Great video ! i would love to drive the 'space ship' at 1:20 (BHU) as they were known, also a K series and my personal favourite - a Bristol Lodekka. All i managed to drive for a living was a stinking Atlantean ( Yellow buses) and the useless VR's (Badgerline) Nice to see a Damory from my neck of the woods !
I helped with the running of these BVBG bus rallies at this time and had several vehicles in attendance , they were incredibly busy events and enjoyed by many not like the shambles it is today..
This is right up my Street Kev. What a great video you've made. I can count at least 7 vehicles here i drove on service when i was on Bristol Omnibus and later Badgerline. This will go into my favourites. Wish i'd known it was on...i would have come to it...Never mind. Cheers...Steve.~
Thx Steve, brought back some memories then, I'm not really into buses but I like anything old (not women, lol),, and I like to film stuff like this, I can remember riding on some of these buses when I was a kid.
why we are amazed by vintage, answer is simple they defied age the inventors perspective for the future the continuing legacy, family and friends gather here their grandfather shadows
I've never seen a bus like the one at 16:10! I wonder how many towing buses were ever built? Harldy any vintage bus gathering occurr in America! How common are they in the UK?
That's a very misleading reply. There are in fact dozens of such events listed in a 48 page booklet of A5 size issued annually by Buses Magazine in the form of a Rally Guide, as well as the occasional heritage services run using classic heritage buses, e.g the wonderful services run by the Cumbria Classic Coaches company in the north-west of England.
Bus rallies happen right through the year in the UK, look in any bus preservation magazine and you'll see whole lists of them. We also have a whole industry not only using classic and vintage buses but making videos like these but selling DVD's too.
Hi there i'm an art student and i was wondering if i could use your video for some artwork which i'm basing on buses. I'm wanting to rotascope the buses going round
30 years of Badgerline so had one painted especially. There was a big event day before with preserved Badgerline vehicles and a few others done for the occasion. A few attended Brislington as part of the event
❤ love old buses vintage bus rally 🎉
I also attended this rally which held at Brislington Park and Ride
Holy Hogwarts! London has had those famous red buses but there was also a green line... and more. Wonderful to see them together.
These were based around the Bristol area the green ones

They did a splendid job with that Badgerline liveried B7RLE. Doesn't it look so much nicer than standard First livery.

Not in Bristol I mean
Why do we see so many recent model buses at so called vintage rallies?
Ian Sutton because so many ‘modern looking’ buses are at least 35 years old now. Atlanteans, Fleetlines, VR’s etc.
Super bro
