Mark, glad to see you are using this. I did a review of this lens for wildlife photography a while back and I feel good that a number of people bought it as a result and many people have told me how happy they are with it. It’s pretty much one of the sharpest autofocus lenses on the market period. Not only incredibly sharp but incredibly fast to focus. If you can’t afford something like the 400 GM you can get a lot of the same characteristics in this lens. The other lens in this class is the Sigma 105 f1.4. I have it and love it but it’s a beast to carry around whereas the 135 GM is relatively lighter. An absolute weapon of a lens for wildlife photography. A stellar alternative to a 70-200.
Thanks Adrian it was your review that first highlighted the potential for this lens, being a bit short on the focal length! It is still awesome glass for wildlife photography. For reach I have just ordered the 600mm f4 !😀
Fantastic captures...certainly enjoy the macro photography aspect of any lens...great work...new subscriber and am enjoying your content...a big hello from Nova Scotia as I presently hike around different areas close to home...take care now and have yourself a great week...

Hi Paul. Talking finance again list price £1749 with discount from Castle Cameras at the moment £1500 . You won't get the sharpest telephoto lens at this price for much longer, not that I am in anyway going to profit from this video or from Castle cameras ! I have no affiliation to sell Sony gear just the system I am lucky enough to use and report on ! I buy it so you don't have ! You make up your own mind whether you need it !
Is there any way to add a teleconveter on to the 135mm with a extension tube, like how you can do it with the canon lenses, to give a longer focal length?
Hi Jeroen yep you guessed it's largely an equipment review. I buy it so you don't have to ! List price £1749 but currently £1500 with discount at Castle Cameras ! In no way do I have any affiliation to Sony or Castle cameras ! I do the review for love only !
Yes it might be going or faded out soon but it will be a shame as I have had some good luck when wearing it ! But your the second human to really hate it !!

What tripod are you using in this one? Looks like an amazing lens. Great video!

Hello, good evening and welcome! This is another talking-spec video, and a commercial thrown in together with some financial advice.

Good advice support your local camera shop. Castle Cameras is top notch. 👍
It really is!

It won't take a Sony teleconverter you could add an extension tube to use in macro photography, all though I haven't done this!
@@CamillaI Thanks for the reply...no worries I figured it out, it can take a teleconveter with an extension tube, takes awesome shots too :)
@@gerrymein5282 amazing versatility !
@@gerrymein5282 Could you explain how you use the extension tubes and teleconverter with this lens?
You are right, one prime lens makes you more creative
I always try and use one right properly at a time !😀
@@CamillaI I often take either my 60mm macro or my 135mm 1.8 GM, some times either my 24mm or my 55mm :)
I got one to compliment my 200-600.
Well it is incredibly sharp so wear gloves !! 😀
Excessive gardening can also take too long before you finally show the 1st shot. Got tired of waiting.
Too true, the hours I have spent watching gardening programs !🤔
Where's the wildlife in this video

Can’t not look at that hat, it’s erm… a thing.
