Ok - just listened through this again and - for all I LOVE David Cook's renditions, and the haunting beauty of his 9/11 memorial performance in KC - Patrick's sheer talent blows David out of the water! Holy COWS! Many of them! His vibrato, his control ... there were a few slightly different pronunciations, but they had more the feel of stylistic change to better suite his singing than anything else. His fluid shifting between bold and strident (the closing for sure!) and an almost light, airy tone that STILL manages to carry. Sooo many things to say on this so I'll stop here before I run out of space and get irritated.
