Matt Parker the eternal empire was massive but it only lasted for a very short period of time, and he said he was only covering the ones that lasted a decent while. As for the hutt empire that was sort of a smuggling line or CRIMINAL empire rather than a military or government. So it wouldn't really fit in with the rest of them
I think the Hutt Empire deserved some mention. They were powerful enough to go to war with the ancient Republic and even up to the Galactic Empire, no one messed with them because the Hutts had so much wealth that they would have been a pain in the ass for the Empire to subdue. It wasn't until the Vong appeared that the Hutts actually met their match. Until then though, no one messed with the Hutts.
ahm... in Legends neither was adopted from the CIS... The DS-1 formed as the brainchild of Raith Sienar, the Wizard of Coruscant and CEO of Sienar Fleet Systems. Sienar told Tarkin about it because he himself considered it nothing more than an interesiting game of mind. Tarkin forwardeed it to Palpatine, who later on gave the planes to the Geonosians to further research the stuff. The TIE-Fighter also originated by Raith Sienar

The Galactic Empire became the Imperial Remnant, then the Imperial Renmant became the Fel Empire. After the Sith-Imperial war the Galactic Alliance and the Fel Empire merged and alongside the Jedi Order became the Galactic Triumvirate.
Not much is really known about the Triumvirate since the Expanded Universe isn't making any comics on them for some reason, but the Triumvirate is ruled by a Emperor, the Leader of the Jedi Council and Military Commander (So democracy is pretty much dead)
I would like to hear more about the New Republic because it had a lot going for it as it was supposed to be the Middle Earth type 4th age government of the Star Wars Universe but collapsed; also, I enjoyed the idea of a rotating government capital system and the New Republic embodied it. Thanks for your time.
There's not much about the Eternal Empire at this point, but it would interesting to see a video about it, given that it did effectively conquer the galaxy and rule it for at least several years.
Big Ben The New Republic is the government that was formed by the Alliance to Restore the Republic shortly after the Battle of Endor. The Resistance is a private military that was founded by Leia Organa to combat the First Order, since the New Republic would not do it.
Here's some backstory. After the end of the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance become the New Republic, and signed a thing with the remnants of the Galactic Empire, the Galactic Concordance I think, which allowed the fractured remains of the Empire to peacefully leave and go and do their own thing outside of the Republic. The deal was that each government would leave each other alone, in turn for peace. But, all this did was give time for the empire to lick its wounds and rebuild its military. Then about 30 years ABY (canon) they returned as the First Order. The republic decided not to do anything about it, so Leia decided to leave the senate and form the Resistance, due to the Republic's refusal to do anything about the First Order. So yeah, that's basically what happened with that.
I hope they make a 3 movies that are based around the Yuuzhan Vong because they wound really interesting and it would be amazing to watch on the big screen.
+Star Wars Explained Thank you, this video was really needed! That era is really chaotic, I think a video like this would help to see thing more clear.
+Steelstorm It would actually look like this: Old Republic, Zygerrian Slave Empire, Mandalorians, Galactic Republic, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, New Republic, First Order, Resistance
thanks to the incompetence of New Republic military... the Jedi Order and the Imperial Remnant fought much better against the Vong... as did (former) Republic Fleet commander General Etan A'Baht, but he had been sidelined by the Surpreme Commander of the NR Forces, Sien Sovv, and therefore left the NR military and instead went and forced the Vong to a standstill in his homesector

It's a Confederation which is similar to a republic but with less centralized control and more power to individual planets or provinces. In the clone wars series they reveal that the CIS has its own senate and Count Dooku sits at the head of it.
Webby The Dino I guess they planned to install a complete capitalist society, since they were consisting of companies rather than people. But it was a hegemony, since the Sith had absolute power.
the companies and bankers were just the main financiers. the CIS mainly consisted of alien worlds who felt unrepresented in the republic. They were tired of the growing corruption and the culture of human exceptionalism on the rise that was pitting aliens as second class citizens.

What about the Corporate Sector? Wasn't it (at least, in Legends) a separate entity, outside the realm of the Empire? (Also, I think the Corporate Sector is canon again, because it's mentioned at the end of the Tarkin novel as a place the rebels who stole the Carrion Spike could go and hide.)

So in Legends the term "Old Republic" is used when you are speaking about the era before the Republic Dark Age. In Canon the story is similar. The Old Republic had a great war with the Mandalorians, which led to the destruction of the Republic. But the with the help of the Jedi Order, the Republic was reorganized as the Galactic Republic sometime arround 1000 BBY (in Attack Of The Clones Palpatine said "I will not let this Republic that has stood for a thousand years be split in two.", so if we count with this it means the Galactic Republic was established in the year 1022 BBY).
tv9mpeti Avtually it was the war with the Sith Empire that destabilized the Old Republic, but wars with Mandalorians certainly contributed to its decline.
I really want to know the Canon version of the how the rebels chose the Malik family crest( starkillers family's crest seen in the force unleashed games witch aren't cannon anymore) so I'm wonder what's the origin of the crest because it's the symbol of the rebellion and the new republic
We don't know it yet in Canon. It looks the most likely, that Sabine will design it sometime in the following episodes of Rebels, she uses now a very similar emblem.
Master Chief Keef Of Gondor I'm hoping that the new origin would be that the crest resembles the KOTOR (which is a bit canon thanks to rebels) Old republic crest.
I want to know more about the Imperial Remnant. What was the Government fellowing Palpatine's "Death" in both Legends and Canon? Who was in charge? Was it the same or different type of Government? Who spilt off from the Imperial mindset? Who become hardliners?
Let me dis spell this notion in two words: Yuuzhan Vong. They are the most ridiculous part of this whole plotline. Also: 25000 "years" of peace under one government but suddenly after this period shit hits the fan and 10 regime changes in 100 "years". It doesn't really make sense, does it.
TheHolySandal Republic had to stay united to oppose the Sith. Later it stayed united through times of peace. And then the Sith turned it into the Empire, later continuing their attempts to take over the galaxy, which caused more wars. That makes perfect sense
Makes perfect sense. Think of the the Balkans being part of the Hapsburgs for Hundred Years, then the regions goes through WW1, WW2, the Cold War, and the fragmentation of Yugoslavia.
This is the Legends Universe (Star Wars Comics and most of the Games), the First Order is in the Canon Universe (The Movies, TV Shows and some Games). They are different timelines, also the First Order is a organization so if it was Legends it wouldn't be here (Keep in mind that the Rebel Alliance actually governed planets and people while the First Order works like a Terrorist Organization)
Hutt empire and Eternal empire??? where are they? Eternal Empire conquered almost all of the galaxy and what they didnt conquer they forced them to obey their commands.... compared to rebel alliance I would say that Eternal empire did much more...

+Primal Panda387 There was a Hutt Space which was a large portion of space controlled by Hutts. Just look at any map from EU (end even from Canon) there is always a big green area since c. 25000 BBY.
Kevc00 Not much is really known unfortunately other than him desimating the alliance, the jedi order, almost crushing the fel empire and ruling the galaxy. I mean,we do know what his empire accomplished its just that its not detailed like any other empires written.
Kevc00 Well he was a tusken raider Jedi whom anakin confessed to about killing that whole tribe. He was captured by the yuzan vong and infected and experimented on. We don't know it yet in Canon. It looks the most likely, that Sabine will design it sometime in the following episodes of Rebels, she uses now a very similar emblem.
Master Chief Keef Of Gondor Your icon is the same one I use for facebook
Master Chief Keef Of Gondor
I'm hoping that the new origin would be that the crest resembles the KOTOR (which is a bit canon thanks to rebels) Old republic crest.
another great video by Star Wars Explained!
I thought the Old Republic and the Galactic Republic were two different Governments?
Giant Dad, keyword: Republic.
Giant Dad In Canon, yes.
Ray Yanma I thought in Canon AND Legends.
Pink Floyd Stuff Well doesn't explain everything.
There could easily be multiple glalactic governments which are Republics
Giant Dad They are the same thing.
Pls make a video for the manufacturing system like the Sienar fleet system,Kuat drive yards and Incom Corporation.
there needs to be a star wars game like battlefront that surrounds these main governments
Carlos Hernandez There's a mod for battlefront that adds 12 new factions a bunch of maps and units it spans from Old republic to the New Republic.
//sef. //polat I don't remember the name but its on the steam workshop
Do a video on the various Imperial warlord factions such as Pentastar Alignment, Greater Maldrood, Eriadu Athority etc.
What about The Eternal Empire....
I want to know more about the Imperial Remnant. What was the Government fellowing Palpatine's "Death" in both Legends and Canon? Who was in charge? Was it the same or different type of Government? Who spilt off from the Imperial mindset? Who become hardliners?
everything was great in legends until force awakens appears 😑😕
Let me dis spell this notion in two words: Yuuzhan Vong. They are the most ridiculous part of this whole plotline. Also: 25000 "years" of peace under one government but suddenly after this period shit hits the fan and 10 regime changes in 100 "years". It doesn't really make sense, does it.
TheHolySandal
Republic had to stay united to oppose the Sith.
The Yuuzhan Vong War reminds me of an sci-fi version of Lord of the Rings where they fight off tons of Goblin creatures.
Mandalorians? Once conquered a chunk of the galaxy? Had a war named after them? Were a apart of the Sith Empire and weren't even mentioned???
Is implied just in the Clone Wars.
Galactic Triumvirate always puzzled me. Can you did a detailed video on them
What about the first order
This is the Legends Universe (Star Wars Comics and most of the Games), the First Order is in the Canon Universe (The Movies, TV Shows and some Games). They are different timelines, also the First Order is a organization so if it was Legends it wouldn't be here (Keep in mind that the Rebel Alliance actually governed planets and people while the First Order works like a Terrorist Organization)
I'd like to know more about the infinite empire, do you have a video that explains more about that faction?
Long live the Sith Empire
Darth Sieberius Which one? The one before the Republic, the one during the "Golden Age of the Sith," or the one after the Great Hyperspace War?
The one with Darth Malgus.
Darth Sieberius sooooo the New Empire?
Old Republic era.
Pleased to meet you, Darth Sieberius. I am Darth Rien.
pls make a vid about the 2nd galactic civil war
There has just never been peace in the galaxy, huh?
Peter Berg "Star Wars", get it now?
well its called "Star *Wars*" so....
There was between the Ruusan Reformations and the Clone Wars.
Can you do a video on the second galactic civil war? Thanks! Your videos are awesome!!!
Hutt empire and Eternal empire??? where are they?
Eternal Empire conquered almost all of the galaxy and what they didnt conquer they forced them to obey their commands.... compared to rebel alliance I would say that Eternal empire did much more...
Mlg Sty the eternal empire only lasted a short while and he said at the begging of the video he was only covering the major ones that lasted a decent amount of time...
Mlg Sty As for the hutt empire, that was like a Criminal empire rather than a military or government. So it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the governments and stuff
We dont even know how long eternal empire did last and rebel alliance was only rebellion with leaders so they count as "criminals" on their own way too
+Primal Panda387 There was a Hutt Space which was a large portion of space controlled by Hutts. Just look at any map from EU (end even from Canon) there is always a big green area since c. 25000 BBY.
Do a video about the imperial remenant I'm interested in it
Darth krayts sith empire
Kevc00 The One Sith?
Nazmi Ahmad yes but more on the empire he built
Kevc00 Not much is really known unfortunately other than him desimating the alliance, the jedi order, almost crushing the fel empire and ruling the galaxy.
I mean,we do know what his empire accomplished its just that its not detailed like any other empires written.
That's a pity its one of the most interesting parts of legends
Kevc00 Well he was a tusken raider Jedi whom anakin confessed to about killing that whole tribe. He was captured by the yuzan vong and infected and experimented on. He returned way after the civil war founded his empire was dying due to yuzan vong experiments was frozen in carbonite then unfrozen then frozen again.
Can you make a vid About the bioniip labaratories
I know wars sell more but I think legends made an overkill. So many governments and wars
Pedro Velasquez
"Star Wars"
What part of "Wars" have you missunderstood?
It spans over 20,000 years of history. Look how many governments have risen and fallen, and how many wars have been fought in the past two centuries in real life.
Do a vid about Darth Wredd, the last Sith Lord.
YOUR THEORY IS CONFIRMED, THE DEATH STAR FIRES IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRAILER #2!!!
Do a video about Revan's Empire
Is there a possibility of you doing a video about the various Imperial factions that arose after The Battle of Endor?
Anyone know which comic 3:37 is?
man, that plague that affected the Rakatachanged the galaxy forever, i wonder what triggered it, or even caused it, maybe the force itself tired of too much darkness, or some underground force using slaves developed it, so many possibilities. Is there some source or hint to it anywhere?
You forgot to add the Eternal Empire (Or Empire of Zakuul) from SWTOR, or is that Canon?
Alex you forgot "The Eternal Alliance" "The Alliance (Rules by the Outlander)" And "The Eternal Empire"
what about mandalore the ultimate's empire
Are you going to do a video about New Canon governments at some point?
do a video on the history and all info about either the fel empire or the new sith empire
I love how it's called the galactic republic, but it's really an empire just like every other galactic government
What about the Restored Empire?
Please Can you do a Video on the warlords like kappan and the Iron Blockaded form cannon and The Greater Maldrood and Zero Command
how about a video on other governments and factions which existed during the galactic civil war like Hutt space and the hapes consortium etc ☺
Please do a video on pre-historic Star wars
how about a video on the corporate sector authority?
thanks
They just showed the Death Star firing on Jedha in the new international trailer for Rogue One.
Great video, would love to know more about the Imperial Remnant!
