I love your Art. Hopefully, with much practice, I can learn to create sketches with watercolours that are near as good as yours. All of your videos are a delight to view. 😊
I am fascinated by the simplicity, calm and your extraordinary skills which soothe me and inspire me to start sketching… since I’ve wanted your videos, I have started to look at buildings and areas in my city and suburbs, with different eyes. And (I’m trying to snapshot some nice spots, while driving through the city…psssst!). Thank you
Love love love everything about your videos, Jillee. Your calming voice loaded with lots of tips is so therapeutic and ranks as highly as your beautiful art. You have given me more belief to trusting the process.
I'm enjoying you today. Your confidence and ability to stretch forward with quickness and agility. You help break up the day with confidence and always a pleasure to watch. Thank you.😊❤️❤❤🎉
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. I really appreciate you showing how to mix the colours first, as a beginner, it helps a lot. I already practiced with one of your videos, inking first. It was fun to do. In this video I like both sketches but I think last one a little more because it looks more loose. It is a little more scaring painting first and then inking but I'm sure it will be fun too, I'll try! Also I find your videos very relaxing, your voice and how gentle you are while painting 😊
You do this exactly how I wanted to do this. I never did get it right and now I moved on to acrylics. I really did love urban sketching tho. You did that perspective great. Your work looks really good. Thanks for sharing with everyone.
I found this very interesting and enjoy they way you share your thoughts and approach throughout. I like the first painting the best although both are lovely in their own way. Thank you for sharing.
I agree that the second sketch has more details in the color, but I would still choose the first one because of how clean it is. It just calms me down looking at crisp artworks.
I love those TWSBIs! I need to fill one of mine with a waterproof ink and give this a try. 🥰😍 I also get carried away with my paint splatters at the end. 😅
Two beautiful sketches! I do love the second one a bit more. The perspective and color application make it very interesting and a joy to observe. I also love your line work. Thanks for letting us in on your secrets 😀.
This is incredibly beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I’ve been trying to pick up painting, and your style of painting seems more forgiving for beginners cos even if we paint out of the line, it’s part of the style! Looks really beautiful 🥰
I like the watercolor first layer followed by ink- although with you it doesnt seem to matter much! I like the longer, real time videos because of your narration.
I like the 2nd one just a bit better, as you said the colors were a bit bolder and the painting overall was looser. Your videos are so peaceful and calming, I love your style and gentle voice. I’m finding myself in a better mind frame after watching your videos because of that. Amazing work JilLee!
superb example of loose/looser. I personally prefer the looser one - its got more dynamics, life, soul, excitement and interest. It flows easier and the composition is fully complemented in all aspects of capturing a scene in an essence of time with what the eye thinks is important without overthinking the work. The removal of some details makes the work uncluttered and focuses your attention on the important - without ever feeling wanting more......
Thanks for the video, it's great! I'm just starting out but this is what I aspire to! Thanks for sharing. I preferred the second sketch - thought it was more lively. Also, your voice is lovely and soothing.
I love this!! So interesting that you use the Broad nib TWSBI Eco for this! I usually only see X-Fine nibs being used for drawing, so this is unique. I don’t think I have Noodler’s Brown, but I will definitely check it out for it’s water resistant properties. :) Thank you for such a carefully curated video.
Both sketches are very beautiful in their own way! I really can't decide which one I like better. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and tips with us. Love from the US ♥
Both awesome, thank you. On the second one, I thought you seemed to transition from loose to more structured and detailed so they ended up looking very similar.
Thank you. I've learned a lot at my 73 years young. The only thing I'm curious about is why do artist splatter dots? I love the clean undisturbed beauty on the work alone.
Hello Jillee! I am loving your videos and this one is particularly fascinating! Superb job on both paintings, they are both wonderful in their own specific ways. I happen to be the person that loves detail, the more, the better, but I also see the beauty in the "loosesomeness" of the second version of the beautiful building. Looking forward to many more of your ink and washes, especially the storefronts, they are my own particular favorite! 👩🦳🖌️ Since today is my birthday, do you think you might have one that might be nearing release?🤔😅🎉🎉
DO U KNOW I AM WATCHING THIS VIDEO FROM INDIA, ASSAM. DATE 09-09-2023. YOU R THE ONLY ONE GREAT ART TEACHER FOR ME. U HAVE TAUGHT ME A LOT THANK U SO MUCH. TEACHERR!!!!
A note on water-resistant fountain pen ink: water-resistant, in this context, means ink that remains legible after being exposed to water. the ink might still smudge and bleed. as long as enough remains to read the text it is 'water-resistant'. for art, you generally want 'waterproof' ink. Platinum Carbon black has shown itself to be the most waterproof ink available for fountain pens. *keep it in a well sealed pen.* if it dries out inside a pen, the pen is now ruined. this goes any water-proof ink
1:21 thank you for sharing your materials! I was wondering what brown ink that you use for your fountain pen? I am so mesmerized that it doesn’t run when you paint over it. Both works are so beautiful!
This video was very good! And so are your other videos. But can u please do more real time tutorials? I am a begginer with watercolors and your videos are really helpful!
Thank you❤️yes the only problem with real time videos is that they are quite long (because I don’t sketch very fast), and some might not want to watch such long videos. So I am trying to do a mix of both long and short videos 🤗
@@JilleeArts oh i get it but just so you know i litrally paint and sketch along with u and followo ur instructions and steps! I REALLY enjoy dping sp and learn so much!
Very cool corner building. Side note: I'm not sure if you noticed but there's a bit of hiss noise during moments your not talking. This is the only video where I've noticed it so it could of been a one time thing.
Loved ur art❤ I've the same style but i sketch first then apply the first wash.i've recently created my yt channel hope it gets recognition like u soon❤
Thanks for sharing. My preferred style is to ink first although I have done paint first a couple of times. I’ve set my challenge to do the same building both ways on opposite pages in my sketchbook so will be interesting to see how I get on. I love your work and your subjects are similar to what I would choose. Thank you @catherinebsketches
I like seeing how you take the same subject and try again. I can identify from that an artist fallacy: artists draw one subject, only once and nails it 100%. Not true at all, and seeing this video shows how we practice the contrary. Focus on a subject a few times, try different techniques, and self-critique all outcomes.
So true! Many artists repaint the same thing multiple times, and each time can hopefully be a little bit better with some self-critique. Monet did his water lilies countless times and each painting was different, yet beautiful too💗
That loser that we've been relentlessly following for 27 years is sterile now. It feels like we've committed more time and resources to running him into the dirt than any normal, rational man would ever consider. And life as oddly passed US by. Weird how that goes. Are we actually losers by proxy now?
pretty. I personally don' like watercolours used so speciously like spot of colours decoring a drawing made by pen. I prefer when watercolours are used for painting, that means creating MASSES and FORMS with colour without pen borders
I love how this video shows another art hack: comparing your old works to your newer ones rather than comparing yourself to others
Much better to compare with your past self than anyone else 🌟
Amazing sketches! I just can`t choose which one is my favorite. You are an inspiration to everyone who loves urban sketching. Keep the good work!
Thank you so much ☺️💓
I love your Art. Hopefully, with much practice, I can learn to create sketches with watercolours that are near as good as yours. All of your videos are a delight to view. 😊

i prefer the one which you did in this video, it gives a more lively feel and the tree in my opinion looks way better because of the shading.
Thank you!💗
two very nice sketches, well done. I like the structures/straightness of the buildings in the first, but the looser colours in the second...
My favourite is your soothing voice❤
