I can tell by the comments that people aren’t old enough to have watched this show when it was new, so they don’t know that the stories in this series usually have an unexpected surprise twist at the end. That means that the mother’s version of what the bad guy said - which she and the audience think will save her daughter - may very well produce the opposite outcome by mistake!

I had a meeting with my mom and her sister -- they came to my house and they talked about everything but what I was telling them and the temptation I was facing.. my husband had broken off with me 3 months before anything was even considered.. I begged my husband to reconnect and for us to work it out-- he was obsessed with other women and had numerous online affairs -- and work affairs. I'm sure he was telling them the same lies we women believe when we are being chased .. .. anyway.. after it happens my husband starts buying nice jewelry and a bible that was as big as a cement brick .. the blame was put on me .. and, I took responsibility for my actions -- and, had a complete nervous breakdown..that married man is NOT yours -- leave him be.
Edit: I also begged my husband to come back and work it out -- I flat out told him about how I was being chased like doe and I'd never had anyone put that kind of energy into wanting to hook up -- also saying things in front of the whole office that were lies to back up his story.. just to use me and have another nick in his belt .. John said he didn't care to do what I wanted (John/husband) -- so I called his bluff. It was never the same after that and I wouldn't let him touch me and became like a nun to pay for sins .
