What features should RIVIAN steal from the TESLA Model 3?

- My favorite features of the Tesla Model 3 from a Rivian owner's perspective. Some things I love, and some things the Rivian does just a bit better.

I'm a former Tesla Model 3 driver, and now have a Rivian R1T. Your review was spot on, especially about the 360 view and the two displays. I do love how the Tesla Model 3 drives, the handling is fantastic, and if you get an LR or performance, they can be super quick. My Rivian, while quick, just doesn't put that perma-smile on your face. One feature I wish Rivian would adopt from Tesla is the geo-located garage door opening. My Tesla would automatically open and close my garage door when passing the end of my driveway. It just saves so much time fumbling around the menu on Rivian to open the garage door.
That WOULD be a great feature. I was happy to get a method for opening and closing garage doors, but Automatica would be even better.
Well dad, you are pretty well on point with most of the differences. The only one I would add is auto pilot versus driver plus. I am really hoping Rivian gets driver plus opened up on secondary roads. We use our auto pilot function a lot.
Thanks! As I mentioned I didn't have the capacity to go fully into the driver plus/self driving side. I didn't feel like it would be a fair review without more time.
Things I would like to see added,
1)Rear wheel steering!! Please make this happen!
2)Quad motor 1100hp+
3)Head - Up display.
4)Center console refrigerator.
5)Ventilated rear seats/massage functionality on the front seats.
6)Body panel gaps re engineered to be much tighter.(like the new RR)
7)Removal of all door sill trim, and moved underneath(like the new RR)
8)Overall cabin refinement, more sound deadening.
9)quieter windshield wiper motors.
#4 is my favorite! Oh and #5.
Nice comparison! I agree with you about the trip data in the Rivian, it's too buried in menus.

Stop light recognition for stopping and pinging you when it turns green. Apple Music. These are my top two things I would love to see in the Rivian.

3:13 newer models no longer comes installed with sonar sensors, i thought.
Does that mean no more squiggly lines? That would be a bummer.
@@RivianDad, your squiggly lines were the vision-based parking sensors system. Older cars (like my '22) that have ultrasonics still on them have a more reliable and more accurate proximity detection currently. But all new cars have the squiggly line version you experienced in your rental. I'm not convinced the vision approach will ever be as accurate as ultrasonics, which the Rivian and basically all other auto manufacturers have.
Worth noting too, that Tesla does NOT have a cross-traffic system which is a major downside vs the Rivian and others, including bargain basement models from other brands.
Tesla does not have traffic light notification unless you have FSD or Advanced Auto pilot, a $6,000 and $15,000 upgrade. It would be nice if it were free on the Rivian. But the feature is not standard.

This USED to be the case, but the greenlight notification sound is on all vehicles now. Source: I own a '22 Model Y Performance.
I test drive X and M3 perf today, no Traffic light notification !

Good to know, I imagine it’s only a matter of time for some of these features.
In-front of the driver monitor as well as HUD will be irrelevant shortly: 6-12 months, not to mention steering wheel. FSD!

There is no way steering wheels are going away in a decade much less 6 to 12 Months
Don't you think the Rivian would look amazing with diamond-shaped headlights...like it's badge?! Those Tylenol pills are the only thing preventing it from being the best and best-looking vehicle.
