... The vinegar is a good idea… I put it in a bag with lots of powdered nutritional yeast… That’s the fine nutritional yeast not the regular… If you have the regular nutritional yeast put it in the blender until you have a powder… Clings to the popcorn very nicely and I am sure the vinegar will help with the clinging… Thanks for your recipe🙏
Yeah but there are some brands out there that claim theirs can't be done that way even though I am 100% sure all kernels are the exact same thing just with a different brand name shoved on the bottle etc
During my non-nutritarian days (SOS), I used pickle-brine as a seasoning adherent ... worked well for dill-pickle flavoured popcorn. Nowadays like yourself though I use apple cider vinegar along with a ridiculous variety of herbs & spices ... I will give your Method #3 a shot next weekend thanks Brittany!
Your such a life saver I was actually not gonna eat popcorn again due to oil overload.after watching this video I literally threw the phone aside and ran to the microwave to give it a try.3 minutes later and guess what? I was smiling with excitement. Thank you so much 💓
1st method, just use big round glass heat resistant bowl with ceramic or glass plate as cover. It leaves kernels but these can be used again and the ones that are left finally become crunchy and edible. No need to add anything, they are fantastic as they are. Healthy. Addictive too.
I've just tried the microwave method, I can't believe it's that simple and good! the vinegar/nutritional yeast gave it a sour/cheesy flavour...love it, Thanks! ❤️
Thanks! The first vid I watched on this topic bragged they use 7 TABLESPOONS of butter.... I immediately went to find something else. These are great methods I will try asap!
Lol, i have seen popcorn as guilty pleasure these past weeks because i use oil on them, had no idea you can pop them without, thank you so very much for this!
I tried the first microwave method. Make sure the papertowel is tight around the glass container, my kernels did a bit of jumping! Also it might take one or two tries to perfect the timing, I burnt mine a bit the first time around. But then I was surprised and pleased with the results! Thank you!
I am Proud if You, for not Promoting Ciconut Oils, that are Tran Fat, Solid oils at room temp. I glad you are the Most Informative, about Fats & Oils. I will be a Promoter to your Site. Keep up the Good Work!
I just tried the glass container and the stove methods and they both work perfectly fine. I was planning to order an air popper but now I won’t. Thank youuuu, this video was very helpful
Oh my goodness... I thought oil was required in order to pop the popcorn, lol. I could never understand how popcorn could be "low calorie" with all that oil used, so this is definitely something I will be trying now!
I use a hot air machine! And it pops big time! But I could never get flavoring! Now thanks to so many easy tips? I'm happy! AND A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!
You are a Gem! I was looking for a way to flavor my pop corn without using oil to make the seasonings stick. Its crazy how many people think that oil is healthy these days. I also appreciate the different ways to pop it. You are a genius!
Thanks for sharing. I use the brown bag method. Organic kernels only. Why? I watched a food chef on tv who mentioned that tiny microscopic organisms were in conventional kernels that are able to get into the microbiome. Sorry to digress. I eat my popcorn without seasoning 🎉
Thanks for this, as dumb as it sounds, I never knew you could microwave the kernels just like that. Always thought that you could only do it with the microwaveable ones. This makes it much more convenient to create a healthy, low calorie snack. There's absolutely no reason to go back to the unhealthy premade microwaveable popcorn now. Thanks so much. BTW, I find it funny at the end of your video it shows you have 445 subs, and now you're at 55.5K, congrats and wish you best of luck!
i tried with the 1st method and it worked for most of the popcorn, the catch is if you cook it for too long then your microwave might shut off to prevent overheating.
I did it with my air fryer. Air pop the popcorn. Before you start get a spray bottle of water. Next gather your spices. Pop your popcorn. The second it's done spray it a little with water then quickly shake on toppings. I'm enjoying popcorn with dill and nooch. No oil no butter!!
Just here to confirm my thought (without a mess or waste). I lost my air popper but have loose kernals still. And since I'm not buying that bagged, butter flavored palm oil crap, i figured I'd just put it plain in a paper bag. I've also used a metal mesh over a heat gun.
NOTE- According to the FDA, the ink, glue, and recycled materials in brown paper bags may emit toxic fumes when the bag is heated. Also, paper bags ignite easily during heating. Heating glass is fine, but this was bad advice.
Thank you, great ideas. You can make sweet low calorie popcorn by using supermarket sugar free sweetener such as Stevia or Zylotol, I recommend zylotol personally. You’ve rescued movie nights on my diet, good job!.
This is huge! Do you think apple cider vinegar could be similarly sprayed onto french fries to season before baking? I've seen recipes that suggest Braggs or soy sauce, but I'm trying to cut down on sodium.
I did NOT know you could do stovetop popcorn without oil! It doesn't seem to much work since it's my preferred method anyway, I need to try this asap!🤩
It works very well with a nonstick pot. Just allow the pot to heat very well then put the corn and cover the pot. It will pop everything within 3-5 minutes
@@blazorb5907 it was well dear with a nonstick pot, just allow the pot to heat very well then put the corn and cover the pot. Everything will pop within 3-5 minutes.
Oil as a whole isn't bad for you. The oils present in pre-made popcorn and movie theater popcorn are very likely terrible for you. However since I'm looking to make more low calorie snacks these methods are very helpful. Great video!
Look up blackjewel popcorn online. I used to buy popcorn from crownjewelgourmet but they seem to have disappeared. Black Jewel, however, is very much still around. And their popcorn is so much better. Another company called tiny but might is pretty dang yummy too.
wow the 1st method works and has saved me a lot of calories :D. Had some popcorn burnt maybe you know what I did wrong? some did not pop and some got burnt, and others were perfect.
I had no clue that you could make popcorn without oil if you didn’t have an air popper! I’m going to make this right now!
Same
Same i thought the oil makes the popcorn pop and the package instructions said to
Right?? I was literally going to buy one thinking I needed an air popper if I wanted to stop using oil wow..thank you so much!

Wait, I can pop popcorn in the microwave without oil? Okay, that's amazing. Didn't know that.
Frrrr^
Yeah but there are some brands out there that claim theirs can't be done that way even though I am 100% sure all kernels are the exact same thing just with a different brand name shoved on the bottle etc
Me too
oil is mostly used to make food not stick to the pan, ur kitchen wont explode if u cook anything without oil LOL

And not all oils are bad. Butter, peanut oil, olive oil, are not too bad. It is the refined palm oil and hydrogenated vegetable oil that are bad.
God bless you! Been using the pan method fir years but with added oil. I really didnt know you could pop them without oil. Thanks again!
Did u try without oil? How did it go?

Perfect. Vinegar in a spray bottle. Why didn’t I think of that LOL. Thank you! 😀
Spraying pickle juice or coconut aminos is also good if you want no fat but they are obviously salty.

At what stage would you add sugar in the stove top method. Could you use Stevia as an alternative?
Thank you for sharing this!
Hows your popcorn doesnt burn when u make it in the stove? Mine burnt 😞
Put about 3 kernels in the pan and wait for one to pop, then put the rest of the kernels and wiggle the pan often
Dont go to a super high temperature i go for medium. When i go for high it starts to burn them
