Hi Kjetil, that was a cool video! I chased the TSC sound for 30 years, and then I finally got a chance to try one in a replica of Mike Landau's rig from the 80's, owned by a good buddy of mine, this past January when I went to NAMM....... I was shocked to learn that what I really loved about that Landau sound was not actually the TSC at all! Instead, it was the pitch detune from the SPX90!! For me, while I thought the TSC was cool, I found that virtually any chorus would work, and it did not have to be an analog chorus....Now, after 30 years, I am no longer chasing that sound..... :)
Ian MacNeil thanks for the kind words Ian. The TERC does have some magic.. but I totally agree that the detune is a huge part of the sound. I’ve got an old SPX-90 in the rack waiting to be connected. I will make a video comparing it to the Axe-fx soon. Regards Kjetil
The detune plus chorus combination = I swear I can hear like it adds a tad of drive and boosts specially the unwound strings... such a great tone, the one I have chased all my life, but cannot afford :)
Hey Kan, could we get some info / settings on the delay and reverb used in the video? Probably the best clean sound I've ever heard, just trying to get as close to this as I can, thanks.
Hi Kjetil, Excellent video! It is THE schmoo sound. I love that sound. And I like your guitar too ;-) For me you managed to copy the detuning effect of the Yamaha SPX 90 with the Axe FX. Really good job!!! Just a curiosity : what kind of detune parameter do you use? +9/-9? +13/-13 or other? Thank you and keep doing this kind of great video. Regards Florent
Josh Llamas I think the closest you can get in a pedal is the Eventide H9. I really don’t have experience with pedals for that kind of sounds. I still enjoy rack units.
Try the tc electronic brainwaves. It's a stereo pitch shifting pedal. That works well. And because it's so good and so cheap you can buy two of them. Then you have quad pitch shifting.
Here’s a wacky idea: how about using 3 (or 2) individual chorus pedals (ce2, arion), running one on left and the other on right (the 3rd in center) ....Can it sound similar to the trichorus? 🤨
It sure can but part of the reason behind these units is to run parallel choruses at the same setting for a consistent sound. The DC-2w might be up your alley if you're looking for something compact. Not a tri-stereo chorus, but 2 lines instead.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Sounds insanely good 😀🎶🎸
Hello Kan, Great videos! What kind of compressor are you using in this video? Also, can you show the schematics of effects? Thanks

Max Salas go for it!!
I had amazing results with the FreetheTone Tri Avatar and the Eventide H9.
You won't be dissapointed ;)

Hi! What is your opinion about TERC bypass? Does it change basic sound? Transparent?
Yes its transparent
Nice - do you have Axefx preset ? Ta
christopher short yes I made it so.. you can have it.. send me an email: knesheim@me.com
hey Kjetil can you me recommend a pedal that can do the spx90 style detune?

Hi Josh ! I think Eventide pitch factor Do the job very well !!! Or H9 too.

Very authentic rack tone. And even the guitar sounds like a tyler guitar. One doesn`t need a tyler dann huff model. Did you eq the guitar?
No eq :)
