- Welcome to the greatest youtube livestream of the year where today we break Open TTD live the greatest transport tycoon game in existence! You might have played a bad roblox tycoon game in your life but you have never played a game like open ttd with its pure brilliant and brutal simulation of cursed management game multiplayer chaos. In the past we have tried factorio with 500 player but today perhaps if we are lucky we can get up to 500 players in open ttd! So strap yourselves in for a perfectly balanced youtube livestream!

Hey Spiff you might not see this but, I am a long time TTD veteran, if you really want to exploit the game. build 2 airports in 2 different cities, then build 5 buss stops around the city. (this will increase the population growth in the city) wait about 20 min = a 3k town will grow to 8k city = profit from the airports :) Also you can connect a train station to your airport for optimising the profits. Then once you have that down start working on expanding in to the industries. And remember to use a 2 lane trainstation with "stop" and "go" trains, this way you can have up to 10+ trains on a single track going . In conclusion I love your videos but you did not exploit this game nearly to the fullest

Pro TTD move is coal on opening hand (best distance/speed payoff for simple supply chain), then forest/sawmill into goods, followed up by passenger jets in large airports. Nice work Spiff!

Mango is The Spiffing Brit's fiancee and manages much of the stuff around this channel.
I don't know what else Mango have done or are doing, except the members only video editing and the podcast they have some episodes off.
I really don't know much more for certain, so that's what I'm comfortable replying with.

Someone please let spiff know you can use ctrl when placing signals to signal the entire line.... hold ctrl, left click (and hold) to place signal, then drag in the direction you want. You can set how close you want them to eachother on the signal menu itself.
Oh and also ctrl for diagonal terraforming and destruction

@MasterHellish-Gaming Actually one of my first games i ever played was Transport Tycoon (not the Deluxe Edition) back in 1997 on an Intel 80486 i got from my uncle, he had installed it and we didn't even had discs back then it probably came on 3.5" floppies.

I've been playing transport tycoon since I First played it in 2002 on a Windows 98 pc, now in 2023 I'm playing it on my phone, one of those games that never gets old.
OpenTTD is peak performance for the transport simulation game genre. Every genre reaches this year where the hardware is just enough to make the best game possible. After that, it's just artificially inflating system requirements, without improving the game any further.

Also for the record, my goal with the "Full Load" station was to swipe at Spiff's coal with a superior station rating - which I did. My real network was in the centre of the map and pulling me, I believe around 500k pounds a year by that point. I did later go to a different power plant and pull 30k pounds per trip on that Full Load coal.

From this stream (among others), i have concluded that Spiff is a wizard with a spellbook full of carefully considered spells, and Mango is a barbarian who runs into battle with a big axe and hits things real good 😛❤

I am so used to play the original TTDLX that the signals in Open TTD confuse me and I have pretty much been playing TTDLX since it came out.
I played Transport Tycoon Deluxe when it first came out. I have played more hours that I can count. I didn't even know OpenTTD existed for years as I kept playing it, I even had a vm dedicated to it and my other old games that ran on DOS.
I never got in to Rollercoaster Tycoon.
There is a successor to TTD, called Locomotion.
@@LeoInterVir Yes, I have that game... still prefer OpenTTD. Christ just didn't have it in him I guess. OpenTTD just is better in every way in my opinion. The only thing I like about Locomotion is that train tracks are curved instead of angled. Otherwise... to each their own I guess.

When the original Transport Tycoon came out I'd sit up all night playing it, Deluxe just made it so much better, can't believe it's been almost 30 years & I'm still playing it. I still have the original game discs too.

I'd like to know, if this is 100 players, how you managed to remove the rediculous vehicle limitation cap.
I recall hitting a cap, unable to get more vehicles. Wanting to build something new, I sold it, which the AI immediately capitalized so I couldn't replace it.
I would ruin your trains, just as easily as planes can be ruined. Sabotage is definitely a thing, except for ships.

shouldn't a hovercraft not like...need canal locks?
Hovercrafts don’t go up very far, they only hover a tiny distance above the water. You’ll still need locks to go up a meaningful amount over a short distance
A hovercraft has little friction while moving, but it also has limited power, like every other vehicle.
So, if it is too heavy and the thrust of the propeller is insufficient, it will also not be able to climb steep slopes

i wonder how does this Bus Glitch work? Tried it with the current version but didnt work so i guess its fixed?
I think it's transporting some passenger or something, within the same day. The calculation for reward depends on amount divided by days, which makes both extremes kinda overpowered. Of course, being really quick is kind of hard & the point - except if that's a division by zero. Note that the one-day transport is only 1-5 pounds.
Used to make McDonalds Sweet Tea. It was 4 lbs of sugar to 4 gallons of tea. I think that is 1.8 Kilos to 15 liters. I don't know metric.
