Pin holder is a Japanese flower arrangement material. Its called kenzan. I don't know why it is also called floral frog. This is excellent material for a sustainable flower arrangements. The Royal horticultural society mentioned pin holder in their Chelsea flower show this year.
You are so welcome. There are lots of types of Pin holders, (as I call them) but its also known as the proper name Kenzan. You can get ones that are flat and even bevelled ones to sit in a dish, there are square ones, rectangular ones, mini ones and extra large ones.
The RHS have became foam free to encourage less use of single use plastic, so promoting all types of pin holders would be extremely beneficial to arrangers planning on attending.
Wow, thank you! But I'm certainly not an expert in Ikebana, its just a simple style of flower arranging to me. I don't know enough about the proper rules for a true Ikebana, but I enjoyed a little play around
Cor Sharon what a marvellous find. Your charity shops are so much better than the ones I frequent, might have to move to Wales. I love Ikebana, going to do a very short course next year, can’t wait. Did you find it relaxing?
I love charity shopping and find arranging flowers very relaxing and rewarding. Proper Ikebana is very serious!!! As the rules are very strict and very different from western arranging. But you will love it. I'm not trained in Ikebana, so an expert may feel I've done an awful job.
@@sharondower your not wrong about Ikebana being serious. I watched a video where the Ikebana master gave examples on how not to embarrass yourself!!😱 They make it look so easy. I will also be doing my own interpretation on the art. It’s only a four lessons.
I would have cut off the top small iris that flows to the side and added it in low at the side. I feel it would look better, no offence. I am not a florist.
Wow! So excited to watch this!
Hope you liked it!

Thank you. It's another inspiration.
