Great stuff Mark, getting dragonflies in flight is a tough challenge. I agree with you I prefer the longer reach of a zoom lens. In my case I use a 200-500mm. All the best, Steve.
absolutely its an insane lens love mine from wildlife to products to portraiture and more., also gotta correct you the 135gm has 4 yes 2 pairs of super fast motors for the Af, also with dragonflies they have a favorite perch so just watch and wait until you see one go there and then hey presto you know where to sit
look awesome to me. I have been trying this for a few full Saturdays recently, when they have been flying in the sunshine. I find they can hover for a little while but only about 2 seconds. this is over far too quickly for my skill. I have only 2 lenses, the 200-600 & a 90mm macro. I have a few images that I considered at best , adequate. After seeing your images, I must try harder.
Sounds great! I Love both those lenses ! I got some butterflies in flight with the 90mm with the A7II earlier in the year ! They came so close today I thought a wide angle could be used !!
Great images from both lenses Mark difficult to pick between the two. Cheers Keith
Cheers Keith I still favour the 100-400 but the 600mm is an awesome lens ! 👍
Well Done Mark better than mine thanks for sharing.
Wow, thanks Martin
