Hmmm. It makes sense that the Indigo looks greenish. PBk7 is the black pigment that makes Perylene Green. Actually, Roman Szmal's Perylene Green Deep is my favorite version of it! And as for what new Roman Szmal colors I have chosen......All of them. I got all of them. Cuz I have no self control and Roman Szmal is one of my absolute favorite brands.
PBk7 isn't Perylene Green, that's PBk31, and PBk32 is Perylene Green Deep :) but it still makes sense since PBk7 is a relatively warm black (I found that out in my video mixing with black watercolours). I was so close to getting all the new colours but my bank account said no...
I just found your channel and I’ve subscribed and hit like. I enjoyed your video and can’t wait to go back and watch your older videos. I don’t know why RUclips doesn’t put everyone in my feed and let ME choose!! I’d have loved to have found you earlier. Still…I am very grateful I finally found you tonight 😊
I too get sooooo excited when my new RS paints arrive!! 🥳 i chuckled when you said “not the straightest circle in the world” as circles are not straight. Too cute! ❤
*Very happy to be among your first 1000!* I'm having a crazy good time with the Goethite. I'd wanted the Daniel Smith tube, but the price was off in dreamland. The Roman Szmal full pan is less than half that price and the quality is nonetheless excellent. (Right now, Roman Szmal paints are on promotion on Jackson's - and YOU, girl, need a Jackson's affiliate link!!!! 😀)
Oh that Quinacridone Warm Scarlet 😮 the sun was that exact color tonight as it was setting! It's gorgeous! You have some real winners there, I can't wait to get my hands on some of these new colors! I think you're going to l love mixing with the Goethite, it is like Buff Titanium on steroids lol. Congratulations on your 1,000 + subs, I am so excited for you!
Thanks so much 😁 indeed I'm in love with all of these, I think there's some real sleeper hits (the gamboge hue?!). I can't wait to play around with them more
Yes, definitely pressed like and subscribe. Really nice choice of colours/pigments in this "haul". My local art store sells RS so methinks I'll have to do a sneaky "pop in" in the next couple of days as there's five of these I now "want" 😆, added to my already long list. Ho hum! NEVER enough paint or art supplies in general 🤔. Cheers
New paints is a perfect way to celebrate a milestone. Congrats and I can't wait to see more videos from you because your love of color is infectious and inspiring!
This is fabulous, so pleased for the 1000 subs! I got myself eight of the new ones too, absolutely adore them. I also bought myself a Cosmotop Spin mop brush because of you and now I've got a size 0, 1 and 2 😁
@@chromaphile definitely the Aquarius Violet! I got Nickel Tungsten Yellow, Bismuth Orange, Quinacridone Warm Scarlet, Raspberry Red, Strontium Violet, Aquarius Violet, Benzimidazole Brown and Urban Grey. The Urban Grey is another astonishing colour which granulates amazingly, I think you'd like that one too!
Beautiful paints! I added a couple to my wishlist. LOVE the Aquarius Violet especially. Wondering which paint you didn't swatch. You bought 16 but swatched 15. ☺
So many beautiful colors 🥰 I had to get strontium violet and raspberry red and I'm not disappointed! I really want to try pr207, especially that I prefer roman szmal's version of pr209, I find theirs much cleaner than the other brands.
Congratulations on your milestone!🎉 I am glad you got the chromium oxide green, I love this green and do not understand how much people dislike it. Now, that quinacridone warm scarlet, that one I am interested in the comparison to quinacridone cherry red. It may just be my eyesight or the pan I have, but quinacridone cherry is moline neon salmon and I hope the scarlet is prettier. And I kind of love that gamboge. Thanks for the video😘
Thanks for the lovely comment 😁 I'll definitely do separate videos to follow up on all the comparisons, I'm so excited. Though I already know that the warm scarlet is unfortunately almost identical to the cherry red.
i have old Talens Rembrandt version chromium oxide not liked much when iget Schimincke Horodam i like it. and problem in first i feel bit hard get strong hue. and many hate becouse its opaque. to me opaque have own uses also black and white pigments.and i talk even in watercolour.
OK…FIRST: am I the only one burning with envy and adding paints to next months wish list? 2nd..Are you on Denise’s discord? I’m thinking it might be time for a…maybe not a 12-step program, but maybe something like Rational Recovery? I had a million IMPORTANT things to do this weekend. What did I do? Talked about paints and pigments, mulled some of my “hummingbird wing gray” (mulled PB35 + PR233 together); a little darker version with some of my PB33 (oh I LOVE these cool grays! Who knew grays could be so beautiful! 😂). Best friend comes over “have you even STARTED on the living room yet?!?” Well, see….pigments, paints & my new mixes for the next 2 hours. Thankfully, she’s a retired art professor…she’s not as bad as I am, but she understands….kinda Going through my box of tubes I got this month: “Elaine…it’s GREAT that 98% of your pans and tubes are single pigments and I get some vary by brand…BUT 10 PR108’s?!? 3 PY53’s? 6 PR102’s? 5 PY35’s 6 PB29’s 5 PB60’s and on and on??!? 🤯😖. Plus I have 3 “student” sets, a box of professional Chinese Paint chips, 2 boxes of student grade tubes…lost track of my ink sticks, all my “toxic” stuff up in my cabinet…come to think of it, I think that’s where I put my ink sticks…they aren’t toxic, I just have Dr Kitty Leela, who gets high on them..😹 Anyways….after watching your video, instead of doing paperwork I need to mail tomorrow…I did about 1/2 of a mixing chart with my newer paints. I’ve been in and out of the hospital recently and for some reason, they have an issue with my big tin..basically like my primary palette. They don’t trust if I had any toxic paints (I left my gamboge chunk, cinnabar and PB33 at home!! 🙄😡) that they were “secure” in my tin palette on the cardiac unit. Not sure if she thinks I’ll be serving cadmium appetizers and cobalt shots from my hospital bed…for heavens sake, they already make me stay in a room right across from the nurses station….probably because I know how to unhook myself and either head down to the cafeteria for my strawberry shortcake…or…I DID sneak out a few months ago. I only live a few blocks away and needed to check on my Princess and reset her FaceTime camera screens. No harm done, I was back in 15 minutes! I think it was my nosy nurse practitioner daughter in Buffalo who told them to tie me up in 4-points. I was in for anemia and an arrhythmia, not a violent psych episode! Anyways, the supervisor told me if I HAD to have my paints with me, 1. I’m allowed ONE airtight palette. (Oh, yea…I got Liz to bring me my other 2 tins…) 2. NOT a palette crammed with 50 unidentifiable pans..she wants to make sure there’s no “toxic” pigments. So, last month I bought one of the Mjello palettes..I think it has 20 wells, but I also glued a few other necessities into the middle (the majority of my paints are in half and full pans…so, this month I bought some tubes of basics. But necessities like some of my Rosa’s, handmade paints like my full pan of PO49 🤷🏼♀️. Sorry…on top of being a pigment addict, my ADD has been in overdrive and I won’t take medication. My pigments and Kitty Leela…and cooking..THOSE are my “medications”. 😉. (And writing way too long YT comments….😁)
I don’t buy yellows unless it is in a set and I can’t avoid it…but I like Chinese orange and quinacridone gold…I love caput mortuum and I have noticed I have 10 different versions of it…that might be a few too many…I did get a po49 from Etsy a few months ago!
Quinacridone gold is so pretty as a mixing yellow, why would you ever need another yellow! 😂 I do want to explore more yellows but mostly from a scientific perspective...
