For anyone who can't get this to work on your fire kindle 10 or above make sure the USB plug can transfer files then on the tablet go to settings, type in USB preference and click it, once there make sure all options arent grayed out, that's how you know if the USB plug can transfer files or not then click on the transfer files option then plug the tablet into the PC, should get a notification to open the spacedesk app.
@@medogaming1533 Can't get it to charge while using USB as most usb ports aren't designed for high power devices, ended up using a normal plug and wifi instead of usb connecting. works fairly well through wifi anyway. Would prefer usb but can't get it to charge :/
Thanks a ton! I'm just getting started streaming retro games, and I have a wire rack with all my old consoles set up. Last night was a pain, having to crane my neck to the side to see my twitch chat on my pc monitor. Now I can have my tablet right in front of me and see my chatters way easier
God oh god THANK YOU. I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do it without wifi (because my laptop can't connect to wifi) and finally your video helped me It works so perfectly and with high quality too
Thank you for this! I was looking into purchasing laptop monitors on amazon, and then the price scared me. Googled if you could use a tablet as a second screen, and lo and behold, I find this video. Installed that app, tested it and it works via wifi as well!!! This is truly a gamechanger! Kind regards from Portugal 🙂
Had to temporarily move out of my office leaving my multiple screen set-up behind. Am using the kitchen table with jusy my laptop, and so found this video. Luckily you had the exact same tablet as me, so I watched. Easy to follow steps, and had my dual screen set-up back in no time. It's obviously not the best, using a smaller tablet screen, however, I think it will be much more appreciated when I'm out on the road, and have to dive into an eatery with wifi to get some work done. 5🌟
Thank you Sam, I was able to achieve what I wanted, which was to use my galaxy tab 6 lite for photoshop. Apparently samsung removed the "second screen" feature for my model.
Thank you so much. If you guys have a problem like 2nd monitor gives responses slowly, its probably cuz of slow data transfer of your usb cable. I am just having the same problem but still it works fine. For a smooth performans i am gonna buy a new usb cable which supports faster data transfer. If u buy too, just be careful, its not about ampere but also transfer speed.
This is so helpful!!! Thank you so much for making this video. I have wanted a 3rd screen but didn't have the space for a whole new monitor. using my tablet is going to help so much!!!
Also, please note this. I have the Local Area Network ticked and it connected right away. i also have it plugged into my 3.0 USB port and have Bluetooth paired as well. Most current PCs and Laptops have Blue Tooth with up to 3.0 UBB or higher and it works fantastic.
Triod to do this with USB but before connecting the cable I could already see my PC's ip and connect. Thanks thought. PC is connected via cable and tablet is wifi. Working great
Thank you for this amazing tutorial Sam, you're a lifesaver. 😄Only if you know how helpful this is for some of us. Your out-of-the-box thinking and unique perspective turned an otherwise mediocre presentation into a fantastic one Mcraespy. You did a good job of catching the mistakes and keeping us from wasting time and by taking the wrong path. Your attention to detail really sets you apart from the crowd. Great work! Sir Greg, Your great work has resulted in tangible, beneficial results to me. You’re a force to be reckoned.
Awesome video! Is it possible to use a USBC to USBC cable with Spacedesk? *Edit: Turns out you can and it's awesome! Thank you so much for the great video :)
thank you for the video. My question is I don't seem to get a full screen, the black bars on both ends of my pad screen doesn't show full screen? Suggestions?
Worked really nicely both over WiFi and cable but my remote desktop connection window wouldn't stretch across both displays so looking for an alternative now.
Hello, very nice and clear tutorial, works like a charm, but.... i want to use the tablet to manage my spotify while im playing my truck sim, but if i want to adjust the volume or skip to next song my game minimize, making my truck to crash 😞 note: i use usb, not wifi
Hi, great video, I think I'm gonna use this as well :) But I have one concern: Is the tablet using it's own graphic card to display the image or is it using PC's GPU? Cause if I'm not mistaken (and if I am then correct me please 😅) running 2 different resolutions on 2 different monitors is additional load for GPU, which I'd rather like to avoid.
this was very helpful so thanks a lot, however when checking the resolution settings the phone screen doesn't appear as an individual monitor, and when switching to second monitor only the resolution is set to 1024x768 with no option to change, would be cool to find a solution for this! and thanks again
hi I see you have a samsung tablet by looking closely correct if I am wrong you can use it as a second monitor wireless ly by going on screenshare pressing the 3 dots at top right and settings then about screen share and tap it several times till another screen pops up then press start 2nd screen and press windows k on keyboard and click the tablets name and there u go
This is a nice method, although there is a second screen option on the galaxy tab, but unfortunately it was removed in oneui 5.1.1 so this is a great alternative.
Thanks for the video. Would it be possible to transfer a file onto the tablet and use its stylus to make some changes to the file and then save it back to the computer? Say, signing a PDF file?
Thanks for the tutorial, worked perfectly. Now i am just concerned that this tool, as it is from a tiers company is able to record what we are doing, what we are typing like password etc...I don't feel...SAFE, using it ^^ It's maybe just in my head but nowadays, every vicious plan is possible
This is a great video. I do have one question. My desktop has no webcam, I usually use the tab to most zoom meetings. Will I be able to do use the tab for zoom? Can I also share screen from the desktop?
Hey, are you aware of any sort of monitor arm type thing but for mobile devices/smaller displays? I'd really like to bring the display higher up and closer to my face but don't have a way too currently
Hey, yeah there are heaps to pick from on Amazon. I haven't personally used one but just search Tablet Desk Arm on Amazon. Here is one that had good reviews amzn.to/3tBMsCG

Thank you, so much! A lot of videos didn't teach how to do this with an USB cable!
Glad I could help!

FANTASTIC VIDEO, I WAS USING THE WIRELESS CONNECTION AND IT WAS VERY VERY CHOPPY, THIS WORK MUCH BETTER!!!
Thank you so much!! I have an old lenovo tab. Its now a second monitor for me. Almost no lag.
It works wondrous. Thank you so much. You just saved me from buying a third monitor.
Thanks, this is literally the thing ive been looking for for years.

Brilliant, just set my old tablet up as a system monitor.. Thank you very much..
Did it on my phone. It worked! thank you for the tutorial

Cheers, easy to understand and enabled me to use an android tablet to use as a discord display while gaming

This is the best tutorial for sure, thanks a lot.
Worked in less than 5 minutes. Thank you so much
Perfect. Works better than Duet which kept dropping off.
This works extremely well even though it can only output 60fps max on my tablet that has a display panel with 120hz refresh rate.
does it work with other tablets? as long as it can download space desk?
Yep, it should work on any android as long as you can install the app from the play store on it.
This is a result of the speed of the cable
@@owenstockwell4807does that mean with a propper cable it will be able to do higher frame rate?
Great guide! I'm so pleased this is an option! Thank you so much :)
You're so welcome!
That was a great demonstration, Ms.

you can probably improve the size of the stuff on the tablet by changing the resolution on windows monitor
thank you for the video. My question is I don't seem to get a full screen, the black bars on both ends of my pad screen doesn't show full screen? Suggestions?

It should still be there. Check under connections. Or check the quick icons. I still have it on my s8 ultra ajd s9plus
Thank you very much for the help!
You're welcome!
thankyou! great video!
Does it lag?
Yes a bit. But for creative tasks the touch works just fine.
Very Helpful Thanks
Hi, what is the name of the android tablet you are using in this video, great video btw,
Hey! It's the Samsung galaxy Tab S6. 😊
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Helpfull video ❤
Hi, tank u for sharing. How many tablets can u connect that way?
YOU SAVED ME.
Thanks for the video. Would it be possible to transfer a file onto the tablet and use its stylus to make some changes to the file and then save it back to the computer? Say, signing a PDF file?
You are a life saver❤❤
Great video!
Bro how cN I get my phone to transfer files now, it just keeps using it as second screen every time I connect.
Disable usb driver from spacedesk console.
Thanks for the tutorial, worked perfectly. Now i am just concerned that this tool, as it is from a tiers company is able to record what we are doing, what we are typing like password etc...I don't feel...SAFE, using it ^^ It's maybe just in my head but nowadays, every vicious plan is possible

does it only support 30hz? while my tablet supports 90hz
Sorry it does supports 60hz. Just need to make an adjustment on the setting.
Unusable on USB 2, because it has horrible lag. Tuning Performance settings cannot fix it.
Get a better cable.
