I think the bird has two meanings. The sound used in the song is like the little birds you see around a person's head in cartoons when they feel dizzy or are hit over the head. They're drilling into their heads like Frankenstein and seeing birds. But, the bird is also caged in the 'real world' scene. We're caged birds, and the song is about revealing your inner maniac.
The bird is flying freely in when they go all craycray but when we go back to the real world in the end, it's caged. I think it must represent mania. Funny, because in german we use "Du hast nen Vogel", meaning "You've got a bird", to tell someone they are crazy. This is so meaningful and good ughh

I think the bird represents the concept and/or lyrics. Because they are basically saying stop pretending and let the Maniac inside you, your true self, out. So i think the bird symbolizes the Maniac inside us. When the bird is inside the cage their surroundings look "normal" but when it's out it's all dark and all over the place basically. The beat also changes from light, funky to heavy, fast paced. That's just my opinion of course

The bird in this MV symbolizes not their childhood but the old original way they act, they are trying to kill/remove it to replace with the personality they prefer but it keeps coming back, as the lyrics say "It's inevitable, you're gonna be eventually yourself", your original personality will always come back no matter how hard you try, just like the bird coming back in the MV, no matter how hard they try to kill it, it just always returns.

I watched the kindof, "making of" for this MV that SKZ put up on their channel and for the "upside down" street scene, the crew built an ENTIRE DULPLICATE SET that was just, upside down. The director definitely had a vision and Stray Kids delivered, and omg the attention to detail and the absolute dedication to craft from the crew is also absolutely incredible.

Its impressive how the music video director knows how to draw your attention and keep you in (as Jordan pointed out),because the older someone is, the harder it gets something to make you drop your guard and make you feel like a child watching a magician performance, which this video is for me. Also as someone who have problem with attention spawn this video didn't fail to keep me involved to watch all the time and till the end Love how the bouncy base beat (when only listening to it) gives you the feeling of losing gravity/make you feel free, the same time matching the visuals where literally everything is floating around without gravity. How the choreography matches the lyrics by "Spinning, going crazy" and they literally spin there heads. For me the bird represent the driving force of freedom "Free as a Bird" , that makes the drill to start, thus freeing the suppressed inner self/world and making them whole and alive again. 10/10 comeback and a total banger. I will be jamming and body rolling on this for days from now on :) . It just makes my day everytime seeing something like this, when people make something with passion by hard work,thinking out of the box and freedom of creative expression and just doing good thing as a whole at the end of the day, instead to chasing cloud or do something stupid for clicks. I think there are several meanings to the bird. The bird in real life is caged, representing the caged selves; caged birds always sound so cheerful when singing in cages, when they're not at all, so I think it's a good symbol for hiding your true self. In the inner world, the bird seems to be free, representing their freedom to express themselves through music. In the real world, expectations and society cage the bird; inside their brains, it's running free, creating all the music they express themselves through. And even though the bird can't fly in the real world, it still can fly in the inner world through his/their voice. So I think in the end, they're saying they're caged birds, and their music and their craziness are what sets them free. They're free as long as their thoughts are.
I love how it keeps it interesting so you don’t have any time to get distracted. I have ADHD so I get distracted a lot but this made me sit still and caught my FULL attention. Nothing is boring or simple. Everything catches my eye and attention.
The bird makes me think of a Cuckoo bird, and cuckoo generally refers to being crazy in the mind. I am not a bird expert, but there was an orange one on the internet so that could be it. There are also orange canaries and Tweety Bird was a canary in Looney Tunes. Also, the daylight and night scenes give contrast as you said. The daylight is the fake reality we pose and the night the true self/"craziness" inside of our minds. In the end, the bird is in the cage so you could say we keep our "cuckoo mind" caged. Also as for the drill, it is them trying to tighten the loose screw which is a common phrase. An even darker layer with the drill could emphasize a lobotomy which used to be a common practice to "fix" mental illnesses and neutralize the mind and destroys the person.
I’ve been a STAY for a while and this is BY FAR their most incredible video. Just when we think they couldn’t get any better (I honestly thought ‘Thunderous’ couldn’t be outdone), they do this. The artistry, the cinematography, the music, the lyrics…. It’s all IMMACULATE.

They release it when Felix “unscrews “the glass at the first chorus, then at the end it’s like lee know screws it back into the cage again (returning back to “normal” life) where everyone is kind of caged in, not letting their inner maniac run free. I love, love, LOVE the song and the MV of this comeback SO MUCH. The transitions of what seemed to be like Thunderous-like music at the start to the drill sounds to the complete change of vibe of the chorus gave me serotonin omg and the MV AMPLIFIED THAT IM SO SO HAPPY Edit: My interpretation of the birds here is that Stray Kids were trying to answer Maya Angelou's poem called "The Caged Bird". (Its a poem that basically conveyed America's situation at her time but It could also mean someone feeling restrained from expressing themselves while others seem to fly free and all to them). Like, they seem to reply that you are the one who is ultimately able to break free from your cage, and not be afraid to show who you are to everyone despite the frantic and crazy world out there.
It's like they say, the ignorance of a person in the face of a masterpiece will only think of it as it is, a masterpiece. But from the point of view of someone who's familiar with it can recognize it for its sheer magnificence, the details start to pop out. I've gained a new respect for skz's MVs after this video lmao I didn't notice most of what you talked about and since now that it was pointed out to me and i know, it just makes it *_that much better_*

The bird in the mv is a canary...they are really sensitive to their surroundings which is why miners used to take these birds with them so that if there is any type of danger ..the birds will become restless and that becomes a warning to the miners that something is wrong and to get out of the mine asap...so the bird sounds might symbolise that there is danger or something...im not sure just my thoughts

Its impressive how the music video director knows how to draw your attention and keep you in (as Jordan pointed out),because the older someone is, the harder it gets something to make you drop your guard and make you feel like a child watching a magician performance, which this video is for me. Also as someone who have problem with attention spawn this video didn't fail to keep me involved to watch all the time and till the end
Love how the bouncy base beat (when only listening to it) gives you the feeling of losing gravity/make you feel free, the same time matching the visuals where literally everything is floating around without gravity. How the choreography matches the lyrics by "Spinning, going crazy" and they literally spin there heads.
For me the bird represent the driving force of freedom "Free as a Bird" , that makes the drill to start, thus freeing the suppressed inner self/world and making them whole and alive again.
10/10 comeback and a total banger. I will be jamming and body rolling on this for days from now on :) .
It just makes my day everytime seeing something like this, when people make something with passion by hard work,thinking out of the box and freedom of creative expression and just doing good thing as a whole at the end of the day, instead to chasing cloud or do something stupid for clicks.

I think there are several meanings to the bird. The bird in real life is caged, representing the caged selves; caged birds always sound so cheerful when singing in cages, when they're not at all, so I think it's a good symbol for hiding your true self. In the inner world, the bird seems to be free, representing their freedom to express themselves through music. In the real world, expectations and society cage the bird; inside their brains, it's running free, creating all the music they express themselves through. And even though the bird can't fly in the real world, it still can fly in the inner world through his/their voice.
So I think in the end, they're saying they're caged birds, and their music and their craziness are what sets them free. They're free as long as their thoughts are.

The bird makes me think of a Cuckoo bird, and cuckoo generally refers to being crazy in the mind. I am not a bird expert, but there was an orange one on the internet so that could be it. There are also orange canaries and Tweety Bird was a canary in Looney Tunes. Also, the daylight and night scenes give contrast as you said. The daylight is the fake reality we pose and the night the true self/"craziness" inside of our minds. In the end, the bird is in the cage so you could say we keep our "cuckoo mind" caged. Also as for the drill, it is them trying to tighten the loose screw which is a common phrase. An even darker layer with the drill could emphasize a lobotomy which used to be a common practice to "fix" mental illnesses and neutralize the mind and destroys the person.
I’ve been a STAY for a while and this is BY FAR their most incredible video. Just when we think they couldn’t get any better (I honestly thought ‘Thunderous’ couldn’t be outdone), they do this. The artistry, the cinematography, the music, the lyrics…. It’s all IMMACULATE.

They release it when Felix “unscrews “the glass at the first chorus, then at the end it’s like lee know screws it back into the cage again (returning back to “normal” life) where everyone is kind of caged in, not letting their inner maniac run free. Going to have to watch it again.

I love, love, LOVE the song and the MV of this comeback SO MUCH. The transitions of what seemed to be like Thunderous-like music at the start to the drill sounds to the complete change of vibe of the chorus gave me serotonin omg and the MV AMPLIFIED THAT IM SO SO HAPPY
Edit: My interpretation of the birds here is that Stray Kids were trying to answer Maya Angelou's poem called "The Caged Bird". (Its a poem that basically conveyed America's situation at her time but It could also mean someone feeling restrained from expressing themselves while others seem to fly free and all to them). Like, they seem to reply that you are the one who is ultimately able to break free from your cage, and not be afraid to show who you are to everyone despite the frantic and crazy world out there.
It's like they say, the ignorance of a person in the face of a masterpiece will only think of it as it is, a masterpiece. But from the point of view of someone who's familiar with it can recognize it for its sheer magnificence, the details start to pop out.
