In Europe we consider the RE Interceptor and Continental classic bikes with modern engine. Honest machines at a reasonable price from a historic brand.
From this perspective, Alloy wheels do not make any sense. I would add that that the blackout engines are another nonsense decision.
Yes but Indian road conditions aren't as neat as the UK so alloy wheels are recommended in order to avoid frequent punctures in the wheel.

I believe that the weight saving happens more in case of cars where the steel wheels are heavy, but in motorcycles, spoke wheels tend to be equal to or lighter than alloys.
Have you been tried to lift spoke wheel of Interceptor, it's heavy enough, and weight increase is for all the varients, and it's may not be true

How many cases have you seen, that a royal Enfield original alloy wheel get broken? I saw a Gixxer front wheel broken in front of a police station, most probably after an accident.
