George Galloway wins Rochdale by-election in shock return to politics

- George Galloway has won the Rochdale by-election, defeating the incumbent Labour Party who finished a distant fourth.
Mr Galloway, from the Workers Party of Britain, ran on a pro-Palestinian ticket at a time when Sir Keir Starmer is under pressure to take a harder line on Gaza.
In his victory speech, he said: “Keir Starmer - this is for Gaza. And you will pay a high price, in enabling, encouraging and covering for, the catastrophe presently going on in occupied Palestine in the Gaza strip.”

A good man can not be elected as prime minister yet a bad man be selected as prime minister. I voted for George Galloway and the workers party of Britain.
He was kicked out of the Labour Party for inciting mutiny in the Armed Forces not for opposing the Iraq War (which he was hardly alone in doing). Big difference!

Once the Labour candidate scored an own goal, the decision was never in doubt. We will have political punters telling us this result will turn the status quo upside down, for the next few days and then it is back to business as usual.

The UK (and UN incidentally) sends more aid to Gaza than it does to Israel. {{ That aid could be used for the people of Rochdale - not going to happen either way }} . With all that aid incidentally (since 2005, more per capita than the Marshall Plan) the Palestinians could have built a new Singapore (or Lebanon - the old, good one). What I don't understand is why Richard Tice put forward an ex Labour councilor and MP to stand for Reform, who was in power during the grooming gangs scandal, who reported Katie Hopkins to Greater Manchester Police for 'hate crimes' because she named 'men of Pakistani heritage' as being the main culprits in said grooming scandal and who left office under a cloud having been accused of sending a 17 year old girl 'inappropriate texts..
Yep, that only makes sense if there's some nefarious plan to elect George, and Tice had to put a patsy in place to assist that.
