I love seeing these sorts of videos from you ! I'm at university studying fine art, but I really really want to start learning how to draw and paint digitally - this was so inspiring !
I worked with Illustrator in Art high School and I don't remember it good. We were doing really structure patterns and I missed lines with ONE pixel, and it already made it look messy and not neat. So I admire your work even more :D
Haha well I am still learning too so I don't feel like I am nowhere like a master of chibis :P I'd say spend a lot of time studying the proportions and styles that are already out there to see how others do it, learn from their successful attempts as well as mistakes. Do plenty of sketches and studies and incorporate what you like the most in your artwork, for example my favourite part to draw is hair, so I put a lot of emphasis on that part, but I also like beautiful eyes so I spend a lot of time creating shapes that I like.
Thanks for the reply Andreja :) From what I see you look like a master to me, though every artist feels they have lots more to learn, regardless of where they are at. It's funny you should say that cause I actually spent last night sketching / studying different styles. Do you have a favourite chibi artist?
Where/what tablet or laptop did you buy? And what/where did you buy your stylus that lets you connect it to your tablet/laptop (Pls reply back:) even tho I'm still young I want stuff like these to make my digital arts more easier to do:] and more nice looking )
+Play Ju yes I drew the base at first and now I use it for this series of charms :) It saves me a lot of time and helps keeping the designs and proportions consistent
Nicolle's Dreams there is some people that "steal" the other people bases, im glad you dont ,by the way you inspire me very much! spare my english im brazillian. where you live?
What device and app did you use. And can you do a video on how to do what you did in the video? Like the photoshop and keeping the sketch really neat. Please reply
your art is incredible and everything you draw so cute and sweet!! please make more speedpaints like this one if you can! also, congratulations!! you reached 400,000+ subscribers!!!! ^3^♥
Your talent just amazes me, it's beautiful work! I draw as well but mainly I use more traditional mediums, I've been experimenting with Copic makers which I love a lot. I used to use illustrator quite frequently when I studied graphic design but unfortunately I never quite learnt how to paint like how you've done, I'd really love to figure it out though and create more digital artworks :)
+Xx-Sado-x X yeah Illustrator can feel a bit counterintuitive at the beginning compared to photoshop. I only learned it because of work but now I am glad that I did :)
Claudia Arends Hi! I hope this will help you, even just a little bit. The program I use is called Clip Studio Paint, there are 3d models of characters in it, people create custom brushes for it and lots of other things. I paid about 12$ because of a discount for CSP. I also heard about paint tool sai, but I don't really use it. I hope this is useful!
Coco Panda thankyou! I heard of paintool sai before my friend uses it , i made a drawing on it once as well and it was nice to work with , only ...my budget isn't that great..
If you don't want to pay any money but you really like PaintTool Sai, FireAlpaca is a program I recommend greatly. I used it for about one to two years before I got Sai and they are very similar programs in terms of the fluidity when drawing and the overall feel. Sai does have better blending tools, but apart from that FireAlpaca is basically like a free version of PaintTool Sai. Hope this helps! :)
Claudia Arends medibang paint is remarkably similar to sai, and it's free! speaking as someone who has used both for a long time, medibang is very nice!
I love drawing, and I find it informative and helpful to watch other artists draw. Lately I've just been drawing with pencil on paper, but I also like making digital pieces using GIMP.
Wow! It's so cute! Is there any way that I could draw something like this in SAI and transfer it over into Adobe Illustrator I could fix up the lines? Or does that only work with Photoshop?
maybe I'm just a bit stupid , but I will ask anyway, what is the name of that tablet or is it a not book ? Because I really want one right now [and my graphic tablette just broke, oupsie] , haha
Wooow so cute and chibi!! But I have a question I got a new BJD doll with the face up and I don t know if it s ok for the makeup if I ll try to make her a wig....what do you think? Kisses for Romania ;*
I hope this question isn't already answered in another video I haven't seen yet, but how do you link brush thickness with pressure sensitivity? I'm just learning on my XP-PEN tablet and having to switch line size all the time is a pain >-
I really enjoy watching your art videos, as it helps give me ideas on how to colour/shade my own work. I prefer to sketch on paper before uploading it to clean it, but colouring still proves difficult for me
I've been drawing since I can remember, I started with the traditional pencil&paper, then slowly experimented with pencils, acrylics and other medium as I was getting them for Xmas and my bdays. Then at the beginning of high school I got a tablet as a present from my parents and started learning how to draw in the digital world. I mostly stuck with programs like Open Canvas, Sai and Photoshop until 3 years ago when I got my full time job as an illustrator and was required to do my artwork in vector. So since then I've been doing a lot of vector art as part of my job.
I enjoy drawing myself and my favorite medium to work with is probably just a plain charcoal pencil. As much as I adore the more fancy and flashy mediums, I'm not good at using them myself. But I really enjoy watching videos like these as well; it's easy to be inspired by such lovely works as well as having just the simple joy of seeing such wonderful creations~ :3
+CrazyRandomFangirl thank you :) I find both traditional and digital work equally fun hehe I am the type of person who gets bored of the same thing very easily so switching from one to the other is the best for my creativity.
+takara A yes I made the base first and then use it to make different chibis. I always try to find shortcuts to save time :) I like both chibis with and without noses, it depends on the style, for this one I think without is better.
I think it is all about working hard towards your goals and being able to make sacrifices to achieve them. I spend most of my free time practicing, making mistakes and learning things :) For example on weekdays after work, I avoid siting down and watching TV (although it is tempting) but instead of that I work on my skills and projects even if I am super tired. Same thing goes with weekends, my schedule is constantly packed. Basically it is up to each of us to decide what we want to achieve in life (we definitely can't get everything we want) and then commit to it and make it happen :)
I really enjoyed you video. I use illustrator when making artwork for the point of sale units I design at work. I now exclusively use it. I'd love it if you could make a small tutorial on what you did to create the gradients in the hair.
She sketches in Adobe Photoshop, then switches to Adobe Illustrator for the rest of the process. Also, she's using a Cintiq Companion 2. All of this was said in the start of the video. :)
Wow looks so clean and professional. Love the details.
can you make a basic tutorial about adobe illustrator? btw u r such an amazing artist! keep up the good work :)

Wow, this is such a detailed illustration done in illustrator. A bit random but do you have any tips on drawing chibi's? Been trying to teach myself

I got a new BJD doll with the face up and I don t know if it s ok for the makeup if I ll try to make her a wig....what do you think?
Kisses for Romania ;*
I love to draw almost anything and I can't quite pick a medium but it's always traditional :)
I hope this question isn't already answered in another video I haven't seen yet, but how do you link brush thickness with pressure sensitivity? I'm just learning on my XP-PEN tablet and having to switch line size all the time is a pain >-

How long have you been digitally doing artwork?? I have wanted to try it, but don't have the resources to do so..😥

What program do you use for your video editing? :) Adorable charms, by the way!
+Kijonaia Art premiere and after effects :)
Dear Andrea, do you make your bases beforehand by yourself? Also, do you think chibis look better with noses or without them?
+takara A yes I made the base first and then use it to make different chibis. I always try to find shortcuts to save time :) I like both chibis with and without noses, it depends on the style, for this one I think without is better.
You so good with drawing o:
how are you so talented...like you're good at everything 😶 You did an amazing job by the way! 💗
