Richard keeps giving us little heart attacks saying “it might be our last album”. And here we are already with 2 albums since this interview aired. So I really hope that he keeps throwing those empty words out there and we keep getting new albums 😄

I thought that too until I realized they've given us so much and Till especially suffers greatly to write for us so let's be happy if this is the end and they retire now. I want them to know some peace before they die, especially Till.
The fact that they go to therapy to work out their issues as a band is very commendable. You would think that most bands would do that but apparently not. But I could be wrong in saying that.
It is great and I’m glad they are doing it both for the band and for them. And yet people shame Metallica for doing it.
And that explains why they still have their original line up almost 30 yrs later.

When Rammstein started out this guy only knew the words "Yes" and "No" in English. Now he barely has any accent.

Most people in Germany speak pretty amazing English these days. I heard a story from a guy I met once who said his friend lived in Berlin for three years and never learned German because they all spoke to him in English.
I took high school German for a year the guy teaching us said most Germans learn better English than Americans do.
Richard knows English pretty well, of course it makes sense cause he lived in America for a while, I don't know if he still does. If you've ever seen the music video for Amerika, the end has Richard point at the camera and smile, this was done as kind of an inside joke since Richard was moving to the states at the time and thus would be "Living in Amerika"

Out of all rammstein members, he seems to be most fluent in english. And honestly I think his "You know?" is adorable - for me it's just a way to have better connection with interviewer. Something like "I want to make sure you have understood my point.", which should be appreciated! :)

You noticed too, right? He was calmly seducing the boy like a purring panther, but he saw the kid was inexperienced and that he was hitting wall everytime he said some sexual remark. Notice how the kid always pretended not to hear him.

I was at the gog and seriously, nobody would‘ve cared if they had noticed. People were so damn motivated for the concert, just amazing. The evening before about everybody on the campsite was singing Rammstein stuff. During the concert before Rammstein a lot of people just sat down and waited and reloaded some energy because Broilers was boring and they just wanted to have a 100% Rammstein show. So yeah everybody was pissed it was canceled.
What I love about them is they spend time writing songs and not shitting out albums every year that are bland. They want to give fans the very best.

Michael Angelo H. I think it does actually working awhile on a album lets you go back and change things to be better. Plus you have more ideas the more time you have.
comon.. the kind of music they make is so easy to put together. the only thing that needs any time to work out properly are the lyrics. rammstein is and ever was all about the lyrics. i can shit out 11 songs like this every day if you want me to, especially if you pay me to. but you can't have a decent shit without digesting. and that process would compare to writing lyrics.

Germans say "you know" for two main reasons:
* It gives them a little more time, to think about the english translation of their next sentence.
* It gives them a bit of a feedback, if the person they are talking to, is actually understanding what they are talking about at this very moment.
Especially, when the first, second language you've learned, has originally been russian... :P
(So basically, it`'s about being polite. Though I understand, it might as well seem funny to native english speakers)
Thanks for that insight. I figured it was either a way to give him time to think while speaking or as a way to engage or draw the other person into conversation, a way to connect further with the other person. I'm glad to see I wasn't far off.

Graham Hartmann is a very good interviewer. So often they can be cheeky and full of themselves, but Graham here actually lets the person talk. And by the way, Richard looks around 40, definitively not 50!

They said they won't do it again. They'll make a selection with the 30 demos songs. Sadly yes, because Rosenrot is for me one of the best albums, paradoxically.
to me its the worst. rosenrot was nothing but a warm up of songs that were actually too bad to make it on reise, reise. maybe one or two exceptions.
but since their management always was all about money, they will never release one double-album. two seperate albums over maybe 2 years make more cash.

Well, that statement was thankfully short lived since they have released the Untitled album (2019) now and have the next album ZEIT coming out in a matter of weeks…. I suppose that we can at least thank Covid lockdowns for Rammstein’s continuing creativity

last record was supposed to be their last one. this will be their very last. maybe there will be a best of afterwards, with a handfull of bonus tracks. maybe another comeback 10 years from now.
lowtuned Huh? Why? I mean, they love the band, they keep having success with it. Richard himself just said he always thinks every record will be the last and how he said he wouldn't still be playing in his 50s.
I think it's more a mentality that he personally has so every next project kicks ass than a reality.
^ You're right that you shouldn't just expect more to happen, cause it shouldn't be forced. That's how especially artistic stuff gets watered down.
But then, yes, artists usually just don't stop... I mean, they have nothing better to do... Look at Barry Gibb for example, his brothers died but he still plays music. It looks sad now, but that's what he does. And creatives usually can't stand to sit around and do nothing like an old retired person. - It's in their blood to create and perform, especially after doing it for decades.
That said; Even if it might be Rammstein's last... I'm sure various members would keep doing projects.
They always do unless they're ACTUALLY bored, or they're just not physically able anymore.

All the Rammstein guys aged so well. Honestly if he'd never said he turned 50 in this 4 year old video, and I didn't already know they were all in their 50's, I'd have guessed late 30's early 40's.

What's with the "you know" comments? I only recall hearing him say that maybe a couple of times. I was actually immersed in the interview hungry for anything he had to say since they don't give many interviews.
He has aged very well, clearly keeps himself in shape and doesn't abuse alcohol or drugs.

I really want to see rammstein at least once befor they disband or something.I found them only a few months ago and never have I ever felt so inspired and just connected to a band. I love their work so much, I wish I found it earlier.
