Awesome , I’m seeing this Thru different eyes now that I learned a bit
The melodification is the stuff pickers dream about
I loved this video! Especially the bluesy bends. I'm going to start practicing and work them into my arrangement of Clinch Mountain Backstep!
very nice! have fun!
Bennett, I just got one of your signature banjos from Davis on permanent loan. I have a student who collects banjos. It sounds fantastic. I baby sit this guys collection, get them played, tightened up, and get to use them.
Your left hand just keeps getting more admirable! Practically motionless. Love the bends into that tritone
Nice, really builds enthusiasm listening to you play it.
Really have to thank you Bennett! Your great and helpful videos have really helped me become a better player and musician as a whole!
Keep it comin'!
Want to learn those phenomenal soundings. Thanks and love for all .
Thanks for the addition of "Ron Block" stuff ,you mentioned "Smashville" LOVE that tune it makes the Hair on my back stand up,if I could play that tune I would probably go into Orbit

NOW you did it I must listen to "Smashville"again
this is what has been on my mind the past week everytime I pick up the banjo Thank you for your expertise any chance you"ll do Cluck ole Hen next ole buddy ole pal? :)
How did that sound? Awesome!
Good job. I haven't really messed with this song even though I really like it, lol.
Great job!!!! muchísimas gracias! :)
I'm just beginning to learn this tune in the key of A as you demo it here. I find I'm counting the return from the "4" chord to the "1" chord a little differently than you do here. It sounds to me like you are giving the 4 chord an extra count before returning to the "A". Is that possible? I really admire your work! Sign me: Fellow A North Carolinian
hey Jud, on the B section there is an extra beat but over the I chord. This is the 'backstep' of the song. It happens just before the V chord in the tune. You could count it this way (I)1212123!(V)12 (1)12121(V)2(I). Hope that makes sense. Also, no IV chords in this song only I's and V's :).
thank you!
Great video, easy to follow. Too bad I can't bend that much without pulling my banjo completely out of tune Lol
Joseph Talbert true lol
This sounds great and easy Bennet. But I find it difficult to get in the rytm. But I keep trying. And what Keri said about only using pinky, myself I am not able to put any finger put because I cannot make some bends cause of artritis. But I use what I learnt long ago for classical guitar, then your hand flows above the strings with no restpoint. So there is no law to put two fingers down.
I have a fender Leo 1975 model.
I don't know how to get more volume out of it.
Can you give me a good example for getting volume?
Wow Bennett, That's Awesome. Love those blusey licks. And it's all put together so tastefully. I have one question. you're bending those strings so far, are they light gauge?
I can't find this video on your website
