These guys were young then, but those alive today are still rockin it! Blessed their hearts all of them! They brought good music to this world! Marcus, you've got plenty years ahead...!
Back in the Day ....Sanborn was da Man! I heard this song from Casion Lights CD....captured my heart.....so breezy. Never will you get Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford, Yellowjackets on one stage. Musicianship is a lost art.....Rest in Peace David, thank you for the music and the joy in brought in the '70 and '80s
I did a RUclips search for this song as I bought an MP3 track of it many years ago, and came across this live performance. It's like finding hidden treasure!
This is one of my most favorite tunes ever.Thank you so much for posting this. I used to practice palying my drums to this all the time.it taught me how to play an exciting Samba beat with a hip modern tip.thank you so much for sharing music with people.
I'm almost embarrassed about how much I love Neil Larsen .... he is a musical giant ; a phenomenal composer .... responsible for some of the best fusion style music in our life time .... & he wrote the tunes over which Buzz Feiten played the best guitar ... & isnt he wonderful on this track ? Where was Buzz though ? Does anyone know ? My original Casino Lights cassette ( all those years ago ) had Buzz on the Al / Randy tracks - not Larry ... the track Casino Lights was written by Neil & performed by Neil & Buzz .... along with E minor song ... which I think is known to Neil / Buzz / Full Moon fans as Message From Beyond ? ... Anybody out there help me along with this trivia ...
Your right, Neil IS one of the few true musicians that I totally enjoy listening too and also had the pleasure of touring and playing with him when I was just a 19 year old sax player. I learned so much from him that it''s kept me playing for 50 years now.....
you are right, Buzz Feiten was not in Montreux 1981, his guitar part was added later in the studio overdubs not in this tune, but in the set of Neil Larsen band
@@BrazenNL Yes, the horn-section was overdubbed in the studio and the organ-solo deleted. The vibraphon- and sax-solos are the same on the record "Casino Lights".
We fell in love with Jazz to this record in 1982. We hear the man himself is gone today 13th May 2024 RIP David Sanborn

Heard Neil Larsen live in the band of Al Jarreau about five times. Brillant musician and I love his solo-work.

So did they play two shows during the '81 festival? The solos are differrent and I'm missing the horn section, too.
That was dubbed in for the record.

Love my Dukoff
Marcus Miller!
