  • Ashley Hribar - piano

    This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen on youtube. He at first commands, then towards the end completely becomes his piano. The dedication, the mastery required are incredible. And that comes from someone who has performed several of the regards live. But not complete, that takes a passion, a grace, and a fierceness I can hardly imagine

    If you want to nitpick you could say he made noticeable mistakes on regard du silence and tout le fait . If you were in touch with reality you would realize how insurmountable playing this whole piece through really is. Excellent performance those aforementioned mistakes do not take away from it whatsoever. Extreme mind and muscle connection!

      it’s one of the few pieces that doesn’t have many technical difficulties relatively, but the stamina of the pianist must be insane.

    Примерно так я играю в WoT. Конечно, это не сопоставимо. Ведь он изучил нотный план заранее, а я импровизирую. У него 88 клавиш, а у меня 102. Мне не рукоплескают сотни людей в филармонии, мне ставят лайки сотни людей у себя дома.
    Великая музыка может звучать в твоём сердце независимо от места её исполнения;)

      +john evans are you able to comment on the music?

    • @Mezzotenor
      @Mezzotenor 8 лет назад +9

      +john evans It's meant to be a meditative cycle on the perspectives that various worldly and otherworldly beings would have on the Christ Child at the time of his birth and infancy. Messiaen was well versed in the traditional doctrine of the Roman Catholic faith, and this is one of his more imposing works where he tries to express those concepts musically.
