Your video was suggested very randomly on my feed, im glad youre living this life im actually a little jealous but happy for you even tho i dont know u :D thx for sharing you sound like a nice guy
Hey Andrew! You should join ACE! We're a group of coaster enthusiasts that travel around the country going to theme parks. I live in Orlando now, but ACE members live all around the country and we host events at various parks with dedicated ride time, behind the scenes tours and more. There's hundreds of us!
I did this too five years ago. Just randomly on a whim decided I wanted to move to Orlando to work in Disney and I'm still here. The problem with it curing depression is that you're still you. Moving doesn't magically cure yourself. You can't escape yourself, unfortunately. But you do have a bunch of cool stuff around you, so that's fun. I got fat, though, so I can't really go to Universal anymore. Wait until you get that full 100 degree heat in summer. That was a shock the first time I felt it.
Dude, your video was awesome! I can totally relate to everything lol from the daily grind to the hype of planning a theme park trip. I live super far away, but watching this gave me hope that maybe one day I can move to Florida and change things up, just like you did. Seriously, this hit me hard lol. Big congrats, man! I watched the whole video and I’m so happy for you! I’m actually going to Florida for the first time ever at the end of January so wish me luck! haha
Awesome video! I’m from South Florida but went to school at BYU and then moved to Orlando. I love the more relaxed feel of the parks that you talked about when you live close by. You can just spend a few hours and still have a good time. Always looking to meet new friends at the park as well!
It looks like you made a good choice for what you wanted. I would have gone the opposite way, LOL, I want a place deep in the mountains where I don't see anyone else unless I actively look for someone. The key is you actually did something, instead of fussing around you took action. I think that's great!
You're truly inspiring, I've grown up going to theme parks and I've always brushed off the idea of moving to Florida because it just didn't ever seem realistic for me but wow this really makes me want to move lol
Hey Andrew! I don’t even know how this ended up on my homepage but it did. Thought it was a bigger channel till I looked and was shocked how good the video was for so little recognition. I currently attend UCF and was born here in Florida. My time here in Orlando I’ve been to so many cool places and restaurants. If you want I’d be so down to hang out I need more friends. But definitely there is so much more to see Orlando.
So I kind of did the same thing back in 2019. I came from Montana and was just tired of the mundane day to day and bored of the same activities like you said. I ended up switching careers once I was here and ended up making a ton of great friends. We didn’t come here strictly for the theme parks, but it was a big positive in our list of pros. But there’s so much to do here in the state that my fiancé and I still have a giant list of stuff to do. I know you said you haven’t made very many friends but if you ever need a park friend or want to some ideas of stuff to do feel free to reach out! Loved the video.
Wow this really opened my eyes! It’s ok to really like theme parks, I visit my parents in Orlando all the time, and I definitely took advantage of the annual passes. It changed my view completely, I too kinda want to Orlando even though it’s a 4 hour drive away
I felt this! I've been single for a while now and work from home as well. It can definitely feel like you're alone in the world and like your life is an endlessly repeating cycle of nothing. Once you get 'enough' money your motivation for work kind of tanks too. I'd like to find a relationship but the dating app experience is not fun :(. My release valve has been raves and music festivals, I went to 2 festivals and 10-15 shows last year and found a lot of true joy though that. The people are always having an amazing time and a lot easier to connect with than in normal life when I do leave my house. Bravo on taking the leap to make a change and good luck on this new phase of your life!
I get what you mean about losing motivation once you have money. I have more money saved than ever now, and don't even know where to go up from here, so I have a really hard time caring about work now lol
@@andrewplatt7076 So true. It's a good place to be though, just gotta find meaning elsewhere haha. Dunno if you're a festy person but you should check out Rockville next year, it's pretty close to Orlando and the linup is 🔥
Glad to hear from you again. I'm also severely introverted, but I would still go to clubs just to see a band I liked. As long as I enjoy the music, I'd consider it a good night.
So happy for you! I hope you and Faye aren't missing each other too much. Do you think you might get another cat? Not sure about your haircut though. Your long hair was beautiful.
I do miss Faye, and am excited to see her for christmas. My cousin has been taking good care of her though, so I think she is happy. I don't see myself getting another pet until I have a family and a house. its too hard to travel when you have one.
Good to see you. I missed your internet presence. A damp gulf 40 degrees Is like a Dry 10 degrees & that danp air chills you to your bones. You'll have to find a place to light fireworks on your birthday.
I've lived in Orlando for 15 years now and you've gone to all of the parks more in the past year than I ever have. - The lack of rain is something that has definitely changed over the past decade. In the summers it used to rain everyday at at 3pm for around 30 minutes. It's gotten a lot more varied now and it rains less often. - Quiet night walks: You're definitely in a more dense and busy touristy area. There is a place I'd recommend, won't name it because I don't want to dox you or myself. I'd say it's not walking distance but considering you biked to universal, you could bike there. - As for curing depression: I think that it's not nessacarily Orlando or the theme parks but simply being in a new location that "resets" your habits and routines and forces you to restructure your life. -Also Highly recommend checking out some state parks and springs and stuff.
As someone who lives in the Northern Rockies part of the US: Yeah, the nights here get a _lot_ colder than 40. That said, It's very dry up in the mountains; and humid 40 hits _real_ different than dry 40.
Dude! I moved from Tampa to Orlando back in the summer of this year, basically doing the same thing! Been living off my Disney pass as a reason to get out of the house since. 😅 We should hang in the parks! I swing by them after work some week days.
@@andrewplatt7076 glad you're doing well. you sound happier, more confident and satisfied with life now. hope to hear follow-ups on how good your life is improving. wishing you all the best in finding someone to share your adventures with.

Good job for getting yourself to make a big change. Most people can’t.

I'm so glad to see you are going outside. I worried about you being inside all the time. Sending positive thoughts for you to find a girlfriend soon.

I still have a lot to learn about the area. I think thats what makes it exciting

I would say thats not a far move, but I really feel the pain every time I head to busch haha
@andrewplatt7076 I-4 is unrelenting and takes no prisoners. 🫠
Not watched the video yet but hope you’re doing well, Andrew. I miss your videos.
Hopefully the video explains how well I'm doing 🙂

can you share advice on a successful step for a remote job that pays well?
hmm, not really. my circumstances are pretty unique there. Though I don't think working remote is required to have flexibility to chase your dreams
Brooooo not the girlfriend portion! You can explore with friends
lol I didnt even realize it was you when I saw this comment
