Fun fact about the scaling in oblivion! It's Broken! Just like everything else. The level scaling in oblivion gives enemies more health and better gear as the player increases in level, as you'd expect, BUT the player's damage (in normal non-bug exploiting play) does not and cannot keep up with enemy health scaling. This reaches a point where single bandits can take several minutes to kill, and by that point the player has such strong defences and so many potions that they are effectively immortal. So combat turns into drawn out slug fests where NOBODY is doing any real damage. Like two turtles beating eachother to death with damp noodles. fun.
What's the ideal level to stay at, then? I'm at level 33 (I think), and I'm just now getting a full set of daedric armor and weapons (haven't ventured out into Oblivion yet, as I am avoiding the main quest currently). Until recently, fighting enemies was a real slog, as they tanked damage and dealt out truckloads of hurt. Now, it's starting to inverse, and once I can start enchanting my gear, I suspect I will start dropping enemies a lot faster. I look forward to being overpowered, so I'd rather not overlevel and ruin it.
@@michaelsotomayor5106 I think the greatest damage output can be achieved with a fine iron dagger (for minimum weight) enchanted with 2-3 seconds of 100% weakness to magic, followed by a custom destruction spell with (from the bottom up - spell effects start from the bottom) 100% weakness to magic 2-3 secs, 1 sec paralysis, 100 drain health 2-3 secs, damage health 100 1 sec. These effects circumvent any elemental resistances too, with a fairly low spell cost. Then it's just 1 hit with dagger, followed by a casting or two of the "slayer palm" (name up to you). Anything goes down rather quickly. If you just wanna stab, you can enchant an amber weapon with 3*10 elemental damages + 1 sec soul trap. Pretty ok, but nothing compared to the above combo.
My Elven Sword of Autism one hits most enemies. It deals 15 Fire for 5 Secs and 10 Lightning for 5 Secs while simultaneously causing them to jump up in the air.

Fun fact about the first exploit: you can actually do this much earlier. after character creation, as long as you don't go to the cell door where the elf starts the script for the start of the game, you can crouch down and run into the left side of the hidden door that the blades open for Patrick Stewart. I loved how you could upgrade your jump ability and eventually could jump over houses to escape maddened guards! Wish they had jump upgrades in Skyrim!
If you make your jump height higher in Skyrim any method, you can jump higher, but at the peak of your jump you just stop and hover. Moving at all causes you to fall as if you created an invisible temporary platform.
Not just that, eventually you could jump over city walls and sometimes you would get catapulted thousands of feet into the air, then of course promptly dying on landing because acrobatics is in the true Bethesda fashion broken like almost everything else, lol (it was supposed to make you immune to fall damage at a certain value, but a glitch in the formula prevents that from happening).
The only one of these glitches/exploits I ever did was the duplication glitch. I used it to flood the streets of every city with cheese. Sheogorath had the right idea.

I love how exploting and exploits in oblivion are considered the game's flaw, yet in morrowind the possibilities of exploiting the shit out of the game is what is making the game amazing.
One of the first things I usually did was steal a big soul gem and make a machine gun amulet. Hundreds of shots add up even if they’re a few damage each…. Also not even an exploit but I made a pair of flying pants because there were basically no enchanted items to take up the pants slot.
@@Paladinfox Simply put, there isn't a cooldown on activating magic items. Only good with magic arrows that are limited, even then you might as well be a magic dmg mage. Lots of enemies will prolly take 8-20 arrows with best non enchanted stuff and maxed archery + agility. (for high lvls) Regular daedric melee will hit as hard per swing as the daedric bow essentially, and those become painful too very easily

I remember reducing magic cost in Skyrim. I didn't do it to cast spells, because by then I'd already realized they all kinda suck. I did it so my absorb health and stamina sword would stop draining charges. Enchanted warrior is so OP in Skyrim.
Right? Why limit yourself to one Todd Howard magnum opus when you can play two on modern consoles/PCs! In all seriousness, they're both totally different fun fantasy experiences, with the same amount of derpy antics. Oblivion has derpy NPCs, Skyrim has derpy exploits

Anyone wanting to give Oblivion a try, I highly recommend Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul mod. It adds too much to go onto in a RUclips comment, bit I honestly couldn't play the game without it anymore. Elevated Oblivion to be the best in the series for me... Also a fun obscure mod called Goblin Games Room, which adds a casino with various goblin-based mini games you can bet on. Super fun.

When i played oblivion a couple years before skyrim came out, i thought it was amazing. I was completely immersed in it for hours and hours. I was a bit younger, then when skyrim came out i had super high hopes. It was a good game, i think better them oblivion in alot of ways, but i think i had alot more fun in oblivion even putting like twice as many hours in it as skyrim.
I had more fun with Skyrim, and it's mostly because in Skyrim the atmosphere they created was so enchanting to me, however I don't find that same sense of enchantment and immersion with Oblivion. Just the little things in Oblivion annoyed the hell out of me, now don't get me wrong I love both, but If those little things weren't there, if it was more immersive (that's subjective I know), if the combat felt more responsive, if it had perks, maybe a graphics update, Oblivion would without a doubt be the better game for me. Also I prefer the music in Skyrim.
I played Skyrim first, and after playing Oblivion for the first time Skyrim was never the same to me. It seriously pained me to play Skyrim just because of the sheer lack of what Oblivion has. Skyrim used to be my favorite game, but Oblivion robbed that from me.
I love how the game doesnt let you equip the enchanted rings again after doing the exploit, almost like a safeguard so it doesnt risk resetting or somehow screwing up the boost XD
When he starts doing the dupes it looks like a stage magician "Look: With mega mind, i have 59 intelligence, now i'm taking off the mega mind. Don't worry, it only drops intelligence by 8. Now we're gonna dupe megamind, then equip one of them, now we're gonna dupe the one we didn't equip, nothing in my sleeves, and... alakazam! Now we have 59 intellingence without even having any megamind rings equipped ladies and gentlemen."
Maybe I'm late but my favorite exploit in the area I is a sprint towards the spikes full speed then jumping on them like a confused pole vaulter. There is a barrier above the spikes that you are able to sit on out of harms way from an melee enemy.
17:11 You can get into the arcane University using the paintbrush glitch, or just get your acrobatics/agilty up high with exploits and jump over the wall
I found this glitch on my own years ago and I still love it on play throughs :) I always made my base speed around 500 or so then use restoration on myself to fly and not die. Also you can use destruction skills to drain your skill and increase your base stats without the green bar by simply seeing a novice in the skill you're draining, doing that will increase your max level.
You can also attack whoever you're following too (sneaking or not) and since they're "essential" and it's not a "crime" attacking them, you can level up your 1 handed, 2 handed, blunt, sneak & archery skills as well (might be missing a skill or 2 but those are the main 5 I do anyway before killing or sneaking past the bear).
In that same room with the rats used to exploit sneaking, in one corner the roof sags down a little. Standing under it and spam jumping increases acrobática extremely quickly. I got level 40 sneak and acrobatics in just over 2 hours. Edit: Make sure you keep moving into the córner as you’re jumping, otherwise the roof will push you away and your jump will be higher/longer and mean slower skill increase

No need, just head to the local lumber mill.

So I put a ranged attack spell (the maximum damage that I could get for 1 charge) in an amulet with a pretty big soul, equipped it, pointed at an enemy, and spammed click.
