Outstanding. THIS is the kind of music that should be played on Sirius XM "Bluegrass Junction".. rather than rock music played on traditional bluegrass instruments.
I love these type of videos, hope there's more in the future. Great learning, lessons and enjoyment for pickers. Thank you for your video work this year, all the best of the season to you Russ.
sounds awesome. I play banjo and guitar and saw yall in crockett a few nights ago. great concert and found out yalls bassist Scott is from the same town as me in friendswood! keep up the good work
The comments were disabled on "Foggy Mountain Special" you played guitar on. Love your banjo work, subscribed to your channel because of the guitar riffs! Do more guitar videos. They might make you famous! Lol!
You are all outstanding players but poor Jake is playing air guitar. You're not in a studio so as a gifted musicians, learn to back off for the guitar players. Thanks,
Fred, we know how to "back off" for the guitar and did. It's a built in GoPro mic and can only pick so much of the dynamics. But we'll try better next time! Thanks.
I know most people use those GoPros, but most smartphones get HD video now, and if you get one of those Shure ios mics and a little tripod, you can get some great results. Happy pickin in 2017 dude! U r livin' tha damn dream! Sad to see Andy go :(
It all depends on the speakers/headphones. I can hear the guitar just fine, but I've from guitar to banjo last winter so I'm kinda used to hearing the guitar through all that "barbaric twang" and "physics-defying friction noise". And first dreadnoughts were developed for that very purpose - to cut through that infernal racket and provide a solid foundation. That's why I don't like them outdoors - that low-end "thump-thump-thump-thump" of a dread being strummed two miles away is just annoying :D
Bluegrass is such honest real music. Grat stuff.
Met Andy at a concert backstage, this fella knows th violin...wow, so accurate, of course Ricky wont have it any other way,,,...the best
Awesome! That's what it's all about! The fellows were all smiles through out!
Good job young men! And it's very fun to play along with!

Curtis Coleman i can see where he's coming from though, as earl originated the three finger style and he's addressing Russ

You must not have watched the full video .
