So let me get this straight: A bunch of people brought their KIDS to a BEER FESTIVAL, left them alone to play in someone else's private yard, and just went back to drinking? And were presumably going to drive home? Lovely.
When I went to a beer festival I walked home. Although I literally only remember like half of it, I remember leaving, walking for a while, and I remember waking up in bed, everything else is a total blank XD
@@PaladinGear15 You probably passed out and someone drove you home. Could have been police, could have been friends, could have even been your family.
Actually, I do carry two smartphones, on different service providers. I am old, disabled, housebound and live alone, cannot drive. My phone is my only connection to the outside world. Several times, one phone has failed or the service was down, having the second phone was critical.
Yes because guaranteed OP’s car had damage to the side panel where the other car hit her and the only damage to the other car if any would have been on the front. Someone want to tell me how she hit the other car with her side panel? These kinds of accidents are obvious who is at fault and I had the same kind of accident years ago; a driver tried to turn right from the left lane and hit me as a result. That officer was an idiot.
Accident vs money story: Another idea would be to start recording on your cell phone. Even if it's a two-party consent state, just the act of recording will make them think twice about harassing you. Funeral story: What is with some people? Not all of us own formal wear. IMO as long as you show up as neat and clean as possible, you're good.
Also, gray is perfectly acceptable mourning attire. I could kind of see someone being upset if they were dressed in flashy colors, but even though they wore regular clothing, they made the effort to find appropriate garments for the funeral.
Two-party consent does NOT apply to PUBLIC property, which includes the street or your own property. It only applies to phone recordings and private meetings behind a closed door. And before you say it does then think about such things as dashcams, then they wouldnt be able to be used in a two-party consent state.
Yes, I was also thinking OP should have recorded ED/ES screaming at her and offering money to leave the scene of an accident. As for the funeral, I attended one recently and people wore wildly varying outfits. Older people tended to be a bit more formal and conservative but it really was all over the map. Also, why would you police entry into a FUNERAL? There's nothing to be gained by it.
for years this is why my parents told me and my siblings why we couldnt have a play structure in the front yard cuz other kids would play on it and if one got hurt the parents could sue mine....
We were very blessed to have awesome neighbors as friends. Their children came over to play as much as mine went to their houses and yards to play as well. We also had a playground, ball fields, a dog park as well as walking trails 5 minutes walking distance from our house. So when my children were ages 5 and up, they had a great group of friends to play with and the parents were mostly decent. I miss my whine with wine nights with my friends! This is when I lived in Oldsmar, Florida. We moved to Tennessee about 10 years ago.
This is funny, because she has that "kids today have no respect for their elders" to a person works in a profession that their generation had for the longest time, not many people go to the library anymore, back in the boomer age, people went to the library for, everything related to studies, exams and college courses all information was on pen, paper, and cover, now that we have internet, you don't need all that, but few people still go to the library to study with their laptop, borrow movies fantasy books, romance novels, and the modern age of capitalism wants to get rid of that
@@Josh_the_jester My library is still pretty busy. There is nothing like a tangible book in your hands to flip through. Also, with the death of video rental stores, a library is a good place to grab dvds that you don't want to spend 20 bucks for at walmart. The library also offers internet and job searching resources, afterschool programs, and other social events. If anything, my library is getting more business now than it did a decade ago.
@@meh2510 My local library is booming too. We just won the fight against the fascist cult moms for liberty, and they weren’t able to remove one single book or media from the library. They also lost every school board race out of 13 races. We have to fight hard to stomp out fascism.
@@lynnw7155 Does the story have anything to suggest that it took place in the USA, because in many other countries including Canada, the legal drinking age is 19 or lower.
It wasn't her joining in the game, It was her thoughtless brother, however if the boyfriend couldn't forgive her regretted indiscretion, he is a nono prospect for a lasting relationship.
Story about the car accident; I would have taken the official state police report on the accident to the city police department and shown it to the cop who said, "Drive more responsibility"
Cops often blame the younger driver inappropriately. I was once hit by some dude years ago...and the cop believed his lies and gave me a ticket...but dude ended up losing his insurance because we happened to have the same insurance company so we had the same adjuster....the guy took one look at my car and said this doesn't match what was on the police report at all....I said yeah, I know, cuz dude lied to the cops...he said That's obvious, cuz damage like this can only occur when you are the one who is hit. There was circular rubber marks driving up the side of my car.
Climbing Frame story: As soon as OP talked about the kids coming onto his property to play on the climbing frame, my first thought was "Do you really want to get sued? Block it off or take it down!"
If it has rusted to the point where OP and his friend can break it apart easily, it is time for it go before it breaks from the weight of the kids and OP faces a lawsuit.
It always astounds me that people in these stories seem to have their backyards easy to get into. What the heck? I live in a save neighbourhood and our backyard is not easy to see into or enter.
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruises Here's the thing, not everyone can afford to fence off their property, and not everyone owns their own property. Example A) my mom and I rent because we can't afford to buy a home (we're disabled, there's no chance of even saving) and example B) my dad, who owns his own, has so much land AND a forest on his land, he can't fence all of that off, let alone even if he could, not easily or cheaply.
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruisesbecause most assume that people will read the numerous sign’s saying private property and obey them like decent people but sadly that isn’t the case
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruisesmost people won’t put too much thought into security when they live in a safe area, since there are rarely any issues where they live. It is good that you have your backyard secured, but if break-ins aren’t common around them, people might tend to neglect doing that.
Over a year ago, someone pulled out in front of me, to make a left across the lane. She lied and told police that I rear ended her, but thankfully we were in front of a car rental place, and they had cameras.
Story 5 is just an example of hiding secrets causing problems. If the fiancé had been told about the teenage cheating in the first place, he may have been able to keep the relationship going. Finding something like that out from a drinking game instead of early in the relationship was the largest issue. It's likely the brother knew about the problems the fiancé had with cheating and assumed he'd already been told and the problem was sorted out.
I agree, honestly. As for the "It was a mistake," thing... That's literally what every cheater says, it's always a mistake. She might make another 'mistake' when she's 30. Plus, if it really wasn't a big deal, she shouldn't have made the effort to hide it from him. It probably made him feel stupid or at least disrespected that her friends and family knew about the cheating but not him, specifically because OP knew he wouldn't like to hear about it.
@@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917 It's possible that it wasn't a malicious decision to hide something, and more so a case of it being so far in the past that it barely matters anymore. What someone does as a teenager doesn't define them. Youthful selfishness is not genuine malice.
The OP and friend worked for the woman in her home for 6 *years*. and this is the first time the entitled couple has met them? Sounds like we know who *really* doesn’t belong at the funeral.
First story sounds like it's in my hometown since the police station is diagonally across the street from the library. Holy shit Karens have invaded my hometown
Growing up my library used to be right across from the police station. But the library was small and the population in the area like double so they built a larger one across from the high school
some cultures provide a meal afterwards so yes there are people who would crash the actual funeral or come paid respects during the mourning time before because there are food
Story 4: Geez, what embarrassments those two are. Also, good luck trying to frame OP's friend for destruction of property since everyone was watching that. Let everyone mourn and pay for respects, it doesn't matter if they don't wear something fancy.
Rules like the one at the library in story 1 exist in MANY places for a reason! I one time had a coworker forget this rule and call me out from the back only for me to end up face to face with my emotionally unstable uncle, who had been *banned* from the store a week prior because he had come in with my other uncle screaming their heads off about how they were "hiding" me and how I needed to re-establish contact with my abusive parents because it was my grandfather's "dying wish" (I later found out he was in perfectly good health. Lived for many years after this story). I had to call my manager from the back to escort him off the property and had to have someone drive me home and escort me to my apartment door later. If a person WANTS to be found or contacted, they can do so themselves. No employee should ever give out private information on a guest or employee to someone who they cannot verify is safe.
I’m really sorry that happened to you, I hope you’re forgetful coworker fired on the spot for not only putting you in danger but forgetting that this unstable individual was banned there (if not from another place). Hopefully you have a restraining order against your abusers since they keep trying to harass you.
@mburg33 unfortunately no this place was consistently so short staffed due to poor work conditions and cheap management that i only ever saw one person get fired in the 4 years i worked there. As for my family, they no longer know where I live and my job is a locked building that isnt open to the public, so they have not been able to find me or reach me since that day.
People don't seem to understand basic safety. I get randos calling all the time asking for info on my guys and I tell them it's against policy to give out any personal information and some of them are miffed like I'm doing this on purpose to spite them. There's one particular nasty piece of work that, if she calls, I deny my guy is even there, then give him the heads up and if his work is done for the day, let him sign out early in case this bitch shows up trying to start something. On the flip side I had one of my guys mad at me that I didn't let his girlfriend come onto the property to put balloons in his car to surprise him. 🙄 Are you fucking kidding me dude? I don't know this lady from Adam and I'm supposed to let her into your car and do God knows what?! Knowing about the other psycho?
Story 3: I've seen a number of people not use turn signals while changing lanes while driving highways like the interstate, and that's just a recipe for disaster. Just use the pecking turn signal, how hard is that? Also, yeah I definitely know they would lie about a hit-and-run.
My turn signals aren't working. The part I need is on back order. So I avoid busy roads. There's just one major road I'll drive on. Basically I try to plan my driving so that if I have to make a left, there's a turn lane. I'll use hand signals and have a blinking light I hold out the window when I'm making a left, but try to avoid it.
True story of a woman who was travelling. She ended up at a funeral home needing to use their restroom. There was a funeral with no mourners. She felt bad for the deceased man and she signed the guest book and sat down for a little bit. It turns out that the deceased man was wealthy. She ended up getting his entire estate just because she was there. His family were greedy POS kind of people. Revenge from the grave.
I know it's probably not true, but maybe he knew his family were greedy POS and wrote in his will to divide up his entire estate equally to everyone that bothered to show up and if nobody did to donate everything to charity
As a former Security Guard I applaud the librarian 👏👏👏 Absolutely amazing. My response may seem silly but as someone who has been trained in mob scenarios and much harsher happenings this situation could have ended with an Amber alert and if the librarian hadn't followed procedures she could have been at fault for letting ot happen. Great that she followed procedures and great that the little girl didn't get kidnapped by her druggy mother. The mother needs help and I hope she gets it.
I've only ever had 1 suit in my life and it was a tuxedo I rented for my high school graduation. Otherwise...my idea of "nice/formal" clothing are some neat pressed jeans and a plain long sleeve button down shirt. And most of the churches I've gone too have been a bit more laid back and are of the mind that they are just happy to have you show up as long as you are moderately dressed.
Story 1: So like…could you imagine being a police officer and getting that call from Karen? “Help Police? Yes the library has kidnapped my daughter and is holding her hostage”. I wonder how many cops thought that that was a prank call😂
Story 2, I'm not surprised that Karen believed that the wife would help her only to get upset when that didn't happen. Nor that she, stupidly, tried to threaten op with cops only to insult op's friend when she got called out with actual logic. Plus it's so typical that Karen had to get the last word so she insults op's wife for not siding with her. Nor surprised that she refused to back down and apologize such typical Karen behavior. Bet she never stepped on op's property after that but still gives op and his wife nasty looks.
The Funeral Bit---i mean Karen, has no thinking capabilities. I mean she literally has a bunch of witnesses around who are now siding with friend and she thinks slapping him is a good idea?? Like you dont even need critical thinking skills to know thats a dumb move
As a parent and now grandparent, I have always appreciated when people have my child's anonymity and safety in mind. It might be inconvenient, but it's a relief to know I'm not the only one thinking of the safety of people, particularly kids.
The last story, It is possible that Op's fiance believes the old saying " once a cheater, always a cheater" and he doesn't want to be with someone that could do that at all, and he has every right to make that choice
I think it's because she hid it all this time. He told her about how he hates cheaters, and she doesn't feel the need to say she messed up once, but learned from that? That's kinda a hefty secret.
@@kellebrimbor7616 yes, if she had talked to him about it, he may have taken a chance to see if she has learned from it. Though probably not, as it will always put trust into question, did she really learn? I understand she didn't want to risk losing him ( look how that worked out) , but now he would feel like he doesn't know who Op really is or what else is she hiding
I agree with all of these. The the fact that she didnt say this to him when he told her how he was cheated on makes it an even bigger deal. Because she knew his values and wasn't honest with him. To me if you are telling someone you value faithfulness and wont tolerate cheating then you know they will leave if you hid and lied to them for years. The only assholes in this story is the brother for dragging it up and OP for lying to her ex for literal years. God, I hate people who do that.
Facts are 1. Once a cheater always a cheater is false. 2. Because it was a big deal to him she should have been open sooner. 3. Brother is not an ahole. And she played the game and if someone knows, they are supposed to call out

For the funeral story: I was soooo hoping that the lady left her gardener "grandsons" a bunch of money and they showed up to the will reading making karen choke on her words when she saw them there. Oh and for her to have been excluded from the will😊
Fluff, you are correct in saying that no one crashes a funeral. But Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson sure did crash a few weddings. If you have not seen the movie "Wedding Crashers," do so. It is fricken hilarious.
I looked up no insurance on vehicles in my area. The fine is a minimum of $2500 to a maximum of $10000. That's only 1st offense. 2nd offense is $5000-$20000 plus some time without a license and possibly freedom. Canada does not mess around when it comes to privileges. It's always a great bit of fun when SovCits visit Canada. They get what's coming to them.

I totally respect and praise those librarians. More often than not this policy saves lives. Libraries are a haven of information, and knowledge is power. Libraries are about entertainment, discovery, academic and deeper knowledge of a subject, and a quiet space for studying. But occasionally they are a refuge, and a source of protection, both practical and legal. A librarian saved my life. But also, on a lighter note, if you need to study without distractions or interruptions, the library is the perfect spot. I only once needed to contact urgently - and the best I could do was “if you see [son’s name], please tell him to call home urgently”.
Story 4: whenever i hear about people getting slapped by karens I have ( my family have this nerve reaction ) a reaction to cold clock them , my grandmother was slapped and she cold clocked the woman so hard after she assaulted her into a coma that lasted for 3 days because this woman was assaulting my cousins who were visiting who were visiting because her bratty son wanted them to play with him and they were playing with us
Last story, brother is NTA at all. Its not like he was bringing it up to be mean or anything. They were literally playing a game, he noticed siater wasnt following the rules so brought it up. Plus he was drinking so its not like he was using his head that well. I get OP is upset but her anger shouldnt be with her brother. This happened because of her past decisions, but even more so because her fiance needs to grow up and move past something that happened 10 years ago before they even met. No one is the same person 10 years apart. If he doesnt realize that, OP dodged a bullet
When I was a teacher we sometimes had kids from a local women’s shelter. We well understood the importance of not giving out information or releasing a child to anyone we didn’t know to be authorized.
story ONE My parants knew that if I wasn't home (or school etc) that I was at the library. they never asked if i was there, Mom would tell me to go home (likely I forgot to go eat) story TWO 10:48 actually, Karen's "precious" devil is likely only child who would get hurt since most parents teach kids to be respectful of others
Like story 1, I work in a place where we can’t say if someone is there or not. I work at a hotel and omg I’ve been yelled and cussed at and I’m thinking. “I can see why the person is hiding from you”
The person with the climbing frame needs to fence his property off, then complain to the ski club about the damage done to their property by the members of the club. The liability of drunken people wandering around on private property and possibly getting injured is too big a chance to take.
story 4 : i would have said to karen "can YOU prove you knew her?" because with how she was acting even after they proved it, it seems a lot like she was projecting, like SHE was the one who didnt really know her
Regarding the last story - I totally understand the boyfriend. If she knew that he is so against cheeting - I assume that they talked about it. And I also assume that if he was so shocked, she must have told him something like: "I would never!". So it might have been the case of breaking the trust in current relationship, not only the mistake done 10 years ago.
Story 3: Always drive with your doors locked. Always call the police for a traffic collision. Always...ALWAYS have a dashcam...it's the witness that doesn't blink.
Insurance story. We had a guy hit us then try to just pay out of pocket. I stuck to my guns and got all his information, got the quote and then contacted him. I told him outright that his premium increase would be less than the total payout - which was true. Turns out we had the same provider, and we didn't have to fight, the provider dinged him, fixed our vehicle and waived our deductible cause it was his fault. What really sucked though was our vehicle was only a month old.
Story 2 - You come onto my property like that Karen, then it's called a garden house being turned onto them. Let them call the police, however the police will laugh them out of town so fast it isnt funny.
Story 3 : I would have taken money and still call the cops and pursue legal actions and if they prove i have taken money from them then i would just give it back to them
Ha ha, I had someone hit me on the road in the exact same way; tried to turn right from the left hand lane and turned into me. I was in the middle “straight” lane. My car was brand new at the time and I hadn’t even made the first payment yet. And it was a hit and run but some nice ladies who witnessed the accident got his license plate number thankfully.
Story 3 - i had that happen to me with BOTH of my now ex-wives and the only thing i did was file for divorce(got screwed royally both times because of biased judges)
Fluff, there are people who crash funerals. I went to a grief support group after losing my husband. There was a woman there that said she would go to funerals of people she didn't know if it was a big funeral and they were serving lunch and/or drinks. I thought that was horrible. I've been to several viewings and at least 1 funeral for someone I didn't know. But I knew a family member. So I went to support them.
For that last story, some were saying that it was a mistake from a decade ago but I believe it had more to do with her not being up front about it even after they got engaged. She knew that topic was important to him and still decided not to inform him probably making him feel betrayed again. I do think all of them had fault in that story tho.
It would have made sense to share that with him BEFORE getting engaged. BUT I also believe his reaction was WAY over the top. I do think it matters that OP was a teenager AND that it was a decade ago. Frankly, I think OP is better off without the fiance. He should probably seek some professional help.
@@fdm2155I think he was the least assholish person in the story, OP knowingly lied to him through omission for years knowing how he feels about cheating. He has boundaries and stuck too them something OP ignored entirely.
@@fdm2155 He was the only normal person in this whole situation. By lying to him for that long it's perfectly logical to leave her. She KNEW he had issues with cheating, when HE told HER about that, SHE should have told HIM about her past cheating. By not doing so she was showing she had no respect for him at all.
Story 3, yep never take a bargain that includes the incident being unreported. Story 5. I'd say something is missing, and the fiancé can be the least bit of an ahole in the story. We are likely missing important bits since how does she know how against cheating he is if this was not a matter of discussion before where she chose to conceal the fact? If she had just been honest early on then either the relationship had not progressed as far or the more likely scenario would have been that he knew and it was just a matter of never doing it again. Keep in mind that someone who cheats on one person will cheat again, that's a fairly iron clad rule that a person must work to negate for the rest of their life. If your SO knows that you've cheated at least, they can deal with it. Now you know that someone who is more likely to cheat again also concealed this from you. What else related was concealed?
Last story: That fiancee is the one that dodged a bullet. OP knows enough that they have clearly had talks about this, probably at least one where she assured him she'd never cheated/didn't believe in it or w/e. If she lied to him, for the length of time it took them to end up engaged? Then yeah. OP is the ah.
100% this. If she had told him at the time he told her about his past troubles and he accepted her still, then it would not have been an issue in the drinking game. Instead she lied either to his face, or by omission, for a long time and proved she had no respect for him as a person.
100%. Past actions demonstrate future intentions. The fiancee would never be able to trust her, she has cheated in her past and she did not tell him knowing how he felt about it, either by lying or omission. Drunken brother did not ruin her relationship, she did!
14:19 I thought it was going to end up “the police looked at the camera footage and saw what really happened.” Seems like the perfect place for cameras
Dash cams can really save you.. My husband was behind a lady at a stop light: the light changes she takes off real fast then slams on her brakes, he hit her.. They lady had another accident only 3 weeks before in the exact same fashion.. Cop told my husband he believed him but without dash cam proof there was nothing he could do.. My husband got a dash cam after that..
Oh people do crash funerals. There's one of those "So-and-so answers questions from Twitter" videos on RUclips and they got a funeral director on there, he knew someone who crashes funerals all the time. Just shows up and eats their food. He was laughing about it but if anyone did that at my grandma's funeral I might also get sent to jail for assault. It's so beyond disrespectful imo. It's been mentioned in a TV show here and there. I can think of at least one but I can't remember for the life of me which one. It was like some crazy couple meets at this funeral and they both ask each other how'd you know the deceased and they both answer I didn't, crashing funerals just makes me feel better.
You don’t need a dash cam for that kind of accident. The front portion of the car at fault hit the side panel of the other car and that can be CLEARLY seen by the damage and that’s why it turned out the way it did. The cop who told her to drive responsibly was a a-hole.
So about the drinking one, she lied about not cheating and her brother called her out. It is her fault in the first place, kicking her brother out because of her stupidity is dumb.
Climbing Frame Story: OP was foolish to allow ANY kid to play on the frame due to the Liability issues... This is also why if you live beside a Club (Golf, Ski etc.), Public Park or some kind of business that host a lot of people, you need to have a tall, sturdy fence (plastered with NO TRESPASSING and PRIVATE PROPERTY signs) on the Property Line... If there is no fence (or it's too short to keep people out), then EVERY TIME you see a Trespasser, you Politely tell them once to leave and if they argue or refuse to leave, then you call the Police to have them Arrested for Trespassing...
with the last story I would have said the only ah was the fiance but since OP decided to kick her own brother out because of his reaction then she sneaks ahead
"* don't think people crash funerals!" Ever see the movie Wedding Crashers? OK, that's an extreme example, but in general people at a funeral are there to mourn, and unless it's explicitly closed off then just let people mourn.
I bet that Karen and her husband were only there to see if they would get something in the will, and how they acted showed they didn’t care for op’s kind boss. The only person that should leave the funeral is Karen and her Kevin husband.
I worked in the city library for nineteen years, not for the library but in the cafe. Before some renovated areas reopened the director got EVERYBODY together for a talk. "We will see a lot more stramge people. It's warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and centrally located on a bus line." I recall a guy fouling a chair. One dude passed out drunk from mouthwash of all things. In the cafe we had one guy tell our boss he KNEW the boss worked for the CIA and was spying on him, and a lady who said Buddha had been on the ceiling of her bedroom, shooting laser beams at her, then came down and made love to her.
Last story, dude was right to break it off. I've been cheated on and I can tell you once a cheater, always a cheater. It only gets easier after they've done it once
Incorrect. Plenty of people make that kind of mistake once and learn from it. Cheating isn’t meth. You don’t get hooked on it and are now incapable of not cheating.
It isn’t dumb teenage mistake! Hunter has every right to dump his girlfriend, because she didn’t even told her boyfriend anything! Women think is no big deal, but it is. It just shows us, you’re not interested in committing to a relationship. Also op is the jerk about this, because women number one thing that they don’t do is accountability! This is what the post about, not taking responsibility for her actions. I believe if op was honest in the beginning of the relationship, her boyfriend wouldn’t have dumped her. Listen ladies take responsibility, accountability and respect yourself and partner! Because you don’t, men will leave you like op boyfriend.
I was in a parking lot in a government vehicle (I was an Army recruiter at the time, and a coworker was with me) when a lady backed up and hit the car. It wasn't even running. She immediately tried to convince us to take money and not report it. Not that I would do that anyway, but I literally COULD NOT. It's a government vehicle. I'm signed for it. You hit it. I have to report it. She kept trying to convince us to not get the police involved until they showed up.

OP here is a girl, so I suspect sexism.
Sounds like a typical police officer.
Depending on what year this place, there may not have been cell phones.
Always record, even if it is a 2 part consent state, because judges can still view or even allow the video if they choose to.
The second story demonstrates that you can’t simply allow anyone to use your private property because you instantly assume liability for any injuries.
Unfortunately one ruined it for all.
Awesome response Tracy81258. I like it
Except for the whole private property part........
for years this is why my parents told me and my siblings why we couldnt have a play structure in the front yard cuz other kids would play on it and if one got hurt the parents could sue mine....
Story 1: There is a reason why the daughter is putting the effort to avoid the crazy mom antics.
There is a reason why the library cannot confirm or deny the presence of a specific child, and that crazy unfit mother knew it.

My local library is booming too. We just won the fight against the fascist cult moms for liberty, and they weren’t able to remove one single book or media from the library. They also lost every school board race out of 13 races. We have to fight hard to stomp out fascism.
Last story. If you have skeletons in your closet, don't do drinking games.
To me the biggest mistake is letting a bunch of underage kids have a drinking party in your house. If the cops showed up, guess who gets the blame?
@@lynnw7155 Yes. Absolutely correct. But if they didn't let them, they might have done it in secret anyway. Don't know which is worse to be honest.
@1toshi32 but that’s where my faux skeletons sleep (they seem to like where it’s nice and dark)
Story about the car accident; I would have taken the official state police report on the accident to the city police department and shown it to the cop who said, "Drive more responsibility"
Yes! They just assumed it was their fault. Unprofessional
Don't worry. State Patrol covered that. Had to send a report since a city cop did show.
Good, I hope that officer was embarrassed.
I hope you fought the ticket.
Story three: this is why dashcams are so valuable.
So the one with the funeral I would laugh like hell if the boss left everything to OP and his friend and her family didn't get anything 😂.
And she'd leave a message in the will: Sorry Karen, but I'm not leaving my money to stuck up snobs like you
Story 5 is just an example of hiding secrets causing problems.
Or the fiance might have wanted to break off the relationship and this revelation allowed him to break it off AND be the victim.
How much you wanna bet that karen and her husband at the funeral were just there for money.
I would agree that it is a possibility.
Funerals have nothing to do with wills, etc. At best, there may be some food served afterwards.
The OP and friend worked for the woman in her home for 6 *years*. and this is the first time the entitled couple has met them?
Sounds like we know who *really* doesn’t belong at the funeral.
@mbyerly9680 I know. However still could have been someone looking to control everything and looking for money.
I bet it was even simpler. Karen couldn't stand that such 'peasants' were there at the funeral.
First story sounds like it's in my hometown since the police station is diagonally across the street from the library. Holy shit Karens have invaded my hometown
You talking about downtown Chula Vista?
@@markreyes7454 who me? No
Growing up my library used to be right across from the police station. But the library was small and the population in the area like double so they built a larger one across from the high school
Yeah, and the PD to my hometown was two blocks away from the library. It's a common thing for small towns.
My library is literally down the street from the court house and fire department and about a block from the police station
Story #4: People absolutely do crash funerals. Thing is though, that it's a family member most of the time. As this story just proved.
some cultures provide a meal afterwards so yes there are people who would crash the actual funeral or come paid respects during the mourning time before because there are food
Story 4: Geez, what embarrassments those two are. Also, good luck trying to frame OP's friend for destruction of property since everyone was watching that.
Let everyone mourn and pay for respects, it doesn't matter if they don't wear something fancy.
Karen would be the one at fault
Karen would be the one at fault
Karen would be the one at fault
Karen would be the one at fault
Karen would be the one at fault
@@LilChuunosuke at least now you are at a safe location now
People don't seem to understand basic safety.
First story: that’s a very wise policy for that library to have, it protected a child from her obviously unfit mother.
Story 2 - that is the perfect reason for putting up an 8’ high fence with LARGE NO TRESPASSING SIGNS on the fence
Doesn't matter, those kind of people don't read signs and will find a way in. It does help you to have proof though.
That's both amazing and pitiful. Hope she made good use of that money.
I heard this story decades ago from a book of urban legends.
Source?
True story? That's not how estates work. It's a bad movie script. The legend has been around for over half a century. Nice try though.
That last story... This is why "I Never" is a bad drinking game and nobody should play it.
Hello Fluffies!!!! I hope everyone is having a very fluffy day
It’s hard to believe there are more entitled people than my sisters. They aren’t a whole lot more entitled though.
Ok I'll bite, how so?
I grew up in farm country. Formal denim is real, and definitely acceptable for funerals and other church services.
I wear jeans to church most Sundays.
I showed up in a dress once and almost gave everyone a heart attack. 😅
Also not everyone owns business attire/formal clothes. So long as they were clean, neat, relatively modest... what's the problem?
I've only ever had 1 suit in my life and it was a tuxedo I rented for my high school graduation. Otherwise...my idea of "nice/formal" clothing are some neat pressed jeans and a plain long sleeve button down shirt. And most of the churches I've gone too have been a bit more laid back and are of the mind that they are just happy to have you show up as long as you are moderately dressed.
Story 2 - OP’s wife was bad ass in dealing with that Karen.
Woahhhh!! Her insurance didn’t go up??? I call BS! My sister got rear ended and hers went up!
Story 1: So like…could you imagine being a police officer and getting that call from Karen? “Help Police? Yes the library has kidnapped my daughter and is holding her hostage”.
I wonder how many cops thought that that was a prank call😂
6 didn't considering 3 cars. but she was foolish to that because she lost her rights and those police had to detain her for a possible arrest
I am LOVING the falling snow and chimney smoke... it's very relaxing while listening to the nonsense people get up to! 😂
Re: Story 1
By the end of it, OP be like: "And this is why we have this policy. Case in point, I rest my case."
There's more to the last story. Clearly they discussed cheating and she obviously lied about her past. The fiancee left because of the dishonesty
Yup. Her and her lies ruined their marriage, no one else.
I was going to say the same thing.
I love that the wife who was “better at handling the situation” opened the window and started screaming at the Karen. Amazing.

Story 3: Glad OP didn't take the check cause the entitled dad would have immediately canceled the check as soon as OP left or was bouncing the check.

Final Story - This is why I hate the game ‘Never have I ever’ cause it starts out harmless fun then it gets personal and it ends up hurting someone.
Cheaters will always cheat. Good for hunter to end the relationship.
Story 4: Might not crash a funeral, but the phrases "I'm sorry." and "My bad." do not mean the same things at a funeral.
Story 4 - Unbelievable even funerals are not safe from Karens.
People can't even die in peace without being harassed...
I'm curious, what's her relation to the deceased?
Strangers do crash at someone's funeral. Some were just hungry and can't afford to buy food at the moment.
These people exude ironic energy. "I refuse to let you ruin this funeral, so in turn i will ruin this funeral"
story ONE My parants knew that if I wasn't home (or school etc) that I was at the library.
they never asked if i was there, Mom would tell me to go home (likely I forgot to go eat)
story TWO 10:48 actually, Karen's "precious" devil is likely only child who would get hurt since most parents teach kids to be respectful of others
Story 4: 17:33 Since when are invitations sent out for funerals? 18:55 No, you broke your own phone. There are witnesses.
story 4 : i would have said to karen "can YOU prove you knew her?" because with how she was acting even after they proved it, it seems a lot like she was projecting, like SHE was the one who didnt really know her
Guarantee those young men were not white, and that was Karen’s promise. It’s usually Karen’s problem.
Story 1 - That’s a very good policy to have and in the case of this story for this very reason.
I thought the two workers were going to get left everything in a will 😂
Story 3: Always drive with your doors locked.
Thank you you two!❤❤
Story 3 :
I would have taken money and still call the cops and pursue legal actions and if they prove i have taken money from them then i would just give it back to them
Ha ha, I had someone hit me on the road in the exact same way; tried to turn right from the left hand lane and turned into me.
Story 1: OP, good job on a clear explanation ❤ of the reasons for the policy!
Especially OP. In her SO's shoes I woulda ran too
It would have made sense to share that with him BEFORE getting engaged.
This. THANK YOU. I felt the exact same way. That's a bit much to keep secret
Yes.
100%. Past actions demonstrate future intentions. The fiancee would never be able to trust her, she has cheated in her past and she did not tell him knowing how he felt about it, either by lying or omission. Drunken brother did not ruin her relationship, she did!
The library's policy was good, but moot. The girl wasn't there until after the crazy mother called police.
Last story: "How dare you come to this fancy smancy funeral wearing jeans and not let me berate you into oblivion!" Wow. Just wow.
If the person who hits you tries to give YOU money to go away, chances are good it's because they have their own reasons to not want police around.
With a check the issuer can always stop payment on the check, making it bounce. Never take a check from you don't know.
What gets me about the last story is that OP says "a lot of teens cheat"
Climbing Frame Story: OP was foolish to allow ANY kid to play on the frame due to the Liability issues...
This is also why if you live beside a Club (Golf, Ski etc.), Public Park or some kind of business that host a lot of people, you need to have a tall, sturdy fence (plastered with NO TRESPASSING and PRIVATE PROPERTY signs) on the Property Line...
If there is no fence (or it's too short to keep people out), then EVERY TIME you see a Trespasser, you Politely tell them once to leave and if they argue or refuse to leave, then you call the Police to have them Arrested for Trespassing...
love from Manila!
ive been enjoying this snowy background.
with the last story I would have said the only ah was the fiance but since OP decided to kick her own brother out because of his reaction then she sneaks ahead
Umm. Yes. People do crash funerals. And some families designate bouncers. So sad.
Story 1: Is that MY hometown? Our library is just across the road from the police station too!
"* don't think people crash funerals!"
Ever see the movie Wedding Crashers?
OK, that's an extreme example, but in general people at a funeral are there to mourn, and unless it's explicitly closed off then just let people mourn.
I had to call my dad to confirm the first story wasn't my sister because holy crap that sounds like my sister AND her situation
I bet that Karen and her husband were only there to see if they would get something in the will, and how they acted showed they didn’t care for op’s kind boss. The only person that should leave the funeral is Karen and her Kevin husband.
Aren't wills read after the funeral, not during?
@@Bluerose888 yes that is true, but I am guessing Karen was going to sit through it regardless if money involve.
How many kidnapping/fights has that library had, that they have that rule?
One of these recent stories I read have a perfect reply to any Karen that refuses to get the clue. "You must really be a special kind of stupid."
