    What a pleasure, watching Emma rock along and drop in some pearls of wisdom about how
    Robert Plant hit his notes with such force and energy; Led Zeppelin, one of the best Music Bands
    in history, and at this time we were spoiled with other great Bands like Deep Purple or Pink Floyd also
    on the go; Favourite Led Zeppelin song out of many switches between Fool in the Rain or All my Love;
    It will certainly be fun to see what Rock Bands Emma may cover next; Emma also manages to be ever
    more beautiful with each passing day.

    Hi Emma. So glad you chose the studio version of the song. As usual, the sound quality is so much better than the live versions and you can hear all the musicians at their best, all the nuances in the vocals, etc.
    This is actually an adaptation of Muddy Waters/Willie Dixon "You Need Love" (1962). The British band The Small Faces did a cover in 1966 called "You Need Loving" which greatly influenced Led Zeppelin's song. Robert Plant is mimicking a lot of singer Steve Marriott's vocal takes on this song. I hope you get to react to some Small Faces music sometime.

    • @lyndoncmp5751
      @lyndoncmp5751 Месяц назад

      The music has nothing to do with Dixon. Apart from a few lyrics, the song is a Zeppelin original.
      The only bit where Plant 'mimics' Marriotts line is "woman, you need it" but Plant is far higher in pitch and more powerful. He doesn't mimic Marriott anywhere else in the song.

    One reactor did mention about the backdoor man reference ,also "way down inside, inside" where, oh "I'm going to give you every inch of my love." 1969, I was a junior in high school standing across the street from the school when I first heard the song on radio ('69, it was a transistor radio). The radio sensors missed it. The song shifted the music I was listening and I've never turned back.

    Plant had basically two modes: a lower crooning sound and this seemingly endless upper register that ultimately led to surgery. He kind of started an arms race in male singers, as to who could sing the highest. Which wasn't deliberate but a side-effect of where he could go. How he managed to go on at that pitch for so long really baffles me.
