    I am the original owner of a '05 Ram 2500 4x4 diesel. It's a tank and has driven me across the country, coast to coast, more than once, has taken me into the backcountry more times than I can count. It has run flawlessly.

      My 2006 Ram Hemi 1500 has 110k miles has been a great rig. It had a blend door issue early on. Door actuator stock is plastic which breaks and can be permanently fixed with a metal one. Minor interior issues. The motor is solid. Never had a problem.

      @ryanhemming9546 my interior was ment till I put an system in now it's done broke everything inside 2 12 on 7k 152 outlaw , eventually I plan to restore it but going to go with a hell cat engine and trans going to turn it into a sleeper but those plans are a long way out lol , the most I've had to do to mine is oil changes, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, and new suspension , breaks and tires I didn't have to change the plugs until 280 k miles so I'm not complaining at all

      I ordered out my '96 F250 4wd specially to my specs, 7.3L International Harvester V8 diesel, has 326,000+ miles. I would not hesitate driving it cross country from coast to coast. The ZF 5-speed overdrive trans still shifts like new, I had 4 or 5 F-150's with New Process 4-speeds, terrible trans, jumps out of gear, grinds a little on every shift up or down. The 300-6 is a better engine than the NP-435 is a trans. I drove package cars for UPS a couple years, the GM SM-420 was a really good manual trans. How you use your truck determines if a 4 spd or 5 spd makes the most sense for you. I drove dozens of 2-ton and larger trucks with 5-speeds and 2-speed rear axles, a larger V-8 by far better than whipping a 6 cylinder to death. One winter I drove and mid-1960's IH single axle semi-tractor pulling a lightly loaded 48 ft dry box van, the tractor had a 478 cid V8 fed by a tiny Carter 2 bbl carb, it actually pulled thru the 5 forward gears rather well but never got much over 3 or 4 mpg. It had two side mounted 115 gallon gas tanks, had to gas up at both ends of my typical day. The truck I drove before the IH was a 76 F700 Ford with a General Motors 8.2L V-8 diesel that I could almost run a round trip before needing to buy fuel. It had two 30-35 gallon fuel tanks. I did enjoy driving that truck, was about like driving my F-150 except the power-steering worked better. The GM 8.2 V8 got great MPG but it had injection pump repeat problems where it would drop one, or two, or 3 cylinders and slow my cruising speed accordingly. It ran O-K on all 8 but it didn't run on all 8 very long. Right after it had spent a week in the shop for inj pump work I drove it from Davenport, Iowa to Council Bluff's, Iowa, it ran great the whole way round trip. The 7.3L in my F-250 is a much better running engine than that 8.0L

    I gotta say a lot of these pickup trucks I have rescued with my old 1993 GMC GMT400 half ton.. It has an old 400 small block id'd by the parallel starter bolt pattern. It had the NV4500 5 speed bit I swapped it out for a NV3500 because I knew I'd get a little bit better fuel mileage and I wasn't going to be running a snow plow on my play toy. It has manual windows and no power locks. A manual 4wd shift stick on the flow with a an electronic hub locker. It being a 5 speed speaks in itself how reliable it is. Only reason why parts get replaced is because it is my backwoods up in the mountains down out through along the rivers of Montana enjoying the country life hunting and fishing.

    I bought a used 2012 Tundra with the 4.6L V8 & @15K miles on the odometer in 2014 from a dealer. Only replaced the alternator so far & it has over 105K miles currently. One of the best vehicles I've ever purchased. I want a "new truck" but don't want to get rid of this one. Like most folks, I usually want to trade in/off a vehicle because of dissatisfaction, but there's nothing that makes me dissatisfied with this truck. Another issue I have, is that I want another Toyota truck IF I were to trade this one off, but I was told that Toyota stopped offering a V8 option in its trucks & that's a hard no from me. V6's are NOT an option in a truck I'd accept. They aren't as efficient in power production as a V8 & when boosted with turbos or other means to get near V8 performance, their reliability suffers. I pull a trailer with a 3600 lb tractor on it from time to time, and the towing vehicle weight is a BIG concern. First, the power to get it moving, then the capability to get it to stop quickly & safely. Lighter & smaller, less powerful trucks might "get the job done", but at a greater risk to the vehicle & driver, especially in lower traction conditions.🤠

      They don’t sell because they don’t break down. You have to break down before you buy new . My first truck was an 81 Ford. F150, 5 L engine always started no matter how cold, but had no power and used a lot of fuel . Next, truck a GMC Sierra with a 305 /5 ltr I sold that one because I needed more power. Next one, 1995 GMC sierra 350 engine had just under 500,000 km when I got rear ended so bad it bent my frame then I least an 06 4.8 l then traded it in for an 08 for a 5.3 L that one I drove for 210,000 km and traded it in for a 2015 which I’m still driving and I have never had to do anything to my trucks except maintenance the reason I traded the new ones is for right off purposes for business and I want new trucks I always say if it doesn’t give you trouble why switch brands . my brother has a 2011 dodge ram 290,000 km has never done anything except maintenance. I say they are all good as long as you take care of them except the ridge line that’s not a truck shouldn’t even be in there and just by the way that 3.5 eco-boost terrible engine and so is the 5.4 the new 5 L Ford engine is a great engine if I was to buy a Ford that would be the engine I would choose

    Funny, i didnt see the probably 2 best engines and trucks listed. SBC 350 and either the 5.0 or 5.8 351... My 92 GMC k1500 is more dependable than all these vehicles. Plus everything is mechanical, no electric gremlins can slow me down. And super cheap and easy to repair. Couple quick mods like shorty headers and k&n air filter with a slightly bigger exhaust i went from 9mpg to 16.5mpg at 65mph. Plus engine modifications are basically limitless. Yet this age of chevy or fords isnt even listed. So im guessing this video is either government propaganda or auto manufacturers propaganda, not an actual report on the longest lasting trucks, since ya know we have recorded history going back further than the 2000's 😂😂😂

    Dodge builds the worst, lowest resale value, trucks on the road. They ride like a rock is strapped to your ass. Owned a 1993 model and brother owned a 2008 Cummins. Both were terribly-built vehicles. I do not know how they can dare ask the prices Chrysler asks for these POS.
    No thank you. I will just treasure my 2002 Ford F350 7.3litre Power Stroke Crew Cab with only 39,862 miles, always garaged and properly maintained. It's got at least another 400,000 miles left in it. Ford builds the best trucks of any brand in the world. I had an old, 1987 F150 as a work truck that lasted for 380,000 miles with the 5.8litre.

      My 5.4 with 251k that I’ve driven around the country begs to differ.. all original timing components, transmission was replaced before my timing components but other than that it’s been real solid. Eyeballing a 2018 Z71 Silverado and glad I did my research those are literal pos. Almost pulled the trigger on one till I found out what the owners had to say about them.

Guy I work with has a 2022 Ram, hood edge is already rusted, every person I know has always changed transmissions and in one instance the trans went out within the first 1000 miles! No way STAY AWAY FROM DODGE! Want proof? See if you see any Dodge sprinter vans in your area I GUARANTEE They are rusted out!

    You mention the Honda Ridgeline twice in your assessments. First of all, it is not even considered a real pickup, being based on a minivan. Secondly, its engine is bassackwards and front wheel drive! That is NOT a truck and should not even be among these other real trucks.

    • @RedmanLS3
      @RedmanLS3 3 месяца назад

      Sounds like this dude embarrassed about his man card. Ridgeline isn't a minivan and base on a pilot with awd. Know you cars before talking 💩. Oh yeah btw..it can do the same as a real truck while real truck drive pay $80 for gas just to drive in a small town and never see off road or towing 😂

    Ironic how they put a Dodge for this video as the Most reliable when 4 of my friends had Durangos Dakota's and other Dodge pickups. those cheap pieces of shit at Dodge cheaped out using (steel) brake lines... guess what happened? 1 crashed & lost his life, the other swerved and went into the trees because his brake lines Busted from rust.... the 2 other ones luckily were able to salvage their trucks and pay a few thousand to put in Brass brake lines which should have been installed at the factory.. was that a matter of being reliable???
