I was at the Philly show. Tool was on the second stage. Rage didn’t play. They stood on the stage naked with tape over their mouths and the letters PMRC painted on their chests. They were escorted off stage and those with ticket stubs could get in free when they came back to Philly later in the year. Touring with Quicksand.
Rachtman was such a kook. This was filmed in Charlotte, not N.J. and you can tell he knew he messed up. They come back from break and he just says "on location" because he still wasn't sure where they were. Tom Morello was screwing with Maynard Keenan, but mostly with Riki Rachtman there, because not many "Alt" rock band members liked Rachtman. They were trying to get him to screw up more by bringing up the high school thing. Tom Morello actually went to high school and was in a band with Tool guitarist Adam Jones, who played bass guitar in Morello's band. Rachtman would always learn like 2 details about a band and then act like he knew them forever, so they were having some fun. I thought it was ironic the guys from Tool thought Riki was a tool. I designed clothing back then and went to the Philly, Charles Town, and this, the Charlotte shows backstage handing out clothes to the bands. They were about 2/3's of the way through the tour in the heat of summer, so clean, fresh clothes were welcomed by all. I got to meet and hang out with quite a few guys from the bands on the tour. Funny enough but true, the elderly man that had a small part in the Arrested Development show, had, by far, the best weed out of anyone on tour. It was an awesome summer.
Man that is some really interesting stuff, never knew that Riki was such an unprepared idiot, you can see that Tom is somehow pissed of him and makes fun of the whole situation
@@miniaturethemepark94 He was a douche, saw him at plenty of places in NTC in the late 80's early 90's,; no one hung with him off camera 🤣 That was such a great tour though. When I saw Lollapalooza in 93, ratm was on the main stage and tool was on the second stage. Des Moines Iowa state fairgrounds.
