George Galloway Gets Grilled Over Big Brother Behaviour (2006)

- On 26 January 2006, Member of Parliament and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant George Galloway appeared at a press conference alongside Basketball star and fellow housemate Dennis Rodman. Speaking to a room of journalists, Galloway sought to explain his decision to enter the Big Brother house while a sitting MP and defend his behaviour a housemate, for which he had been criticised. He was asked about the infamous moment in which he pretended to be a cat, and whether he thought his appearance on the programme had helped his career and his party.
Nearly 20 years after his appearance on Big Brother, George Galloway has been elected as the Member of Parliament for Rochdale, with a lead of more than 12,000 votes. Upon winning, Galloway addressed Sir Keir Starmer, telling the Labour leader that his victory was "for Gaza". The war in Gaza was a prominent theme in Galloway's campaign, with Labour having withdrawn support for its candidate, Azhar Ali, after his comments on the Gaza conflict resulted in allegations of antisemitism.

it's kinda interesting how BOTH the videos of that 'cat moment' on RUclips have comments turned off - maybe because people like me would go on there saying JEeeeeeeesus KHRIST how do people freak out so much at a man having a laugh and being silly? Did nothing rude or insulting and yet people are like I WAS PHYSICALLY SICK ...I'm a young white man and am feeling pretty uncomfortable about being and older/ bald white headed guy because I'll be so harshly judged by everyone if I'm not just sitting around in a suit or typing on a computer. Fair enough - he wanted to connect with a wider audience and he's never shat himself about being misunderstood or criticised like 90% of the population

I was admittedly turned off when I saw a clip of him behaving like that but after hearing the reason I respect this man more then ever! God Bless you Mr. Galloway
