It was an honor to work on this project for Ed. He is one of the good ones for sure!
Good work guys!
The biggest fan of your channel. Who’s older Jase or Lando?
Great job 👍🏻
It's amazing how good it came out for such a short time. Nice job.
👏👏👏
Fantastic, man.
My hat is off to all the good folks who put their talents and sweat into this, just to put a smile on Ed’s face. I’ve followed this project since the rusted shards of the Nugget were unceremoniously dragged out of the woods, and watching this project take shape and snowball has been a joy. Well done! 👍
Oh wow the lock picking lawyer is here. Right on
Not the lock picking lawyer lol.
I didn't know the lpl watched Matt
I love how the RUclips community supports each other’s videos!
Oh look whos here. No locks to pick here lol
Treating elders with love and respect is a sign of human kindness.
Wrecked, sold for 200 dollars, worked for a year in the Sierra Nevada, got stuck behind a rockslide and sat for 30 years, was dragged through a RIVER when it was finally recovered, and spent 6 months in the shop...that little nugget's been on one HELL of a journey. Great job getting it back to its owner!
"and spent 3 years in the shop"
6 months. When he said 3 years he was talking about how long a build like that would normally take.
"that little nugget's been on one HELL of a journey. Great job getting it back to its owner!"
There's not much left of it now; just the frame (though they cut some stuff off it and made some other modifications to it) and a few odds and ends. The entire body and entire drivetrain came from different vehicles.
Thank you for the opportunity to be involved in the golden nugget build for Ed!! Seeing the pure joy Ed had made it all worth it! We loved every second of it !!
Thank You Robby Layton team for the month of sleepless nights you dedicated to this project!
Hey I just watched your video and the pumpkin wasn't in the tree by the Nugget while you were setting things up. Do you have any clue about that?
Thank you Robby for your contribution to this amazing project
Your ninja video had me laughing out loud. Thanks Robbie and crew of all of this.
You done a awesome job ..dinner, robby and hillbilly.
I really enjoyed watching all the videos too, and esp. Robby, Dinner and Hillbilly on their channel also. I love Dinner.... he always put a big smile on my face for the day..good, no, great work, guys!!
Okay , how many people shed a tear on this one? I did , tears of joy for such good people coming together to do something spectacular for Ed. This was epic!!
My allergies started acting up for sure.
Yep gate valve opened up
My eyes are wet now.
I think there's something in my eye... (-Both eyes?)
Should've had safety glasses, I think I got something in my eye
The way Matt just looks out for Ed in every single step, like literally, as if it was his dad, this crew is amazing! Just eye watering stuff.
You can't choose your family. But you sure can choose your friends.
Ed is seriously the reason I started watching the show. I love his comments and the weather. You make me cry.
What’s the story with Ed? Is he just a neighbor or what?
Can't wait to see Ed go on some trails
Surprised
Nice
Little did Ed know that the gold he was searching for was in the hearts of the friends he made along the journey! Wow what a wonderful community effort!!
Well said! W\o friends and loved ones life is not the same.
@@alanscott6241 Wouldn't know; been w/o friends and loved ones all my 68y life. Now I'm content w solitude. :-[ hYlkeW
Just the right amount of cheesy haha love it
@@hylkewesterhuis9667 sorry to hear that. But solitude can be peaceful

What you guys did for Ed was possibly the greatest act of kindness I've ever seen. Y'all are OK in my book.
Man...this is the 2nd video of yours I watched where you took care of someone who works for you, that alone will continue to make you successful..taking care of those who take care of you, and because you want to, and you can see the emotion behind these reveals, the Bronco and this. Brother, you are a true friend to your employees.
Best line was: "I've never had it over 40!" You could tell he was overwhelmed, but Ed took it all in a stride. What a great series of videos this was, thanks Matt's Off Road! This was such a touching gesture for everyone involved. Look forward to seeing Ed driving the Golden Nugget in the future!
You could see the old man tear up 11:20 but he never broke his emotions. Old School love right there.
and that was over 40 years ago!
Ed reminds me of my own Grandfather, he was a wise old soul but a man of few words. He only spoke when he deemed it absolutely necessary, and it was always worth listening to. The only time I ever saw him tear up was when we surprised him and Nanna on their Golden wedding by completing the Royal Albert china collection they'd been amassing for their entire married life. I miss that man, I truly hope Matt and his friends and family understand how precious it is they have Ed in their lives and I hope they treasure every moment.
I think that my favorite funny line in the video came from Ed when he had seen the nugget at a distance but he still thought it was a recovery in the figure-it-out stage , Ed sized up the situation and said "There it is huh? Dont look stuck to me" And he was 100& right
I think he was more overwhelmed and speechless. Will he have a story to tell now.
this was heartwarming ❤ so glad Ed was reunited with his golden nugget!
First time I've ever seen RUclips comment!
Bruh I can’t believe RUclips is here lmaooo
You know you did something right when RUclips drops a comment 😂
Bro what
God? Is that you????
"You guys are funnin' me. "❤ This has to be one of the best things I've found on the internet. So many people came together for the "fun" of it.. a hot rod, just for the kindness of it. This is so many levels of awesome. Thank you for letting us enjoy the fun with Ed.
"But why'd you put it all the way out here?". Ed responds just like my Gramma would when we gave her a heartfelt gift. Full of gratitude and happiness, but she would always find one thing to complain about and then harp on it. I always found it hilarious and endearing. Good on all yall for such an amazing journey.
Im a 66 yr old male, ive watched every video from the very beginning of this adventure and when Ed walked up to the nugget tears started rolling down my cheeks and i had the BIGGEST smile on my face, great job all of you, what a great community of people you all are, thank you
much love
Right with you all the way. What a great thing to do!!!
Veetwin sir, We can all agree that this has to be the greatest series of a collaboration from good people getting Ed back in the golden nugget. Top notch 👍
Yes, tears are in order to see still so much good from good, honorable people in a turbulent world driven by do.much division.
I cried the whole time. When Ed told that story about how he and his late wife honeymooned in the Suzuki back when got married in 1955 and the story how him and his dad always went fishing when he was a kid and his dad let him drive the Suzuki when he was 10. Great stuff.
When Matt said “ I’m gonna need your help with this one.” I choked up. When Ed saw it and his face lit up, my heart soared. This is one of the most selfless things I’ve ever seen. This was truly a wonderful thing you people did. Ed’s a lucky man to be blessed with friends like you guys. Well done,we’ll done.
This “Golden Nugget” adventure has been better than an Hallmark Series EVER! I’ve gasped, I’ve laughed, and yes I even cried tears of joy with the climactic reveal! Matt you put together the perfect team to accomplish the dream. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.
Ed is a great guy. he really deserved this. glad you were able to give it to him. "don't think I've ever seen anything as nice as this" everyone made his dream come true.
I've waited for this video for 6 months. Ed's reaction was exactly how Matt thought it would be. Genuine and appreciative. Hats off to the 84 year old ,he deserves it.
“You guys are… you guys are funnin’ me” hahaha Ed is the best
It was a blast watching Paul and Robby resurrect the Golden Nugget. Can’t wait for the videos of Ed putting it to work!
100% need more gold nugget sunday.
I'd like all of you good folks to know that I watched every video of everyone's hard work from pulling Ed's "Nugget" out of the woods to the final reveal. There were times when I would scream at my PC, "just finish the dang thing so Ed can drive it again..." but, I gotta say, the time it took to fix it right was worth every second to watch. What all of you did was nothing short of extraordinary. It basically got a bunch of us through the dang pangdemic (sic). Stuck at home watching great content as the Golden Nugget came back even better than its former glory. To see Ed's face light up when he saw it tucked into the woods was priceless. You should all be very proud of your noble and extremely charitable contributions to the Golden Nugget project. Kudos to everyone involved.
That’s a beautiful thing you did for Ed. When friends come together to bring someone happiness is amazing.
Ed said "I hope a lot of people watched this". Ed, the whole world has been watching and waiting for this day to come. Everyone that came together to work on this project are truly awesome people. You sir are truly blessed to have friends like this. Enjoy your golden nugget Ed.

@@carlt8188 I’m taking about people all over the world watching the entire golden nugget build across multiple you tube channels over the last six months or so,not views on this one video. If you don’t have anything positive to say keep your mouth shut.

Matt, you and your team did an outstanding job putting this all together. By all I mean the location, the setting, the arrangement of time, the people, the video-all of it!! I can not thank you enough for allowing Stacie and I the opportunity to be a part of this whole bit of craziness called the Golden Nugget. The friends and the memories that we have made during this process will last a lifetime. I wouldn't have ever guessed that Ed would glow like he did, he is truly a one of a kind.
The friends and memories are well deserved! Thank You for being a part of getting the Golden Nugget driving. I'm sure it will outlast him and serve as a legacy to his outstanding character!
Well done, Chad! You're one heck of a mechanic. I love learning from your videos.
Definitely brought a tear to my eye for ED and for my wife. God bless her she passed away 13 and 1/2 years ago . I just sold her lj20 two months ago that we have had since 1984 same color as this one. She's a Beauty Ed enjoy it.
What a tribe, this is one for the books! It was and is a high honor to know every one of you,God bless you all!
When Matt walked up to Ed and said, "I'm gonna need your help with this one." My "allergies" kicked in. This is such a wholesome channel. Thank you guys for the great content! Congrats Ed!!!
Allergies, I never thought of that. Couldn’t pin point the Strange Feelings causing watery Eyes, you Nailed it. Thank You
Yes, this was good allergies.

I’m glad Ed finally got his golden nugget back.
Congratulations on everyone that worked on the golden nugget
I couldn't have said it better!
Glad to see he finally got to drive his Suzuki again. You all did some fantastic work on all three items.
Fantastic job everyone! It was great following this story. I can’t wait to see more content of Ed with the Golden Nugget and Rokon.
You guys make my day every time I watch another one of your videos. Thank you for participating in this epic build.
Did anyone notice the pumkin in the tree?
This illustrated what a great community we have in off-road enthusiasts in general and in the Southern Utah community specifically. You all ROCK!
I"m just making my way back through older ones I haven't seen. I realized I was smiing as I watched this one. I think that is common with the videos out of MORR. It is my number one favorite channel.
So glad to have been even a small part of this project, Ed is so deserving. Wish we could have made the reveal but so excited to finally see this come to fruition!
Matt, thank you for your contributions to such an amazing project! You've got great friends but Ed is one of the best 🙂
@Jason Maybe he broke it, and it's in the shop getting repaired LOL
The world needs more of this. More compassion, more camaraderie, a sense of family. Every single person involved in this project has earned their wings multiple times over. In addition to bringing Ed great joy, you brought great joy to the millions of subscribers. The collaborative effort of this project is nothing short of a miracle. God bless all of you.

Love the sacrifice of so many to honor a senior pioneer. Thanks for reminding us all how valuable our fathers and ancestors are. Lots of work went into the restore and even the surprise party. Well done!!!
This was like seeing a big family reunion! Very cool how this project turned out, and it will be nice to see Ed driving that thing around again!
"...cuz it's fun, Ed. It's fun!!" THAT's why you do stuff for others! Truer words have never been spoken. Love seeing Ed's face. Well-played, folks!
Ed has no idea just how many people all around the world have been anxiously awaiting his reaction and care so much for him. Literally millions of people are so thankful for all of the awesome people and the work they have put into this. Thank you Matt and everyone involved. What a journey.

I love Ed!! Man, what a deserving guy with the bestest of friends!!
Cracked me up that it took him a minute to figure out it wasn’t a Jeep.
The look in an old man's eyes when he realized what he was looking at, like a kid in a toy store!
It was then that he realized just how much he is loved and revered by all involved personally and around the world❤️❤️
That grin on Ed’s face brought tears to my eyes. He was SO happy. You all are awesome!
I shade a tear or two.... thanks guys for showing such care love and respect to Ed, I wish I did something like this for my dad's Isuzu KB, we talked about it with my brothers but never did, two years ago we lost our dad now we only remain with memories. Well done guys
The look on Ed's face was priceless truly a great thing you did for Ed.
So true
The smile on Ed's face was priceless. Someone needs to get Ed on RUclips so that he can watch all of the restoration videos. Paul and Robby were just awesome!
Nobody should have to watch all that sanding.. lol.
I think that might be something they are doing for Patreon
What a wonderful idea and gift to show someone special how much you love Ed.
I have never been so infected with RUclips Fever! The entire Gold Nugget story has been captivating, educational, and rewarding to watch! What a great group of generous people! Thanks for all your hard work!
"We've been lying to ya, Ed!" Ed thinking they souped-up the old motor. I think he missed his plywood door. lol! For me the best part was Ed first drove it out with Matt riding shotgun. Though so many people were involved, Matt and Ed's friendship is like a microcosm of the story.
If I saw correctly I think they kept the door and showed it to him near the end of the video. I think I caught a glimpse of it over Paul's head!
@@bryankinash3523 It's on the Table at 16:03
They did give it back to him. I was being sarcastic as if Ed wanted back on the nugget. But I did miss it the first time through. Thanks!
To Matt and everyone involved, you'll never know the profound affect you've had on total strangers in such a positive way. Thank you for letting us in. You're very deserving Ed. Congratulations.
Got to be the best story and collaboration project for a nice guy. Best wishes to all for bringing this adventure. Congrats Ed from the UK.
Jeez Louise You guys are good at making grown folks cry! 😊But it's all happy tears. What a beautiful gift and a great group of people involved in all that hard work! True labor of love
I’m a complete mess with happy tears! Ed was so stunned he didn’t know what to say. How dam sweet. All of you that worked on the Golden Nugget deserve Medals of Honor. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story and making an old man truly happy.
This was one of the most genuine acts of kindness I've ever seen from so many people. I don't know Ed but I do know that he deserved this. Nice job Matt and everyone else involved 👍
This channel is pure gold.... Hard work, humor, humility without needless drama. This episode had me and all those who watched grinning from ear-to-ear.
I've been in the "biker community" for most of my life, more than fifty years, and I got into the jeep scene this year because of some good friends who used to be "biker oriented". I've really enjoyed the camaraderie, the sharing of lives that takes place among those who chase these four wheeled machines. This was a great way to give back to the mentors that feed us with ideas. What a great surprise for Ed.
I’m not crying, you’re crying! That smile on Ed’s face when he first saw the nugget made the wait well worth it. My hats off to all of you! It’s great to know there are good people in the world!
Im not crying your crying.
I'm glad no one saw me crying. I did see a tear on Ed's face.
You could see that Ed wasn't sure what to make of it when he first saw the Nugget. He probably thought his eyes were going bad.
Love Ed's face when he realized it was his Golden Nugget.
Enjoyed this journey with you all!!!!
You guy's all rock.
Well, it's his chassis. Everything else is different.
@@1one3_Racing welcome to The Theseus Paradox
@@matthewclifton5530 yep. I always figured it to be a "major items" or time thing.
If you change the body and engine, it's not the same vehicle. If you change the engine 10 years ago and the body today, it's kinda the same vehicle.
Changing everything in one go, in my opinion, it's not the same Golden Nugget. The whole thing was done for RUclips views and to help build the three channels and it achieved its goal.
What a great memory for Ed to be given. He will carry this joyous day with him for the rest of his life! It's acts like this that make life worth living. You guys are the best! BTW, the work you all did on the nugget is beautiful. You can see it on Ed's face!

@05:09 The best moment of this video....the part when Ed realizes "The Golden Nugget" is his golden nugget. I can't imagine all the thoughts going through his head at one time. What a great build series between Matt's Off Road Recovery, Fab Rats, Robby Layton, Bikes & Beards, Chads Fab and all the other people involved in this project. It's been exciting to watch. Most of all, I am glad that Ed got to see his LJ20 fully restored.
I've been watching this channel for a couple of years now. When I first discovered Matt's off-road recovery there were only about 10 or 11 videos, and he had a lot less gray in the beard. During this restoration, I watched and discovered every channel that participated and became a fan of theirs as well. I'm an older guy myself and what you all did for Ed brought a tear to my eye. You are all amazing.

I feel honored to have been a viewer of all of these videos. From the recovery to Paul’s, to the endless hours of sanding at Robby’s and all of the other videos and folks who were a part of this project. The spirit of giving has been rich and inspiring!
Once again a towing company in the Utah desert brings a tear to my eye. What you, Matt and your crew do for your friends, family and community are incredible! The world is a better place because of you.
ok
I don't know how I missed this video. I have been subscribed and watching this channel since everything said Winder Towing on it. This is all how it should be - take care of the children as they grow and teach them all you know, and take care of the older people who have made good use of all they learned and taught. The love is thick with your people and it shows. Thank you so much for being this example of how people are meant to be.
You all made Ed so HAPPY. Lucky to have friends as great as you all. I saw his tears. Made me cry. Bless all of you.

i found this gang of people a few months before the golden nugget project. throughout this series ive found a family of people that i respect and would be less of a human if i had not found them. i dont care about the rock crawling but i love the rescues, the fabricating, and the sense of honor and family that runs through all of these channels involved!!
I've watched this a couple times matt Ed is the kind of person you want in your life and thank you for sharing ya know ol man Ed has brought me to tears with his honesty
I felt quite tearful watching this finally, the patience craftsmanship, generosity, humility... Stunningly beautiful! Thanks to all of you who pitched in! Amazing!!!
The most Epic feel good moment in RUclips Offroad related history! 6 month pay off was sooo worth it! The smile on Ed's face just washed away every ounce of negativity in my system. To see all the various big channels on RUclips from every walk of life & genre that followed the build & commenting below speaks volumes! Magical!
