      I disagree Netflix didn't do a good job. Whether it's the script or bad/inexperienced actors the acting and delivery of dialogue felt unnatural and cold and the characters especially uncle iroh and soka don't have the same charm they had in the original animated series. Not to mention it feels like they assume the audience is stupid and seem to spoon feed plot points to us. Not to mention it feels like less happens the long live action episodes than in the shorter cartoon episodes

    • @Sokkawakkawakaa
      @Sokkawakkawakaa 9 месяцев назад +12

      I actually laughed at Sokka's jokes and his expressions, and I cried in many uncle Iroh's scenes. the script could be better, but this is a massive upgrade from the movie and at least a fun show. many people who hasn't watched the OG actually felt the expositions quite helpful, although I agree they could tone it down in that part. Og show watchers tend to be very critical about this part as they already know the story for years, but actually, even Katara's exposition intro is played in the beginning of all 61 episodes and people r okay with it. It does feels less happens in the 1 hr format show vs 20 minutes episodic show because you dont have room to breathe like the 20 mins show.(no breaks) the 20 mins show only covers 1 story each episodes and is literally a kids animation show, you get time to breathe in and absorbing the show doesn't feel as heavy, whereas live action show has to mashed 3 animated episodes stories to 1 episodes and connect the plot to have the same motive and lesson + it being live action the feel is gonna be grander and heavier, so naturally 1 hr show would feel less longer than what it actually is because of the packed storyline. for the troubles and budget they got, they did a good job, 7.5/10.@@benmorris7276

    • @benmorris7276
      @benmorris7276 9 месяцев назад +14

      @@Sokkawakkawakaa I grew up watching the original I felt with the Netflix adaptation that his jokes didn't really land the same and he was missing his charm the delivery just felt cold or poorly acted. With uncle iroh net Flix seemed to make his character too serious he lacked his care free charm and insightful wisdom. The writing on the live action just didn't land well. And trying to mash 3 episodes into one does not work at all this is just my opinion I do not find that Netflix did the last Airbender justice with this live action adaptation I get that they tried to make it more serious and adult but my stuffing 3 different episodes of plot in to one episode it made it feel like they had to spoon feed plot points to the audience. If they just stuck to 1 or episodes of plot I feel they could have added more details and painted a bigger picture. But also the chemistry with the cast just wasn't there and the acting felt cold, unnatural and forced

    The fire flakes is very similar to a traditional South Indian snack, we call it "Sandige" in my language. But we don't add shrimp stock to it. We just boil the tapioca pearls with water, salt and cumin seeds, scoop small quantities on a large piece of cloth or plastic sheet and dry it in the sun. Once its completely dried, we fry it in oil and serve it with our meal to snack on the side. Very interesting to see a dish similar to that in your video. Love from India! 🤍

    5:50 it really is amusing to consider how expensive certain dishes can become when contending with ingredients that are not native to your area. My immediate first thought was “who the heck would spend $30 on a bag of morels?” Then I realized morels are kind of considered boujee in areas where you can’t just go mucking in the woods in the early spring to find some. Without remembering precisely where the soup shows up in the show, I’d like to think Katara would consider that soup rather humble and common place for when the ingredients are in season, only to get absolutely shocked at how it would be considered a priceless delicacy in other areas.

    So I grew up foraging Morel Mushrooms with my family. They sell for VERY high prices, but we would have our special spots and some years end up with pounds and pounds of fresh morels. If you dredge them in flour and fry them up in butter they have a very meaty texture/taste and pair very well with steak or other richer meats. The best time of year to forage for them is late spring early summer.

    I loved this video. I hope you make more recipes from this cookbook. I am a huge fan of Avatar the last Airbender. Bringing their food to Life is so exciting. I didn't know that there was an actual cookbook, I ordered it as soon as you held it up to the camera. I really want to make the stuffed tofu puffs. The cabbage cookies looked amazing. I wonder if adding caraway seeds would add even more flavor to them. The fire nation shrimp crackers looked amazing as well. I love spicy food 🔥

    morel mushrooms grow wild all over the place in Oklahoma, you can literally pick them as you're walking thru a tree belt (like a very small growth of threes in the middle of farm/grazing lands). so hearing things like that package of mushrooms was $30 is INSANE to me 😲

    11:56 Mashed taro is way better than potato mash!! Here in DR, taro is quite common, and I often have it mashed, amazing ❤️
