We all think that Goundar Shipping would use their money to refurbish all of their current ferries. But instead they keep buying more and there is no maintenance what so ever. So pathetic and this will definitely chase tourists away from Fiji.
For sure, couldn't agree more. The $6m they spent on another 25yo ferry last week, would have been better spent on refurbishment and mechanical maintenance of their current fleet. The customer experience is pretty abysmal and unfortunately this is the only form of affordable travel between islands for many people here in Fiji 🇫🇯 if tourists watch the video and see the conditions onboard, then they will fly 100 times out of 100 times! Sad really, whilst the fat cats milk all the profit out of the company and offshore 💸
There should be higher standards enforced by the government. It is not a good advert for Fiji. I feel for local people who have no other option but to put up with the conditions whilst the companies reap the profits and continue to offer the same standards, week in and week out. @fijitimeislandlifevlog Couldn't agree more. The trip to Taveuni was at the end of a tropic storm and was very rough. I travelled with 3 Fijian friends, and if it hadn't been for them, I'd have flown back to Nausori. Great memories of Taveuni, we stayed at Tovu Tovu resort near Matei. Seems that it has been renamed as Maruva Taveuni Lodge.

Great vlog. I made the ferry trip on the Adi Savu Savu.Both ways. About the same standard of maintenance. Lots of cockroaches. 🪳

Savusavu is nice, but taveuni island, alot nicer place, you have Bouma water falls. Plus good diving places to....
