    Yay, someone who actually remade the foam gaskets to seal against the door. Its probably the simplest thing loads of installers miss that costs people a surprising amount of bass in some cars.

    Need some deadening putting in the doors to clear the rattle and help the bass thump more. Great work with the 3d printing!

    Thank you, great video, I also used your tutorial and changed it, but when the bass of the music increases, it makes a loud sound i have belgh belghhhh where does the problem come from?

      It could potentially be the speaker housing rubbing against a part of the car, I personally didn't have this issue so it's hard to diagnose, but I feel it could be something like that, also check that all of your doors components are screwed tightly as the base can resonate making anything loose rattle. hope this helps

    Did use original rings for your car to fit the speakers? Is it strictly neccesary a ring or you can just install it without rings?

    did you disconnect your tweeters as recommended on the box or not?

    • @calebauty
      @calebauty  4 года назад +1

      No i didn’t, I didn’t think u could in the 86 because the speakers run through the tweeters so I was told if I disconnected them I wouldn’t get any sound through my speakers I’ll look it to it tho so thanks for the comment

      @@calebauty I did my 86 stereo recently with a full system with a sub and 5 channel amp under the boot floor and so on. (Absolute massive effort, gutted the whole interior to run all the extra wiring but defo worth it now it’s done)
      In answer to what you said about the tweeters your absolutely right. I found as I was doing it the wiring for the door speakers runs through the tweeters on the dash. What you can do though if you want to disconnect them is unplug the connector that goes to them. You will see it is a 4 way connector so you can either make some jumper wires to push into the connector so it is bypassed. Or I actually just cut the connector off and soldered the 2 sets of wires to eachother to bypass it. If this is something you want to do let me know and I can tell you which wires need connecting as I had to manually work it out with a multimeter as there was no info online.
      What I then did is actually installed some 4 inch coaxial speakers in the dash area as there is space but Toyota didn’t put any in there for the UK market. These 4 inch speakers now essentially act as the dash tweeters and I think it sounds great. You’d have to check to see if you have some spare channels on your headunit tho if you wanted to put some 4 inch in as I had enough for this as I used a combo of the amplifier I put in and the head units channels.
      Anyways nice install on these door speakers I got some adapters lazer cut from MDF from a guy who makes then but the 3D printed ones look sweet will have to consider 3D printing next time I do speakers.
      Matt :)

      @@matthewclarkson4883 hey, thanks for the info it's super useful, I was actually considering getting a sub for the 86, the Alpine speakers make a great sound but it's all high-end, don't get me wrong it's crisp af but without any lower end he just kind of kills the drops in songs. I had a massive sub before in my old car and it completely killed my suspension, don't really wanna go down that route again. I was actually looking at undersea speakers myself but knowing how hard it is not sure whether I can do it. Anyway, thanks for letting us know about the tweet's bypass, think I'll leave them in for now but if I'm upgrading to a sub I'll probably do that too!! cheers

      @@calebauty yea that’s cool. Glad I could help :) The sub box I used was £100 online I think designed for the 86 and fits amazing. Just fits in at the side of the boot so you don’t loose much boot at all. Using a JL audio sub in the box and works good. Then got the amp under the boot floor where one of the pieces of foam was, just replaced it with the amp on a little mount I made.
      If you google GT86 sub box im sure it’ll come up and you’ll see what I mean.
      Alternatively if you are after the slim line/under seat style subs the vibe optisound 8 is pretty awesome for its size. I’ve got an old beetle and use one in that car cause there isn’t a boot to put a sub in as the engines in the back and works well.
      If you have Instagram I’m @95_mr2 if u wanna add us.
      Matt
