The thing I like the most about this mix is that it sounds indoors. Haha. The original sounds VERY outdoors for some reason, but this one is so private. It's almost like a whisper. It's awesome.
This is easily the best version of this song I've ever heard, after listening to remixes of it for years. The fact that it's all real instruments is incredible as well.
I'm so glad you liked it so much! I can always find a hundred things I could have done better in these recordings, but it makes me really happy when there are people that enjoy them just the way they are :)
This is a beautiful arrangement, it's like heavy on the drum and feels like a slow fire crawling up your body. It's dark and dangerous like a panther on the prowl
@BathrobeGuitarGuy Thank you for taking the time to listen! :D Looking back to this recording, there are parts I wish I had done differently or could've added. My intention was to stay with the original structure of the song with the instrumentation being the only difference. Maybe one day I'll revisit this piece and have some more fun with it! =P
What I really like about this in comparison to other mixes is that it maintains it's subtlety, whereas other version are incredibly epic, which is fine and they sound nice, but I think the best part of the Stone Tower Temple theme (much like the rest of the game) is how humble and soft it is, despite it's impact on the whole thing.
Oh, I'm happy to hear it helps you relax! Every time I listen to my own work, I tend to only hear every single flaw there is or what I could have done better xD I'm glad my listeners are a lot more forgiving than I am of myself, heheh.. we do tend to be our own worst critic xD. Regardless, I find it very fulfilling, as a musician, when there are people who find enjoyment in my little musical creations :)
Can I just say, that as a cello player, I'd gladly hang back and play the harmony for this. Normally, I prefer melody in anything where a cello could play, but this.. if I got a bunch of friends together, this would be the one exception. You've got the marks of a composer.
@docnanomusic oh thank you so much!! I had intended for it to be a strings only arrangement as a little experiment, but then I started to mess around on Logic and ended up with what you're hearing XD It brought a whole different feel than it would've been with strings only :)
This is strikingly beautiful. The arrangement is haunting and keeps that tribal feel to it. You should be immensely proud of this. I found it today and have shared it many times already.
Damn. I've been browsing for good Stone Tower Temple arrangements for 20 minutes and this just blew the rest out of the water. I am so glad you spent the time to put this together. Thank you for this excellent piece!
Thanks for listening! I'm sorry that you found the violin (and viola & cello?) to be terrible. I know that my recordings are never perfect and may have many flaws, but I always try to do the best I can to make a satisfactory recording.
This is so damn beautiful, the best arrangement for my favorite Majora's Mask song. If this game is ever re-made, it would only befit to have the Stone Tower themed with such quality as this, of course I'm downloading!
Wow! It feels to me like you really understood what this song was trying to convey with the way you integrated a tribal tone over it all. I've always imagined the creators of Stone Tower to have been some kind of ancient voodoo-ish tribe. I love your arrangement!
Yes Indeed! I think the Violin and the Cello capture the mournful and dark aspects of the stone towers history while the tribal drums for some reason enhances the threatening and cursed environment of the place. Actually, I love it so much I've played it probably 20 or more times today. You should sincerely continue on making these :D
Mein Favorit!
I really like the stone tower temple theme, and other videos dont exemplify its genius like yours. I definitely agree with other commentors here, this is what i was looking for. This helps me concentrate on my homework and relax. x) So on the contrary, i really thank you. Nice work :)
Most people seem to not understand this song is reserved for a reason, and their interpretations tend to be really loud and outgoing. I like this one a lot better. Kudos.
ketherga honestly i feel like it can work both ways, the loud orchestal versions are the ones they played when the ancient Ikanians build the temple, when they were at war with the goddesses and erected statues sitting on and licking the triforce mocking the sacred relic, the iconoclasm at full swing, while this sadder, nostalgic, more restrained version (more indoors-y as some other commenter described it) fits better with the remmaining garos retelling the legend around the fire somewhere hidden in the desserted valley or a dark corner of the temple, telling a tale of hubris and the ironic falling up to the heavens and the curse that later came to this land as punishment for their heresy
Very nice to see a version of this song that actually remains true to the sound of the original...a melancholy, haunting dirge. Well done. One thing I feel differently about - in my view, the 1-5-1-5-1-5-6 line is more critical to the overall sound of the piece than it gets credit for in this arrangement, as it is played solely on a quiet stringed intstrument and only gets one bar to itself before the melody comes in. Overall, though, excellently done.
Mother of god, this deserves a hundred times as many views/faves than it has. Next time I play through MM I'm going to mute the game volume and crank this up on repeat on my laptop. Honestly, I'm not a flatterer by nature--I just think you're downright incredible.
oh, this is so beautiful! loove the sounds of the violin! and the drums make it so dramatic! :D the pictures are awesome, too!! loooooooooooooooooooove it!!
Hey, thanks! I can't promise anything (but I will try!), since I've already gotten a few other requests for sheet music arrangement that I haven't even started on.. It's a bit difficult to find time x(
This is really good but it's got a different mood compared to the original. This one sounds much more heroic when compared to the original which was dark and Erie with a small flicker of hope. This version is still really good, though. It's just different.
this is REALLY well done, sounds absolutely professional. not to mention the atmosphere is perfectly eerie and hopeless. I guarantee if you change your tags up you'll get more views
Koji Kondo would be proud my friend. May the flow of time treat you and yours well.
The thing I like the most about this mix is that it sounds indoors. Haha. The original sounds VERY outdoors for some reason, but this one is so private. It's almost like a whisper. It's awesome.
I know what you mean. You could really feel the heat of a sunny day
This is my favorite version of Stone Tower!
Same

Your description is as beautiful as the song.
*****
=^-^='
I misread it as 'panther on the pillow' and I was like...
Wut?
This is spectacular!
He said in the description that there are some inperfections with it, but this is absolute awesomeness.
@BathrobeGuitarGuy Thank you for taking the time to listen! :D

I've been putting this on replay over a week now... best remix of stone temple out on youtube

Thank you! So glad you liked it! I was definitely going for that vibe and I hoped it was fitting with the instruments I used.
my all time favorite zelda tune just got 10x better!
I really appreciate that. Thanks so much for listening!

This has been out for 10 years now and this is the first time I hear that one. (and boy did I listen to tons of stone tower mix)
Love the recorder!
Can I just say, that as a cello player, I'd gladly hang back and play the harmony for this. Normally, I prefer melody in anything where a cello could play, but this.. if I got a bunch of friends together, this would be the one exception. You've got the marks of a composer.
Thanks so much Aura, it really means a lot to me when people leave such sweet comments :)

This is an incredibly amazing portrayal of the song. I love it.
I've read other remixes and this is awesome in comparisson
It makes me think of Golden Sun. Love it.
I love how powerful the Cello is.
I'm so glad you liked it, thank you!
Oh my... I love it *-*
0_0 My mind is LITERALLY BLOWN. SO... AMAZING!
Beautiful! This is my favorite temple song and you perfected it. You captured the haunting and ancient wonder vibe. Thank you!
This is truly a beautiful remix.
The epicness o_____o I could die happy just listening to this.

This is just great.
I really love this one. I listen to it a lot since i love Majora's Mask and especially this song!
Anyone else agree that this is the best Zelda song period?
Yes Indeed! I think the Violin and the Cello capture the mournful and dark aspects of the stone towers history while the tribal drums for some reason enhances the threatening and cursed environment of the place. Actually, I love it so much I've played it probably 20 or more times today. You should sincerely continue on making these :D
A most excellent version of this eerie yet beautiful song! Kudos!
eerie and Beautiful
Thank you for listening to it :)

Ich kenne das Gefühl noch... xD
Mein Lieblings-Zelda

Thank you so very much for listening! I'm super happy that you liked it!
It certainly has that vibe!
Thanks so much! I had intended for this to just be a trio for violin, viola, and cello but then that plan obviously changed xD
and thank you for listening!

Its amazing. I love the instruments used in this
Somehow this was exatlly the remix i was looking for. MASTERPIECE!

best version on youtube in my opinion. Extremely well done
beautiful violin
This needs more views - It deserves more than You were aiming for.
As everyone else has already said, this is unbelievably well done. Thank you for making this, you are extremely talented. :)
This instrument combination is perfect for the music. Kudos!!
@persainai Eeeek!! Thank you so much for listening! *o*
This is fantastic. Bravo on using so many instruments and being perfectly in tempo! You really gave it a tribal feel.

This is really good but it's got a different mood compared to the original. This one sounds much more heroic when compared to the original which was dark and Erie with a small flicker of hope. This version is still really good, though. It's just different.
