Great video guys! I'm in the process of swapping my Conti GT to Interceptor top yoke and bars, though I will leave the footpegs as they are. A return to biking after a 10 year lay off has made me realise that I need more of that 'swiss army knife' type of bike. I found my wrists sore and fingers going a bit numb after about 40 minutes on the GT. At least the parts are relatively cheap to do the swap.
Cheers and thanks for watching, good to hear you are back into biking. The Interceptor is definitely a do it all kind of bike. We have just actually finished filming two more of these sitting round having a chat type videos, they'll be up on the channel in the coming months.
G'day Ross Great comparison and chat on the two bikes. Your home made burgers 🍔 also look great! I will be looking more into both bikes 👌 Thanks Nigel 📬🛵😄
I just got back from a local ride on my Conti GT. I'm addicted, there I said it! Love the sound, love the position and the bike gets lots of looks and the occasional wave or thumbs up. I find the bars very comfortable, but they are adjustable. I dropped mine by an inch and folded them back in to the tank a little. It's less of a stretch, although it reduces the turning circle a bit. I'm looking for some aftermarket exhausts that have a nice sound, and maybe save some weight, so if anyone has any suggestions. I was looking for chrome rather than stainless or brushed look. I would like to gradually go through the bike and replace the cheap plastic bits for more solid metal or chrome parts - eg the indicators, and the rear light mount. I agree about the alloy headlight mount, it should be black. My bike has the full chrome headlight, but it looks very thin plating and needs to be re-done or maybe painted black. I like the theme of black and chrome for a bike, in case you didn't pick that up ;) I changed the tyres when I bought it to Pirelli sport demons. Thanks for the clip, very informative 👍🇦🇺
I’m pretty sure they BT46s were the same size as the stock Pirelli’s. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it. Hoping to do another couple of firepit chat videos soon
That's funny Ross "If it sounded louder I'm definitely going faster.." I think it does that to lots of us . Yes..I might well chuck a comment on all the vids I watch... love bikes (51 to date..yes, i'm old ) ...and got the flu...and it's raining in NZ .. and it's winter, what can I say . I am enjoying them though . Dave NZ
i am a Royal Enfield fan from my childhood, i already own 350 classic. now im willing to a bike in 650 segment, which one is better? Interceptor 650 or Continental GT 650? I want ur Lil advise and opinion which one to go with
No channel yet talks extensively about after market parts for RE. These two bikes are the same. It’d be great to know what I can do aftermarket to know how I can make these bikes “my bike”
Loved video beginning to very end. Even inclusion of bum with Triumph tee. I actually like the alloy trims and definitely wheels. I think black cheapens the look ... same in cars. I come from an era when chrome and alloy only came on premium vehicles. Base models got black.
Beautiful comparo guys. Definitely two pearlers of a bike. Shame about the tyres. The CEAT brand tend to be cheapish, the fact that it has "Nylon" on the sidewall doesn't really encourage confidence. I like my rubber made from rubber. I'm turning "twin clocks" into a drinking game. Surfside's trail 650 is a gem. I'd love to take that off road. RE needs to release such a machine. Looking forward to riding the Scram. I think it looks brilliant as a run-a-bout UAV (Urban Assault Vehicle). More beards and bald heads!!!!
Great chat and comparo, guys. I found it interesting that Rob modded his Continental GT to be more like the Interceptor. I went the other way with my InterContinental 865 by swapping the standard Interceptor pegs, etc. for the Continental GT set-up. I fitted slightly lower bars and that made it perfect for me. The great thing about these bikes is that they’re so easy and relatively cheap to modify that people can set them up to suit their own needs and riding style. Thanks again for the great videos 🤙
I think the stock tyre’s are very good ,I ride hard and have scraped both foot pegs. They have covered 10,000 klms with no problems even at high speeds.
Interesting, have you got the CEAT tyres or the Pirelli’s that came on the original twins. I think blue found this issue with the CEATs not the Pirelli’s
Same I find the CEATs are fine. Ex road racer here. Sure I’ll put BT46s on when they oems wear out but I can hustle just fine in the twisties and diner have any of the High speed issues some report
Its honestly apples&oranges, both way to different to compare,i own gt,ridden the inter, there both different&id say inter is more new rider friendly 100% Edit-i felt i could trailbike inter up mt everest,on my conti.. those ceat tyers are death stalking my every turn,on customisation there amazingly simple&so many parts for value, its great
Interesting comparison and hints on a possible evolution of the 650 twin as a powerplant for something completely different. You might like a look here too. ruclips.net/video/VV4oXbI5Yas/видео.html
You should easily get to 100,000 subscribers, great style and content. Cheers from Canada, Ronny
Thanks Ronny, hope so but 100,000 subs is a long way away. Glad you like the content.
Best segment name on RUclips.

Absolutely great review fella's!👌
GT for me.
That fire pit looks very inviting to have a beer (or 3) around! 👌
Definitely red wine or whisky weather around the fire pit at the moment. Glad to hear you enjoyed it

Thanks chaps, cool fire pit.
Thanks Keith. The fire pit is certainly getting a work out in this cool weather we’ve been having in Sydney

Agree the CGT is a pretty addictive bike and great platform for customisation. Enjoy making some mods and thanks for watching
Hi , guys. Great comparation, can I ask for the size of the tires you replace the stock ones ?

Interceptor is more practical, but I personally love the Continental GT
Legendary 👏 Love the video very helpful

Excellent discussion, very knowledgable and informative, but how did that guy with the Triumph shirt get to be at the dinner table ?
He was just some bum who looked lost and in need of a feed.
@@BikerTorque Any more of that funky cauliflower?

Gday what tail light do you have on the Conti GT ?
Bought a Kit from Tec in the UK, tail light, indicators and new wiring harness

CEAT , just fitted a new set 😎
Here in Switzerland, they are clearly overpriced. They cost 10k€. For the same price, you get a Moto Guzzi V7!
I’d go for the Guzzi in that case
@@BikerTorque yep, and the Guzzi "birth clinic" is about 300km from my place! The nearest motor cycle factory for sure!

Liking the name of this series.
If I had to pick one, I would go the interceptor.

Two champion blokes chewing the fat. I’ve never ridden a Royal Enfield. One day.
