Quality and craftsmanship will always be worthwhile. Time has come again that disposable, cheap & plastic is not good. To use such implements would be a pleasure ❤
All these crafters, it is incredibly fascinating, but how can they survive in terms of income? All of this is amazing but can they sell enough to make a decent living?
$150?! Not worth it to me. They're nice looking, but I can't justify spending that much on bamboo chopsticks. I'll stick with the ones I can get by the bag full for less than $5. They do a great job.
@@markforan4812 That makes them even less appealing. Why spend that much on something that's gonna sit on the shelf and hardly get any use? By the way, I've never had anything opulent such as "fine silverware". I'm too practical for such pretentious nonsense.
I got some fancy Japanese lacquer chopsticks for $50 or so in Gion (pre-inflation). I use them all the time and they’re very pretty. They look much better than this.

The video itself is a work of art and a visual masterpiece. Such a beautiful exposition of Asian culture. ❤
Complimenti per la capacità manuale ed artistica, oltre che per la...pazienza !!!
Very beautiful!!
I very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up

The second process might be better called "Shaping a pair of chopsticks". And third process might be "refining".

Many people value the old craftmanship and pay a good price. I also have handmade chopsticks with my name engraved in it.
Another thing is, most of these people do not make just one item, they also do other things that also bring in income.
Beautiful ❤!
Thank you so much!!

I doubt that belt sander was used 260 years ago😮
They say the _skill_ has been handed down for 260 years. There’s no mention of modern machinery, you dolt 🤣
Soo.. designer kindling. I've been training for this job my whole life. ;-P
It’s definitely a labor of love!

나무를 만들기 위해 가공하는 전기와 인건비와 그렇게 만들어도 오래 못쓰는게 문제지.
금속을 가지고 있으면 뺏길까봐 나무를 쓰는거지.

Talk about over compensation on a sander. Lol

These chopsticks are the equivalent of the fine silverware one takes out only on special occasions. They aren’t meant for everyday use.
