- This is my new Chocolate Point Siamese kitten on her first day home. She was so tired but she was fighting to stay awake cause she was still scared of being away from her mommy cat and in a new home with me. Finally she just fell asleep all worn out lol. Cute!

I have always been SO jealous of kitten's ability to literally lay down and fall asleep in less than a second.
I mean, when your brain goes zoomies for too long, you'll immediately fall asleep too the moment you relax
for me it’s a battle between my million thoughts a second and “girl just go to sleep already”

As a siamese cat owner, I can confirm this is 100% true. My cat (Her name's Fifi btw) often says "Mama" and it startles me up everytime lol.

Pro tip for the other people (like me) who are seeing this ten years later: If you have a new kitten or puppy that's still anxious to sleep without their mother, get one of those old ticking alarm clocks (or anything that ticks steadily) and put it under their bedding. The ticking simulates a heartbeat and should calm them down enough to sleep.

That's great advice, fortunately most of my cats grew with the presence of their mommy, but it's so good to have new knowledge about how to help the babies to adapt
@@MissSweetie Its something my grandmother taught me. We tended to adopt our puppies from others rather than breed one generation after the other so this was her way to make sure the pups could sleep soundly. I think we only had one mother and she chose a corner in my room to give birth.

You can also get soft plush cats with battery operated "heartbeats" :) they're called Snuggle Kitty and they're designed for neonatal orphan kitten and puppy care, but they'd probably also be awesome for anxious older kittens.

I have a kitten that does this to me every time I walk into the room. None of his siblings do, but he does and won't stop until I pick him up. It's hilarious because he's only 5 weeks old. I'm not sure if it's because we have bonded because I had to temporarily feed him replacer milk and he associates me with eating. He's back to nursing but still looks up at me and screams until I give him the attention he wants. He likes to cuddle against my heart while his siblings climb all over me. The kittens had to stay in my room for a few nights. All the kittens except this one slept in a nice cozy cat bed and this guy slept on my cheek. ❤️

She's so cute. She reminded me of what my childhood pet looked like when we brought her home. She was 14 years with our family. Felt like a sister to me. She's been gone for two and a half years now and still I couldn't hold the tears thinking of her. I loved her and still do.

When I got my Siamese home for her first night, I did all the recommended things and kept her in 1 room where it was quiet so she wasn't intimidated, kept my distance and let her approach me rather than crowding her. She was quite calm but didn't want to go to sleep, she'd fight it standing up, eventually closing her eyes, then her head would drop as she fell asleep which would jolt her awake, and she's meow almost out of frustration. After a few hours she approached me of her own accord and realised it was safe and went to sleep close by. She's been an amazing cat for coming on 8 years now, she's friendly and affectionate with people.
I think how you first treat your kitten when you get them home is very important for their long term disposition towards you and other people.

My girlfriend's friend has an eight year old Siamese cat named Lemon (as in the citrus fruit), who is very affectionate, from what I've seen from the video footage which my gf recorded on her cell phone of this adorable female Siamese cat.
My family had the sweetest little Siamese girl when I was a child and after she passed away they got a couple more. l have two Siamese now, and except for college and a few years after graduating I have always had Meezers. When I first met my husband he decided that his "dog days" were over and he needed a cat too. We both agree: Life is pretty colorless and dull without cats, especially Siamese cats!

Yes she did, she never leaves my side now! Ever since that first night home she has climbed up on my bed and has slept on my pillow every night, but now she is an adult full sized cat so she takes up most of the room on my pillow, or should I say OUR pillow LOL! If I'm lucky she leaves me a little bit of room on one of the pillow's bottom corners :P ha ha!
