- Former Respect MP George Galloway objects to questions put to him over his role in the EU referendum. The London mayoral candidate said the questioning by Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics was indicative of a "childish discourse" in the EU referendum campaign, focusing on personalities rather than policies.
Querying when the interview would move on to substantial differences of opinion between the camps, he said: "Every question you have asked has been about me."

Because although you may disagree with him in many things he is to my knowledge principled, and great at making his case. There aren't many around like that any more.

@@espr7564 Well, considering the agressive questioning I would say he was the epitomy of being calm and reserved...he did'nt get up and punch anyone as far as I can see. Sometimes you have to raise your voice to be heard..otherwise you will be bullied...the BBC are great at turning an interview into a slug fest and they didn't get anywhere near that here with George galloway...

Never liked Galloway, but this smug, condescending interviewer was despicable. Managed to make this about the politics of personality about the issues, and wasted our time as well as his. I know nothing more about the issues, but I am now convinced that the BBC is no longer worthy of state enforced funding, collected from the public under threat of violence. End the licence.

He isn't hiding his political track record, he is open that he supported staying in the EU, and then retracted that support upon realizing the disasters that it causes. This is a sham. George Galloway was correct to stand up for himself. I used to dismiss everything he said out of hand. But I wish we had listened to him about Iraq. I also agree with him about Brexit.

I have just rewatched this clip in light of GG’s BBC interview in Batley and Spen a couple of days ago. I am no fan of GG but he is absolutely bang on about the BBC. He was 5 years ago, he still is now.

This interview is an excellent example of what bad journalism and disrespect for other people's ideas is. Very bad service delivered by BBC News in this interview.
He whipped the floor with her though. I don't agree with most of Galloway's political view points but appreciate his ability to debate honestly and whips the floor with journalists looking to skew things to meet their own agenda and narrative.
I agree. And I think it is one of the main reason that the remain side lost. They spent their entire time fighting the leave side rather than addressing the actual issue. When the time came to vote, the leave side had a big list of reasons that they had been arguing, and the remain side had a bunch of interviews with the remain side chatting about nonsense.
Good job, BBC. You made me sympathetic toward George Galloway. You and the EU sure bring people together.
Don’t really like George Galloway but he went up in my estimation when he spoke at the senate hearing in USA all those years ago. His view on Brexit and his belief in democracy cannot be underestimated. Well done George, you have converted a middle aged Tory to your way of thinking, no mean feat.

The thing that is most wrong with this video is not Galloways comments, but the videos chosen title and BBCs belief that this somehow showcases a good case to stay in the EU by attacking Galloway. Not only that but this upload is missing the vital context that evoked such a response from George. This is straight up propaganda due to this.

George Galloway really doesn’t do any favours with his aggressive prickly manner. Mick Lynch shows far better how to argue a case. The interviewer was fairly patient and the fact of him and Galloway sharing a joint platform was very valid.
