Just saw RATM last night and my life is complete 🥲
I never thought I’d see these two together in a video.
Estoy muy feliz que una de mis bandas favoritas volverá, que bueno que estoy vivo para ver esto
This video is a synthesis of everything I love
Takes me back. Great interview. Thanks!
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this ! It truly makes me genuinely sad and depressed to think that Noam Chomsky is not gonna be here in a couple years. What a tragic day that will be
Christian Rewoldt
No, men of his intellect have been systemically educated out of existence. Most people argue over gun control and abortion....
Talk to 9/10ths of your friends and bring up politics...
@@muntee33 damn you have a point...
@BallTistic Screecher fuck you bitch
I was thinking the same thing, it will be a sad day.
@BallTistic Screecher He is no Marxist . You don't know what you are talking about.
Great interview. Great set of questions. I loved RATM as a child so much that I recited one of Zac’s poems in English once. But it took a long time to understand exactly what it was about in the first place I just knew as a child it was something special even before having the capabilities to grasp the information.
Do you remember which poem it was?
totally loved this interview, never saw til now.
Who's here to hear Zach, his energy needs to be the voice of 2020
@Elizabeth Look at all these slavemasters posin on your dollar
He probably spends most of his energy counting all the money he has made through that mean oppressive 'ol capitalism. He has a net worth of $25 million dollars. He's a con man larping as a revolutionary.
@@lemurdream He's an artist and his band got their message out. I see no con.
softbatch! If it was only about the message it would be for free, not monetized or sold.
@@sebg5145 well people bought it freely
two of my favourite people ever
"Shit be grim, and de la born a reaper;
Born in the beast and fixin' feast tearin' its features;
The world surges, the nation's nervous;
The crowds awaken, they can't disperse us"
Zack is such an articulate man. What a great front man.
Zack: "Don't you agree with me?"
Naom: "Yes I do."
Zack: "I agree."
Thank you so much for reuniting! We need your music, and Chomsky’s insights, now more than ever. I’ve been actively organizing my community against the corporate capture of our country, but we’re lacking music that really speaks to the current disenfranchisement of the working class. Power to the people! #Bernie2020
Favorite band of all time. This interview happened late 90s and look how true its become.
45 yrs old and I have four CDs in my truck I rotate and rock out to full blast to and from work every morning..RATM’s Battle of LA and Evil Empire, Tool’s Aenima, and Traveller by Chris Stapleton. Most original sound badass artists of all time.
Two of the most great minds of the century! thats history, children of any time who seeing this!
Two LEGENDS!
Thank you Zach!
Love that, first question about NAFTA, Great job getting right into substantive questions
what??? i didn't know this conversation existed. Legends all around.
Damn! I love this Rage content :)
A very well informed and structured interview. Thank you.
Good interview! Great to see Zack in a different light.
My god we need Rage to come back, do it election year that would set this damn country on fire
I've been saying the same thing...they can light the fuse to set it off!!!
They’re touring in 2020
Your wish has come true. New tour dates as RATM in 2020!!!
RATM- World tour please, spread th word!

You are a fucking moron, save your gum flapping gibberish for someone who also drinks the koolaid. This is the most corrupt government in this lifetime.
This is the interview that set me off like 20 years ago. 100%
I'm ready for the tour!!
Your a very smart man Zach ,the way you speak no one would ever know you rock & spit 🔥 don't ever judge me from looking at it's cover!!!
This is literally the foundation of truth you learn in about 3-5 college courses but in less than 15min 😂
No it isnt. What IS true is that ratm IS the machine. They are as corporate as Bono, just look at all their ticket-prices (300 dollars+) and all the adverts. They work for and have been promoting the machine (through sony ) for almost 3 decades now.
@@dosanddonts2919 How else can they operate in a Capitalist country? Not only that, the resources it takes to set up these tours, events, personell, the charity too, etc.
Well its simple; if you dont pratice what you preach, you arent what you say you are. If your believe is really important to you you'll find a way obviously.
@@dosanddonts2919 I see it more as they are an 'oxymoron' in their practice, not hypocrites. A thin line between both words.
@@wespenn6139 Are you actually saying that they are RESTRICTED by capitalism to do what they want? No one HAS to take part in capitalism, as long as you have enough money to pay your bills. What other system would help them better with promotion and marketing? There isn't one. Unless you're talking about RATM being paid by government subsidies of course.
"Nafta was just the beginning.....the beginning of the fall....Lock em in with a treaty......lock em out with a wall!!!!" Lyrics for new ratm song "lock em in/lock em out" - lyrics written by N.Chomsky, D.Winkleman, Z. De La Rocha

🔥🔥🔥🔥
Clinton created the environment that made a wall necessary and democrats voted for for years. They don't want the wall now because NAFTA is done. Now they are stonewalling USMCA and the wall with bullshit impeachment proceedings instead of approving USMCA despite Canada and Mexico ratifying already
@Hayden R. Trump slipped TPP provisions into the NAFTA renegotiation. You defend the powerful and corrupt. We challenge them. If you think Trump is any different than the Clintons, you need to wake up.
@@danlboy2592 This isn't about Democrats vs Republicans bud. It never has been. If you don't accept both parties are completely and totally corrupt, including Trump and the Clintons, then you are part of the problem. The USMCA contains TPP provisions in it. And what do you think a wall is going to do? If you are risking travelling across harsh terrain, being raped and murders, with patrols and drones looking for you, you think a fucking wall is the thing that prevents you from crossing? One that has been shown it can be cut with a $100 saw from home depot? If Trump wanted to stop immigration, he'd target the businesses that benefit from it. But he won't. He hires undocumented immigrants. And he makes his clothing in China. He represents those businesses.
Thank you Mr.Chomky for the knowledge. ✊
Great video!
Oh sweet, been a while since I watched this. And when I did as a teen, a lot of it probably went over my head.
Neat quality as well!
When was this interview?
@@vaporosoez Description says 2000.
@@MarkArandjus amazing
I use to be a real shitty person, thought oppression was okay. Then I stumbled upon this lecture, I loved it and began listening to him more. My life radically changed, I became a kinder and more compassionate person. The lecturer was Noam Chomsky.
Nice. Keep up the good fight my dude.
you mean you checked your balls and manhood at the door .....wake up ....now i bet you bought all his books and fattened his pockets....ok im in.....
@@thomastaylor9579 No, I borrowed them from the library. I can't afford new books.
You kinda have to be a shitty/paranoid/angry person to be a conservative
i was there too, keep it up comrade
This was incredibly enlightening i need to do a lot of further reading on this subject
Jesus Christ this has been in a playlist for like a year I guess and finally I’ve watched it. So yes, I will as many of you be rocking in the freeeeeee world to RATM
VERY COOL !!!!🤘😎👍
Is it me or did Zack progressively match his croakiness to that of Chomsky's?
😂😂
Hahaha
It’s cause communists aren’t individualists. They’re all the same. Easily swayed by so called “intellectuals”
@@VividFilmProductions an interesting take. I've sometimes found myself wondering what form exactly incendiary rap-rock that exhorts listeners to "Fight the power" would take in any communist state.
David Smith they would literally be the first to go.
This interview should go far sense most are in lockdown! Love it!
Zack is a smart man, and works towards societal change. Much respect
Look at the joy on his face! Look at the pure joy he got from getting to talk to a person and learn a lil more from him! What a person to aspire to be like... ZDLR FOR PRESIDENT!
right!!! so cute watching him totally geek out haha
Yes! Can you imagine how great the country could become with Zach De La Rocha as president?!???? Oh he’d get my vote for sure!
Yeah but if you know Zack being president is one of the last things he would ever want

Great interview
Brilliant! this is good you tube! Apreciate it
"If the US wants to pull out of a treaty, that's no problem, we just tell them go shove it"
Mark Hayes I have no stakes in this either.
Sarah Kelly ok
@Sarah Kelly 500 treaties down the drain...but if another super power pulls out of a treaty or a nation that can "DEFEND it self" does it... oh boy ... the " boogie man comes out" " false flags" "biological warfare" "character assassination" "tariffs" " embargoes" " all the -isms are plastered all over the press" and every single trick you could imagine. The same thing they do to a person they do it at the nation level.
If there was ever a time we needed a RATM record, it's now. Hoping to God it's a true successor to evil empire, that's one of the greatest albums of all time, followed closely by RATM's self titled debut.
Great interview, People We have to open Our eyes, there's too much going on to stay SLEEP!!!.
That's was beautiful... glad I came across it. Chomsky and de la Rocha... doesn't get much better than that.
Ironically, I had to watch two commercials in order to watch this.
Worth it...

For billionaire presidential candidate Bloomberg
Rage Against the Machine wouldn't exist without Chomsky.
RATM wouldn't exist without Marx.
Yes, and Zack was clearly in fanboy heaven talking to him ! It's like a religious person finally getting to meet god.
RATM wouldn't exist without Frantz Fanon either.
@James Bales How do you watch this content and remain that ignorant? The numbers are what they are you poor fool.
@James Bales LOL Sure slavery only happens in communist societies LOL. Great argument !
