I have to agree with you there. I considered buying one when they first came out but after my last fiasco of a truck purchase (2004 Ford F150 with 5.4 triton 3 valve engine) I will not buy another vehicle in its model year. I believe they made the Nissan Titan XD with the v8 Cummins engine for only 3 years and about half of them had catastrophic engine failures and can’t even get the parts to fix them. Dodged the bullet on that one. Also - all the Ford and GMC / Chevy diesels from 2012 to 2019 used a CP4 fuel injector pump that self destructs causing replacement of the entire fuel system.
2015 Ram 2500 here. I’ve had it for 7 years. I bought it with 21k miles and it now has 107k. It’s been a fantastic truck so far with none of the problems mentioned. *knocks on wood 😂
I have owned several Ram trucks, and still have two. A 2004 Ram 2500 w/ 5.9 Cummins and a 2020 1500. The only issue I have had is on the 2004’s auto transmission ( 48RE). I have to admit those transmissions are only good for about 100k. But never had any of the other stated issues. The 2004 has over 325k miles and no mechanical items replaced other than the trans.

Dodge/Ram have always had major issues. I would NEVER own one, only lease it and give it back before it becomes a bank-account-breaker! Waterfall depreciation was another issue with all of them.
It's especially disappointing to read of the problems with the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, as this was the last year of that generation. I notice the 2023 and 2024 Colorado models aren't mentioned, possibly because those models are too new to have much of a track record. But I know those Colorado (and GMC Canyon) versions have a 2.7L turbo four that I'm curious to know about. I've heard conflicting reports about the reliability in the larger Silverado 1500. My gut feeling is that the 2.7L turbo-4 also has its share of problems. In any event, from what I've read, that turbo four is not only noisy but also thirsty for gas, which seems to me to defeat the purpose of a downsized engine. We shall see.
You need to add my 2020 F150 with 5.0L and 10 speed. From day one its using one quart of oil per 1,000-1,500 miles, The 5.0L engine started "pinging" under lite load at about 30,000 miles and after Ford dealer had my truck in the shop for a month they stated No Problems Found and the noise is normal. Now at 45,000 miles I still have the "pinging" under lite load and very poor shifting from the 10 speed during 2-4 gear shifts. I have been a Ford truck (F100, F150, F350 and E450) owner for 50 years plus and this is not your good old Ford truck.
Electrical gremlins have plagued Dodges for decades. I can atest to that! I will NEVER buy another Dodge truck or any Chrysler product. Horrific resale value, as well. Everybody I know who bought a Dodge regretted it.

2007 Chevy silverado 6.0 has been a very solid rig for me
FIAT, which is Chrysler's largest shareholder, should be sued and banned from the USA due to its poor performance in the construction of Dodge and other vehicles by the automaker.
Certainly she wants to end up with the glorious Krysler that we have been very proud of since the beginning of its existence. maneco - Porto Alegre-RS - Brasil.
My 2015 has 340.000 an breaks tires water pump an manifold bolts bin good truck 5.7
We bought 2023 Toyota Tundra within 8 months of owning the truck i hear Rod bearing knock Paid 70 thousand dollars my payment is $860.00 a month Know it's sitting at the Dealership for three months until they get a new engine.
This article is a waste of time. If your looking to buy a 20 year old vehicle just do an internet search for that vehicle.
I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 with the 3.7 v 6 . it has 128000 thousand miles and never had any problems with it
I owned both 2004 Colorado and 2015. Never had an issue with with truck.
Whoever chooses when to pop in the commercials needs to do a better job. To shove them in the middle of a subject or chapter is ridiculous.
Colorado trucks really have a re-PU-tation.
Our 2011 Chevy Colorado blew the 5 cylinder engine at 130,000 miles
Vital safety systems like the rear view camera........... There are these things called mirrors mounted on your doors......... You ought to look into them............. Literally.............. 😂😂😂😂😂
I like my camera for trailer connection but I can do with out it easily 😮
The camera is good for checking for children in blind spot.
You should walk around the vehicle to verify firsthand rather than rely on even a camera. @@twoody9760
thanks for the 2015 update!
They all got good and bad things wrong with them. They all. Ju8nk nowadays 60.000 dollars for a junkbox..
99 24 VALVE CUMMINS 500000 MILES AND COUNTING
I still have my 2001 24 valve 460,000 MI these are different trucks they're not the newer junk trucks
2001 2500 cummins. Paint my problem.
For the price of a new truck you could paint it every year or a new motor and still come out ahead 😜
@@moveitback1 paint in the plan. 145,000 miles. I did do a dash replacement. Core skeleton to the facial. Heat in the south is hard on the plastic. Interior flawless but paint terrible.
Would you do a video on the most reliable trucks?
Ihave had so many of the rams 1500 and 2500. One had a wiring issue. The rest were great
Might Not ? !!!
You can make that statement about any vehicle !
I have been driving pickup for over 40 years and the best one is my 2020 dodge 4 wheel drive, rides better and handles better than any of my fords or chevy and I get about 20 mph with the hemi engine. Oh by the way I am 76 years old.
All I can say to you is good luck with that truck remember it's a Dodge the problems are just beginning
20 mph....that is pretty slow for a hemi.
F250 5.0 1996 150,000+ 8ft bed two door a true work truck!!! Not mom's Taxi or grocery getter!!!
That's why I bought my 2021 toyota tundra.
Rams are drive way art good for polishing only.
Looks like most of the quotes say " don't buy anything after 2004 models.
I have a Dodge ram ♈ 2500 16800 miles and snow plow truck a real workhorse 2014 and still going strong......
I wonder how many of these stats come from the owners driving them like A-holes, and generally abusing them?
America, new Trucks;..when Computers on wheels pretent to be Trucks...
I am surprise you didn't mention 19-24 Chevy Silverado, lifters issues and 8speed transmission 😂😢😊😊
Wish I still had my 65 ford f250. Keep it simple.
I'm on my 4 ram never let me down normal maintenance and 1 recall on my 2010.. I can't believe they have a lot problems
Ram 2015 133000 perfect got a 2019 classic 80000 not 1 problem
2019 Ram v6 etorque all the truck youll ever need, love it.
Funny mine has 300 thousand miles
It's a bit of a stretch to say the 2001 tundra has issues as the truck is almost 24 years old!
I’ll stick with my 1986 Chevy k10s. They’ve already lasted me 40 years lol
Agreed. Have my wife's inherited 84 c10 silverado and a 71 delta 88 convertible. Out of all 4 vehicles these 2 will never leave my yard lol
@ hell yeah man I won’t get rid of my squarebodies either. Never
Electrical gremlins have plagued Dodges for decades. I can atest to that! I will NEVER buy another Dodge truck or any Chrysler product. Horrific resale value, as well. Everybody I know who bought a Dodge regretted it.
What year(s) did you have tho?
@Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit 1994 and a 2010. Both were lemons that rattled and sparked. Rode like hell, too.
I have ford 2007 6.0Lpowerstroke with Over 400,000KM And still going
Surprised to see Mazda there.....then again if that model was closely related to Ford, then I suppose it's to be expected 🤣
I’ve got a fleet of ram 2500 6.7 liter Cummins…. Ain’t a da,m thing wrong with these trucks…. In fact they are the best truck brand we have owned in our 38 years in business… this video is not accurate
If the video was accurate it would have included every newer duramax. thousands of dollars just to keep it on the road
Correct. Our company had a fleet of Ford 6.0. My co workers were broke down all the time. Luckily, I got one of the last 7.3's
i had a 2015 ram 2500 and never had a single problem with it. other than normal wear and tear. tires, brakes and i put over a hundred thousand miles on it. and i used it to tow a fifth wheel rv. of course it had some rust being i live in the midwest got my son a 2013 ram 1500 it had only one issue warped manifold covers got them replaced the truck had 52 thousand now has 110 thousand. replaced the key fob. normal wear and tear tires brakes. lucky him he has to pay for his own maintenance.
Forget diesel engines for ever
Dodge/Ram has said that they are dropping their Diesel engines, with in the next few years.
93 s10 295 000. Still running
Dodge ram has ball joint failure also 😢😢😢
My 2001 uppers. Lowers still ok.
Well my Gen 2 frontier was not in there one with 330.000 Miles One with 210.000 miles and My Wife's new one has 30.000 miles Gen 3. Nissan Has been great to me. I have a buddy with a 05 Titan with over 400.000 miles. He puts used oil in it. Thing just won't die.
I've got a Gen 3 Frontier now. It's mostly a Gen 2 under that body. Even the 3.8 and 9spd was a carry over from the Gen 2
@@JJsGA only 20 and 21 had the 3,8 and 9 speed 05 to 19 is 5 speed auto or stick and 4.0 the 20 21 were test for the gen 3 running gear. I have a 22 and a 13 22 3.8 9 speed 2013 4.0 5 speed although I do have a 24 Pro 4 x interior in my 13 now the Gen 3 seats bolt right into my Gen 2 Much nicer way more comfortable.
@@jimmyjackass1805 I know that. I also own a 24 pro4x.
But I feel you didn't fully understand my comment. Gen 2 ended in 21 so OBVIOUSLY it was only 20 and 21 for the 3.8 in gen 2. That also means it's a carry over from gen 2 as I stated.
The frame is a gen 2 frame with added refinement and 5 inches added to it.
@@JJsGA Your statement is your statement what' s not to understand I have owned several Frontiers down to the Datsuns. I'm in my 60s I know these trucks front to back nut to bolt. Tell me something I don't know. Cool story though Broski
@@jimmyjackass1805 and yet here we are with you trying to correct me by saying only "only 20 and 21 had the 3.8" as if somehow that invalidates my original comment. Don't care what or how many you've owned, you should have known that powertain came out in the 2nd Gen and was carried over to the 3rd. Don't be a "jackass" about it and just move on. So yeah, cool story "bro"
2006 Toyota Tundra here, 255K and still no problems, and not overladen with all this computer garbage trucks don't need. Paid 28K in 2006, and it still appraised for 15K in 2023, that's a decent value, new trucks just cost way too much.
07 Tundra 5.7 litre v8 here. 400000 km. Using synthetic motor oil.
Still running great. Love this truck.
I know someone with the 5.4 triton. Their spark plugs also blew out and fucked everything up. She said she’s gotta pay 5 grand to get it fixed lol. Total junk engines
My 2012 ram 3500 has 500000 kilometres on it and runs like a top
I have a 2019 Colorado. Garbage, it feels like every 2000 miles I have to bring it in for something going wrong.
Infotainment has gone twice.
Transmission slipping.
3rd ECM.
Dash lights randomly go out.
And the infotainment goes into dark or night mode even on bright sunny days, which makes it very difficult to read due to glare.
If you buy a Chevy you always buy full size
Our 2011 Colorado was crap too engine blew at 130k
If I were you I’d get rid of it and get a ford Maverick hybrid 40 city / 33 hwy (All wheel drive too)
No way dodge had a problem with transmissions lmao
Andrew Camaratas famous saying: Dodge Trucks are made out of tin foil......!
All cars and trucks. Chevy Ford dodge. Have many problems
In another video he said that 6.7 cummin was in the best motors. Here its no good lol.
It probably matters how they were treated
