fen and just go doom...
all in all, going zoo for 5h get´s u rank 5 no matter what.
First time this card was played against me was in arena. I was stupid enough to start playing all the low mana cost cards i had in hand to make him lose cards. He did lose some great cards such as baron rivendare, jaraxxus, doomguard and twisting nether but somehow he came back and one.
i thought i'd win from him playing this card because he had no cards left in his deck and i had like 17. but, he won. Still amazes me to this day. I guess because it's a 8/8 and he still had big minions in hand.
vry cool to watch
I doubt that Kripp would have known that Fel Reaver eventually becomes a staple of Aggro Druid. You Innervate that thing out on turn 3 (or turn 1) and watch your opponent struggle to deal with it.
i see this card like anima golem. its combod with silence, so you can dump it at turn 5 with a priest with the 0 silence card. with a warlock you can dump it at turn 8 and eat it right away with the dog. that sort of combos, or maybe use the damn wraith next turn
I would love to see "Humility" in a Fel Reaver
I suppose in aggressive decks Reaver can be good since they usually draw about half of their cards before the game is decided, so losing the other half is inconsequential. Also unlike control or combo decks, they don't have key cards that they need to win a match. Losing a Flame Imp, Abusive and a Nerubian Egg matters less than losing Alex, Death's Bite and a Shield Slam, for example. It is also "good" once you naturally reach fatigue because at that point it doesn't have a drawback but that's a very rare scenario. Like Kripp said though, thanks to Dr. Nerf and a ton of Handlocks swarming the meta Big Game Hunter is a very popular card so Reaver is unplayable at the moment.
I'm pretty sure he does trigger fatigue, though. At least I remember it doing it when I faced it with a mech deck with lots of spare parts. :)
Oh, yeah, and I managed to freeze it three turns in a row.
MDoorpsy And I just got to the middle of the video and now feel like an idiot
wouldn't it be really useful in priest when combined with silence???
That might be the craziest tempo card in the whole game now.
if I was playing hearthstone and my opponent played a fel reaver I would gg on the spot too many bad memories
its not like doom guard, it usually discards 6 cards, and it doesn't have charge
But has much larger stats? And discards cards from your deck, not from your hand. The cards in your hand has way bigger value than the ones in your deck. Those hardly matters until you hit fatigue.
The Heavily Armed Squirrel So a charge doomguard that you can somewhat control what discards(by not having anything in hand) is worse then a reaver that in the best case discards a fifth of your deck because it has 3 less attack and 1 less health?
Killmekos2 I never said that it was worse. I think the Doomguard is awesome, and I would never replace the Doomguard with the Fel Reaver. But the discard from your hand, is still much worse than the discard from your deck, even though you can control it. And don't make 3 more attack, and 1 more Health not sound like a big deal. Remember we are talking same manacost.
The Heavily Armed Squirrel True, after thinking for a bit, I realized there are some cases where Fel Reaver is really good (when your opponent has run out of cards from his hand, and depends on topdecks only, when you're out of cards to burn, if you can silence it or give it taunt, or even windfury since the opponent most likely won't remove it the first turn so he can burn more cards from you, etc.)
It's still kind of a niche card that doesn't fit into many deck types, and requires very specific circumstances to make work without it hurting you too much.
Killmekos2 Well. My idea for it was a Zoo Deck. Zoo decks could use something very strong on turn 5, that dosen't remove your Cards. You can also give it taunt, or maybe even give it windfury with the Enhance-O Mechanic. (Gives random Windfure, Taunt or Divine Shield to all your minions) that I have seen in some zoo decks. I would probaly run it with Doomguard, since that Card is too good to not have. It also makes you able to quickly tap into some more Cards, before they are all gone. (Even though it is very rare for all your Cards to discard. Sometimes if you have two Down, or you play it late in the game.)
I want see playing this vs miracle rogue
i got against it as a rogue, it wass funny af, and with malygos+deadly poison+flurry it went away after the mill
Pretty good card. I´m running it in aggro druid. And if you draw in mulligan innervate + this little guy + a coin (in best cases) = most likely it´s pretty baaad situation for your opp. in second turn. :)

Hearthstone in a nutshell
I have a dream, that some day we will get the Nolife PoE Kripp back. Rest in Pepperonis Kripp
I've played the card but like every card you must look at the situation. For example, turn 2 i draw to fel, so now I know I have to develop a board before playing him. that way i could do even more damage in case they decide to "mil" me with cheap cards. I won easily because of thinking ahead. Over all its an ok card. Great with board control. They would have to kill it in two turns. z meanwhile you're adding more minions to the board to increase damage. And with the exception of flamestrike and the cheap concencrate then you're dead. Also a silence would be nice as well just in case your opponent gets tricky. but play it anyway for fun. Its fun to see your opponents reaction.
Oh yh another Kripp video, you know what that means!
Salt fo'dayz!
There's more salt in Kripp's videos than in every show of Masterchef combined
I actually want people to play this card. I play the Mill Druid deck now and it's really fun.
Its good in a rouge deck made by trump
missed lethal second game i cant believe it
love the shirt
I got this once in the arena when I played as a mage, I played the card, the enemy's turn and he basically forced me to destroy like 12 cards.
Another way to go about having this card in your deck is to use a silence on it. I mean might be a 'waste' of a silence but hey, some people did that with that one 4/5 can't attack monster before. :O
i always worry with cards like fel reaver and venture co merc.... what if i play the card, and the opponent aldor's it.. or humility... just something that makes the atk 1 or weakens it without erasing the text. if it successfully takes away a bgh or a polymorph or hex, im good with that... but if they just make it weak, im stuck disgarding a ton or even worse, no more minois for me, thay all cost 3 more.
That only applies to paladin though. And you can bait the Aldor's with other cards.
I feel like everywhere i look, Reynad is making a fool of himself
I think this card is insane (I went 10:3 with Warrior). But the best counter to it is Peacekeeper or humility.
PS: sorry for my bad english
I drafted this card for a mage, did I make a mistake? Cost me my first game
***** had the same thoughts
Fell Reaver + silence on turn 5= insta win
My best game with this was a Mage pulled this out me being a warlock I just kept him drawing and drawing til he had lost like 15+ most trolly game Ive played
Had 1 of these dropped on me today on turn 6, i dropped coin and 5 drop and frost bolted it, next turn annoyotron + yeti, next turn played 2 cards and killed it with yeti. Burned 21 cards and his deck was gone. I had 24 life. He conceded 2 turns later.
I've never had a game where this card helped me. Yes it has won me a couple of games, but those games wouldn't have gone any different if he was a spectral knight instead.
Kripps example games were, as usual, stupid lucky, Shaman no hex, mage no frostbolt (or freezing of any kind), his idea of bad luck is laughable to most of us who consider it average. Although he remains stupidly entertaining :P
This card is OP in midrange hunter
this card is very powerful vs druid in arena. Played on turn 5 = win
honestly i have brought all my oponents to fatigue that have used it. If the opponent has no removal or taunt yeah it can do work but really i have not seen it work out so far
It doesn't matter of you burn thair hand i made it to rank 7 so far with a fell reaver rouge deck
played that shit on arena and fatigue at turn 7
Why do Zoolocks not run Doctor Boom?
+HansL1337 Too slow, usually if you play zoolock and it's turn 7 and you don't already have advantage dr 7 won't help you much. Tho there are some more controlish zoolock decks that tend to run dr 7 they are a rare encounter. Usually power overwhelming and doomguard is all a warlock needs.
for this card to work on constructed i think they need to reduce the mana cost like lets say 3 so at least theres 1 turn before the big game hunter, but then again lotta class can remove this at the 3rd turn; That card is a risky play enough anyway so making it 3 mana cost is not too bad for it to work
its fine maybe disgard 2 cards
Making it 3 mana would make it stupidly overpowered.
why dont you basically silence it
LoL Dr. Doom!
5:13 to skip blah blah blah. Peace.
Someone needs to upload kripp's vods on yt. Or at least his notable games longer than 10 min :/
Most times this card just ruins your game, but i've faced it some times in arena, w/ no answers, and kind of 5/1'd me. Yes, the oponent lost about 9 cards, but the remaining 21 were enought to get him the game. Sometimes.
Serious talk mr. kripp when do you get ur ass again into poe ?
Fel reaver carried my ass to my first time above 3 wins all the way to 7 wins! My friend was giving "advice" (trolling) and I whent yolo reaver nearly every game. People start panicking when they take 8 to the face.
Kripp is Ray Mysterio?
Best way to use it is by silencing it.
Next video. How ResidentSleeper is Hearthstone...
I got three innvervates and fel on arena... you are in first turn With eight eight dude on the board… its kinda like five turn loss for opponent
Just drafted this in arena, had 1 card left in my deck and it was the opponents turn after I played this. Was on 7 health, and he destroyed the last card in my deck - a bomb from an iron juggy. This mean't the bomb didn't explode and I won on my next turn. Kappa.
Dr. Boom is one of the most overpowered cards in GvG imo.
H O R S E N
FACE Kreygasm
such fel. much reaver. wow.
How about Fel Reaver + Nozdormu? xD They'd really have to think and play fast.
Don't forget Mogor the Ogre for ultimate fuckup.
This card should be renamed to "Free 100/400 dust"
Just played against this with Dragon Pally. Used Aldor Peacekeeper then proceeded to mill his entire deck
rekt
I had this card in one of my arenas and i lost like half my deck because of it, BUT HOWEVER it is just such a big drop he couldn't deal with it and i just killed him with complete board control.
I've faced Fel Reaver 4 times in Arena... 3 times I burned the opponent's full deck and they died to fatigue, and 4th time I Poly'd the Reaver after I burned 9 of their cards and it took out my taunt. My experience against it means I will never draft it. Toooooo risky.
Reynad said unstable portal is the most op card in gvg, not fel reaver. He did say fel reaver is amazing tho
One time I drafted Fel Reaver in arena. First game I played was a priest. First hand was Reaver and I was like fuck no I'm not using it. The priest mind visioned it and played it turn 5. By turn 7 I burned his while entire hand and he quit.
dat D2 shirt
kripp will take a card....and then play it!
I got 4 spells in hand with conseald auctioneer in arena, topdecks bomb lobber. Pls no PJSalt
