    When you named the R1S Rosie and the R1T Rocky, I knew the fix was in 😊. BTW, even though both Rivian’s are beautiful, I would much rather watch your beautiful backyard!

    Congrats on your 100th video! My family and I have an R1T and an R1S. I love them both. I would also have to give my R1T the win when comparing the two. After 2 years and 36K miles, the R1T has proven itself time and time again. We've had the R1S for less than a 1K miles, so it's going to take some effort and time for the R1S to dethrone the R1T.

    Congrats on the 100th episode! I joined the journey pretty near the beginning as Rivians were just beginning to be seen in the wild. Mine was built in the 8000s and I skipped in front of quite a few people since I configured a Canyon Yellow R1T, and agree, possibly the best vehicle I’ve ever owned!

    Awesome video , thank you! Waiting on delivery of a standard range plus R1T. We have a minivan to handle family hauling duty and road trips. Looking forward to having the utility of a pick up truck. I’ve had my heart set on a Rivian for a while but the prices were out of reach prior to the release of the standard battery packs.

    I do agree that the OEM tires that come with the R1x do leave a little something to be desired. While they have never failed me, they have worn down considerably in the time I have had them.

      And on the ice they are not good

      @@RivianDad I did notice that they have issues on ice. But things did improve when the Snow mode was added. Having dedicated snow tires with a vehicle this heavy is important.

    Can you do a video on the tires for r1T - for all-terrain usage where you can make it up to the trailheads for many of the 14ers. I don’t care much for the pirellis/oem tires.

    I would say that it depends how much you use your truck for actual truck use.
    I've had 1 instance in the year, where the Truck would have been more useful. The rest of the times, I was glad I has so much closed storage and the ability to lean back the 2nd , 3rd rows and have THAT storage available.

    • @RivianDad
      @RivianDad  2 месяца назад

      When the truck was having it's dent repaired, I kept up the projects with Rosie. Lots of strapping boards on the top rack and even some dirty stuff in the back followed by a thorough cleaning. It does work. If I had a little trailer for the dirty stuff, even better. Thx for watching!

    iam looking to get a R1T but can't decide which model to get.. 2 motor or 4 motor

    • @RivianDad
      @RivianDad  2 месяца назад

      I actually think it’s a pretty easy choice. The four motor is more expensive and very much overpowered for daily use. The two motor has plenty of power. If you are a heavy user of towing or off-roading, or something like that, then maybe the 4 motor would be worthwhile, but I think for 90% of uses, you don’t need all that extra power. I’d go with the two motor myself.

    • @LarsDennert
      @LarsDennert 2 месяца назад

      Get the dual with the newer oil cooled Enduro motors. Better efficiency and still quick and competent off road. I went with a Performance but rarely make use of it in sport mode.

    I have a reservation for the R1T but I’m concerned about if rivian goes bankrupt in the future. What’s your take on it?

    • @RivianDad
      @RivianDad  2 месяца назад

      I have to say it's a real concern, but my take is that they are making excellent vehicles so I can't imagine the brand just dying. If they run out of cash, hopefully someone will see the value in the product and bail them out. Meanwhile it's an incredible vehicle so you can still enjoy.

    Consumer Reports came out with their vehicle survey and test results and found that Rivian is the 4th worst car brand to buy. It performed really well, but apparently there have been a lot of reliability issues with people reporting hardware and software problems pretty soon after buying and consistently after. What do you think of that, both from your own experience and from talking with other Rivian owners?

    • @RivianDad
      @RivianDad  2 месяца назад +3

      My experience has been very positive, as you can see by the scores in this video. 51 out of 60 for the truck is pretty darn good. I would say that consumer reports article does not reflect my experience at all.

      I also think that there are growing pains with a new company. For us 100% worth it and overall positive. We like innovation.

    • @LarsDennert

      It's not a perfect car but they did a hell of job. Early ones had some reliability issues but I've had no service incidents.

      I absolutely love my R1T. Had an annoyance a year ago that was fixed with software (inconsitent phone or fob lock/unlock). Now it's getting better and better with every update, including the more recent suspension updates allowing for smoother rides across more drive modes
