Universal Orlando recently now requires proof of disability through a third party private company out of Jacksonville, Florida to screen guests for disability access. On the IBCCES site, the application process includes a drop down menu with a list of potential accommodations including, but not limited to: wheelchair access, service animals, bathroom usage, reasons to wait outside line queues related to visual/hearing, and sensitivity disabilities. Under this drop menu it clearly states, that these accommodations are not guaranteed, and may need a financial cost associated with them. When I contacted the IBCCES chat, a private company, they stated in chat 1. financial cost of accommodation is up to the theme park, 2. To register and provide proof of service animal with them, 3. The cost of a service animal at check in at hotels, is up to the hotel. 4. To be ready to provide proof of the service animal at theme parks, through the IBCCES Card. Guests also have to pre register for this, with possibilities of at least 48 hours, so if a person decided to go to Universal Orlando in a spur of the moment, they would be denied accessibility. It is likely at check in at a hotel or to be stopped by a cast member and be required to show "papers" showing the service animal is registered through IBCCES. These are clear violations under the ADA. I have reported Universal Orlando to the DOJ Civil Rights Division which overseas matters such as this with ADA Violations. A video is coming to my channel explaining this more. Stay tuned for it. As a content creator, who has disabilities, who has morals, I cannot be quiet or numb to not speaking up for things that I do not see as morally correct. #universalorlando #aap #disabilityaccess #serviceanimal #servicedog #universalhotels #civilrights #ada

I am more than happy to supply medical documentation. It helps prevent people taking advantage of the systems. We are always required to produce it here in the UK. Our son was awarded the gold AAP today and we are very grateful for it.

We love you Nicole!! Keep kicking a** and taking names later! We follow your channel for guidance and the hope that my family and I can go back to Universal again one day. You are a realist and you don't cover everything with "fairy" dust. We would not have found your channel if it wasn't for us looking into information on these things with the theme parks and everything that has happened to my husband in the last 7 months, who is a permanent disabled vet. Keep on doing what you do and stay strong! ❤

I am so happy and appreciative that you found my channel and that we can create this community where we can share similar experiences. I was very grateful to learn about the Gold AAP, which means that upon return to the attraction, that a cast member will guide you to the loading area of the ride, and that you can avoid a possible who knows how long wait in the fast pass queue which could be very long. I am curious to research whether a Gold AAP exists with the DAS Pass at Disney, because for example when I returned to Ratatouille, the return line was over 2 hours, and I had to leave the attraction. But thank you again for watching, and for your kind comment. :)

I am going to Universal Hollywood this month and talked to a guy name Sam who handles disability to find out that someone who needs to rent an EVC for $60, has to park it out of the ride (doesn't fit in the line), have to get a wheelchair from employee and wait in line, ride, then somehow get back to your EVC and get the wheelchair back to employee. If I am alone, how do they think I could do this? There was more conversation, but basically Universal makes it hard for disabled to use the park.

Please suggest an alternative method? Your ecv can’t fit in the queque, that’s not really anything they can do. If you have a gold AAP you can be escorted and usually don’t need the wheel chair. Also let me know if this is ableist but if transferring from an ECV to a wheel chair and back is too difficult than maybe you should be coming to the parks by yourself? If it’s an electric wheel chair I know it can go on as long as it has the same degrees of freedom as a regular wheel chair.

Really shocked at Universal's approach to disability assistance. So I'm visiting Universal for 10 days and flying across from the UK tomorrow to experience HHN and all things Universal. I went through the process of signing up for IBCCES in July, as I understood that they were changing their process for obtaining the AAP. I got doctors letters and everything approved and was told by Universal that somebody would call me 48 hours before I arrive. I have to chase them as I hadn't heard anything back and I got a call today, explaining that my disability 'Crohn's disease' was no longer accepted as a reason to obtain an AAP and that I have to attempt to make contact with a cast member whilst in line and they will escort me back to my party. This is honestly appalling, I was there in July just before they switched systems and had no problems with obtaining the AAP. It's really upsetting and I'm not sure I can put myself through the next 10 days of struggling and being made to feel awkward and uncomfortable. It's going to complete wreck what is an expensive holiday! Can't believe that they're taking this approach and I have no idea what to do.

These disabilities are all covered by the ADA, and it will take time for lawsuits to come forward. In the mean time I will go to Disney.

Love you for speaking up for the folks who have a disability and want to patronize these amusement parks. I hope they get sued big time because they truly don't care until tragedy happens and the world is made aware of it. Greed....

Had plans to go to Disney, I broke my leg, got a scooter, an air cast, and went anyway...surprises all day. Worst one was refused assistance getting a wheel chair, note they said I could not take my scooter in the line, I had to use a wheel chair, OK do you have a wheel chair? I was told over there, I went there, no wheel chairs? Went back to the front of the line and Zero help? I told the rest of my group to just go without me...as I tried to set and wait outside the ride and not be upset... Also went to Universal on the trip and had issues with transferring from scooter to wheel chairs at the line entry, note if you can get a wheel chair thru some of those lines by yourself you are better than me...Had to have many others help, but only one helped me over a five day park experience...ADA really needs to go to the parks in a wheel chair with a stop watch, try to go thru lines in a wheel chair and time the "Fast pass, express pass and or wait times in lines". The accessibility issues; the struggles are real, and I do not see Parks helping by putting hidden magic hoops you need to jump thru at every turn. How is it possible that I have to explain many many times as I set in a wheel chair with a cast on that no I can not stand in a line for two hours? or even 10 minutes on one leg?

Good video if I want to visit 1 day do I need to register for the disability pass program online.
Or I can just get the paper for 1 day
    What do I say
They change it before it was no question asked.
Is better paying for express pass and forget the hassles

    • @NicoleIleneGreensher

The disability pass is for guests with disabilities. It is different than the Express Pass. As was with the former AAP Pass guests do not skip the line, they wait outside the line the same amount of time. If a guest has disabilities they should not be pressured into purchasing a express pass, because these are two very different things. With the ADA a guest cannot be charged a fee for accommodations, plus we wait the same amount of time outside the line, so there is no perk that is being given. To answer your question, yes they will require IBCCES approval even if you are there for a day. This video you watched does not go over the changes that are now in place with IBCCES. I have a few videos on the channel explaining a lot of this new way that Universal handles disability access.

What Universal Orlando is doing is against the ADA. People who abuse the system is irrelevant, Universal has to follow the ADA. I have screen chats from today from IBCCES saying that service animals need proof or they cannot be on property at Universal after July 24, I am pretty sure that is against not only federal law but State of Florida law as well. I have reported Universal to the DOJ.

I myself have an invisible disability. It’s not apparent at first so I appear to be quite normal. It’s the claustrophobic feeling in line surrounded by many people that I have issues with( panic attacks, fight or flight shakes etc) I feel like now I need a permission slip from my doctor to just access the aap now( not that I think the people faking it don’t deserve some pushback) but I live 2 and 1/2 hours away from Disney and universal, and now I feel like spontaneous trips up to the parks are a thing of the past. I have to preregister for das and now I must pre register with a doctors note for universal.

@@YourGlamorousLatina Universal or Disney rejected this? Universal and Disney, as well as any other park, or business has to adhere to the ADA, the Americans With Disability Act, and the disability passes that they grant, if a disability or symptom falls under these guidelines, then they have to give you the accommodations. When being screened for the passes, you also do not need to tell them the disorder name, but rather how the symptom will be an issue in a long line queue. I hope that info helps :)
