Let me know what your favourite colour is, and if you have any favourites I haven't got yet 😉 I plan to post every Sunday so subscribe if you want to get my videos in your feed!
you make the best swatching videos on the internet. I completely get into the zone. It's quite psychedelic and I totally relate to the ecstasy you convey. So much fun. some of us just don't need any other drugs. I'd call that a good thing. I' ll watch any and every swatching video you post. How about showing the colors on different papers, or how they mix. Just let them shine and tell us all about them and how you feel about them...... I'll ditch any movie for it.🤩
Thank you for sharing these. I can watch swatching for hours. I know, some of us are bit weird like that. I have been collecting RS pans for quite some time whenever there is a Jackson's sale. Haven't got to swatching all them yet. I think once that watercolor bug bites you, it's hard not to be become obsessed with the pigments and colors especially as they mix with water and then dry. I'm quite sure it's an addiction (without regrets) but Roman sure knows how to play to our weakness.
I'm also in the swatching weirdo club, I can watch it over and over again, it's so soothing to my brain! And so meditative to watch the paint moving on the paper and in water, it's a mental health investment 😊😊
Roman Szmal's Quinacridone Scarlet is one of my favourites - I'm very picky about reds and it's the perfect warm red without crossing too far to the orange side.
One of the best ever watercolour swatching videos! Love everything about it. Your voice is so mellow and full of the joy in colour. I have some of the Roman Szmal paints and love them. I’ll now be buying more. Thank you for a hugely enjoyable experience.
Thank you! I am in Vancouver Canada and have recently bought some of the Roman Szmal pans from Gwartzmans in Toronto which I believe holds the Canadian distribution for them. Beautiful colours!
Jessica- Just got an email form Jackson's that the Roman Szmal Autumn Green is back in stock (2-16-23). I just grabbed one. Hope you can catch it before it goes back out of stock.
Thanks for these swatching videos. I don’t have any Roman Szmal paints yet as full pans wouldn’t fit very well in my current storage, but I see Jacksons now sell half pans in some colours. The colours are so vibrant I will have to try. When you are doing the swatches, I would love if you could write the names & pigments first. My memory is poor (Long Covid) but helped by seeing the written info at the same time as listening to your interesting comments. I guess other people might prefer not…
Ah that's a good point, thank you for the feedback - I also have a bad memory so I always have to write things down when watching other people's videos 😅 I'll do that in future (though I already have another video prefilmed so that won't be the case for that one). Indeed, they just released half pans, a much more space-efficient way to try out the paints! I hope you love them!
Just to agree with and add to what dancing paint brush said. I too have a terrible memory. Not in the normal day to day bad memory where you occasionally forget things that you feel you should remember, but as in you say the colour, then paint it and talk about it, before you have finished painting, I have forgotten the name of the colour and have to skip back to hear it again. Yes I could write it down, but then I'd have to write the name of every paint as you said it, then I'd get confused as to which name went with which colour, and honestly, I'd be guaranteed to forget to write some of the names down even while sat with my pen in my hand listening 😂😂😂 don't worry though, I definitely write down the names of those I want! 😂 Other than feeling a bit confused which is honestly quite normal for me, I'm really enjoying your videos and I'm going to work my way through them, your enthusiasm is infectious and the swatchening is very helpful as I decide which paints to splash out on, thank you very much 😊
Great part 2. I really like your big swatches. So, I've added Misty Morning, Perylene Green, Caput Mortuum, Iron Chrome Brown & Shadow Grey to my wish list thanks to your lovely video 💝💌🎁
Climber! Pigment nerd extraordinaraire! Salute, sister spirit Jules✨ Here's to making glorious colorful messes! So very pleased to have made your acquaintance 😊🌈🌲
PS. 62 Roman Szmal paints (but thanks to you I'm adding the ultramarine violet, perylene violet, and... oh, hell, who knows, 'cuz they're on sale at present)
These are really useful to see. I love Roman Szmal paints and I’m tempted by a few here. I also go more for turquoise and gold over primaries, ultramarine isn’t my favourite on its own. I think I’m sold on misty morning, I don’t know that a mix will work quite the same but I’ll try it out.
Thank you for swatching all these colors. They are all very beautiful and interesting pigments. I always went around Roman Szmal because of the lack of tubes. Perhaps I should really give the pans a try, they look amazing.
It's worth picking up a few to try, though I agree it's unfortunate that we can't mix and match pans in palettes very easily without tubes. However, I think they are plan on eventually making tubes! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video 🥰
Will you be showing a video of what you have painted with these paints? I just ordered 20 of Roman's paints and can't wait to see how they lay down on paper. I agree with you on the more earth tones. I love those over the primaries.
I hope you love them as much as I do! I will show some things I've painted with them of course but I have to add the caveat that I am far from an experienced paper, I really only just started getting into watercolours last year. But I will say that I find them the most satisfying paints I've used, there's just something about the way they flow... And I've heard others say the same.
@@chromaphile No matter how long each of us have been painting we are all learning. Your journey will be a great one, just paint everyday. The BEST smaller watercolor paper I've found is on jerriesartarama called Bee Watercolor paper. It's small enough to let you paint everyday.
Currently I just try and create something every day, whether it's a drawing or a painting- I am always juggling a few hobbies so I have to spread them out a little to not get burnt out on any 😅
I recently bought my first 2 half pans of RS. I'm so excited to use them (Viridian & Cobalt Coelin Blue) need more now tho. 😅 My Favorites would be Autumn Green, Misty Blue, Shadow Violet, Mineral Violet... Lazurite, Malachite.. Przybyzs' grey, Viviane.. exits too many beautiful colors 😭😆
@@chromaphile Yeah I can imagine.. RS had such a stunningly range of colors. It's hard to resist because, so many favorites that hits exactly my taste!

I got them from Amazon DE at this link, I'm sure they're available on Amazon in other countries too- the brand is Pandahall! Thanks so much for watching 🥰 amzn.eu/d/ap6A4WX

I know this is a hard question but which would be your 10 must have Roman Szmal colors? we know quin cherry red wont be one of them... lol
@@mua4ever632 quin cherry red is a beautiful paint, just not for me indeed 😁 I think I may have to make a video for the top ten, it's going to take me too long to think 😂

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope I can keep making relaxing and fun videos for you 😊
