- A scene from the last season of Black Sails. Captain Flint goes up against a crewman from japan. Not necessarily a realistic show of how this match-up would always go, but fun to watch. For my money, the best-shot fight in the show.

I was so sad to see that pirate die. He was the coolest swordsman on black sails
me too. never had any dialogue but he was always a present background character. i dont think ive ever seen that in a show. was real sad to see him go

Join is smart here. It may be pretentious but one of the whatever samurai books out there says never show your opponent the same move too many times or they'll catch you out. Joji and Flint fought together all these years they don't underestimate each other. Flint is a very quick thinker and Joji is very skilled and versatile. He keeps switching up his style so Flint can't get the upper hand. It's luck from the fall that favours Flint in the end. After fighting all those pirates and then Joji Flint has such a fierce will. It may be really stupid of me to compare this but Flint is sort of like Batman in that regard. Sheer will and a plan for taking out his own men because the magnificent duplicitous bastard has a plan for nearly everything

For my money, the best-shot and best-choreographed duel on the show.

That samurai "being invincible" crap is nonsense. Pound for pound an Italian, or Spanish Rapier master would destroy a samurai. The katana is not a lightsaber.
Study history and warfare instead of ninja movies.
