    Maybe you've reviewed this before, but for those who don't know, Royal Talens "almost professional" student line of Van Gogh watercolors is very highly rated too. They have a pan set of of beautiful reds & pinks mixed w/violets & blues...beautiful colors and similar and similar to their more expensive Rembrandt line. I think they may just have more fillers and less expensive pigments. But they're still very good and I have the reds and pinks set...it's so pretty and so much fun!

      I haven't formally reviewed them but I do have some and would totally recommend them as the best student grade line in my opinion, and sometimes more affordable paints means one is more likely to actually use them which is the most important thing! They're definitely fun and absolutely beautiful

      I would love to see the pthalo green yellow mixed with titanium white or buff titanium. I think it would be very minty!

      Also I can't get over the green you dubbed apple green. It is so cheerful! Maybe it is appealing to me because it's 75 degrees in February here and I am enjoying our preview of Spring!

    Really enjoyed your commentary along the swatching. I hope you get to do the video 45:30 mixing different colours. I only have the Rembrandt granulating set + quin orange. This has given me some insights. I like green earth to add granulation to other colours, it is very subtle and effective. Thanks for this. I just subscribed and am off to see the rest of your Rembrandt swatches...asI want to choose 6 colours to complete a 18 colour palette

    I just watched a review of Rembrandt's "new" 46 colors. But it would be great to see their complete line as I may want to get their 48 color set at some point in the near future (maybe Christmas 🎄.) Thanks!

      I can recommend the dot card if you want to save some money and decide more specifically which colours you'd like!

    I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to Benzimidazolone Violet because that is one of my favorite Rembrandt colors. I'm glad you enjoyed it too :)
    I'm really curious about that Transparent Titanium White btw, it almost seems too good to be true. I will have to try it out myself soon!

      Yes that violet is really something special. I can't wait to try out mixes with the transparent white!

    😂 only a minute in and already laughing. I love your humor haha okay, now to the video! Oh! You need affiliate links to places here in the US 😂 well, Jackson's has a warehouse here, but I always have shipping issues when ordering from them. Not their fault. It has something to do with their website and my address. It's so odd. I have to have it shipped to my uncle's house, then have him ship it to me or I have to wait until I go visit my dad and uncle to get it 😤

    • @chromaphile
      @chromaphile  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ah I'm so glad you're entertained 😂 I'm not sure they'd let me have affiliate links for places in the US but I guess I could ask! That does sound like a very weird shipping issue...

      @@chromaphile It is odd. Everyone I've spoken to at Jackson's has been so nice. I couldn't have asked for better customer service. I'll just have to get you something from your Amazon list whenever I place an order at Blick or Jerry's 😉 to make up for not being able to order from Jacksons 😊

    Can you tell if the Cerulean Blue PB 35 smells peculiar? I have a tube and like the hue, but golly it's almost too funky to use 😬

    • @chromaphile
      @chromaphile  8 месяцев назад

      I can't say I noticed a smell, maybe there was something off with your tube? I'd email them and ask, maybe they'd send you a replacement!

    Underrated lol. They are all over RUclips. Real artists wouldn't pay that price but youtubers love them

      @chromaphile  8 месяцев назад

      Oh that's interesting, they're the cheapest artist grade paint that's available to me in tubes! They're like 9 bucks a tube here

      @nuitetoilee 8 месяцев назад +4

      The art materials someone chooses do not determine whether they're a "real" artist or not, and neither does whether they post about their art on RUclips or not.

    • @phillipstroll7385
      @phillipstroll7385 8 месяцев назад

      @@nuitetoilee not at all what I meant by real. By real I was referring to people whom survive by selling their original art works. Yes, it does make a difference. RUclipsrs aren't selling art. They are selling personality. If you aren't bright enough or honest enough to comprehend that you have much more to be worried about than looking to be offended by truth on the internet.
      Don't worry, we get it, everyone today is an artist. Even the infant soiling their diaper. Even the viewer whom spends more time trying to figure out what they are looking at than the effort of the person painting it. We get it. That's why RUclips less paid media is at channels. Negate everyone is so great and artistic.
      Don't worry sunshine, no one was singling you out. Which begs the question, if you believe what you said, then why do you feel so offended by it?

    • @phillipstroll7385

      @@nuitetoilee again, to be clear I meant people whom make a living from selling art. Whose overhead can't exceed the price people are willing to pay. People whom sell art and skill instead of personality and stickers. Which in and of itself is equally, if not more, talent driven. It takes more talent to sell oneself in an over saturated area where every monkey is doing exactly what they see. If one person reviews something you can bet your phone ten more will pop up the next day. That's a much more difficult environment to exceed in. However, that isn't the art of an artist. That's the art of a publicist, a marketer, an actor. All important but don't pretend.
