      I've been doing Russian manicure for 15 years. I don't have any problems. You need to choose a master who sterilizes all the tools. And after the manicure, the infection does not disappear due to the lack of a cuticle. Wash your hands more often with soap, carry antiseptics with you and problems with infections will be minimized.

      Just because some dont get infected doesnt mean they arent still dangerous. Its very easy to damage nails and the actual skin around your nails on your fingers during day to day life, and if you do when you have nails like this, infection can set in and be very difficult to heal

    There is so much misinformation in this comment section. Cuticle isnt alive its dead flaky skin. If you cut live tissue it bleeds. She's not bleeding people, they just push the proximal nail fold back farther and lift it a bit more than a regular manicure. They use tiny brushes to get under that lifted skin, then the skin settles back down on its own and the polish looks very clean is prettier longer because it takes longer to see that space where the polish starts. I learned to do this on myself, and I'm a nurse, as long as the tools are clean and the person is knowledgeabcle, this is fine.

    • @lindsaypaige4628
      @lindsaypaige4628 5 месяцев назад +5

      No, they most definitely use scissors or nippers to cut the proximal nail fold. Just because it doesn’t bleed doesn’t mean it wasn’t living skin.

      Obviously someone who knows what they were doing worked on her and her living tissue was not removed. This can be done safely if somebody is specifically trained in Russian manicure. It is the terrible shops and untrained nail techs who cut people up and infect them. And that is a reason Russian manicure got blamed in the United States but it is not the Russian manicure itself. It is the people doing it wrong.

      @ritassoul3516 it's the barrier to stop bacteria, and disgusting stuff from becoming embedded and creating infection. It's not supposed to be cut off for a more fashionable look. It actually plays a large roll in nail health. This girls fingers looked clubbed now. She looks like her finger nails are showing the signs of a thyroid issue. There shud be a slight dip or space from the polished nail to the finger skin and there isnt. That thick polish shudnt be butted right up next to where a cuticle shud be. It even looks bad, never mind the fact that it is bad for over all nail health.

    Russian manicure may look nice for about 3 days, then the live skin you cut around the nail thinking that is the cuticle ( not , that’s not the cuticle!) is growing back as ragged as it was or even worse. There is a lady at The salon life channel who explains why it is important to keep the skin around the nail intact and only push it down gently.
